It’s a lesson I learned the hard way. No one ever told me it. what is very important is that you can’t take demeanor as proof of anything. If anyone ever tells you they have a sure fire way to tell if someone is lying or not they are either (a) lying, (b) deluded and over-confident in their abilities or (c) an idiot. The Pats’ guy’s responses ratcheted up my suspicion index. It’s something that I would want to get more evidence on and then cross examine the hell out of hime. But there were times I did that and the subject of the investigation proved to be pure as the driven snow.
I mentioned in another thread, that at first glace, cheating to gain an advantage over the worst team in the league seems like the most Patriot thing ever. Like a kid who's going to get a 99% on a test cheating in order to get a 100%. However, when you look at the game log, it makes me wonder. The score was tied 10-10 just before halftime, and three of the four offensive drives that the Bengals had had up to that point were productive, while their defense had held the Patriots in check. So when they come out of halftime, the Patriots immediately start creating turnovers, intercepting Dalton three times in the next 11 minutes of game time, four times overall, and limiting the Bengals to just one productive drive in the second half. Meanwhile, the Bengals defense continues to hold New England in check, only giving up touchdowns on two very short fields due to the picks. Is it hard to believe that the Patriots gained something from the illegal video that they then used at halftime to know what was coming, and get picks off of Dalton? Seems like it could be to me.
