    Placeholder for Tua.

Agree.. which is why we should have taken a late round or undrafted QB instead of keeping Rosen — you know, someone who might have a better chance of playing some games at "average" level.

Again, we'll see what happens but I'm pretty confident that your stat-based opinions will be proven wrong this season.

Arizona absolutely fleeced us in that trade. Still can't believe we gave up a second rounder.

That should be a referendum on the ability of NFL personnel to tease apart quarterbacks’ ability from their surroundings on film.

Didn't even take till tomorrow lol. Now it's 2 teams that realize the obvious: Rosen = BUST.

Respect to Flores for his no nonsense attitude!

Oh.. one more thing: note that there were no teams willing to trade for Rosen. Not even a 7th rounder.

Terrible experiment once again at that position! Add him to the list, he was worse than AJ Feely and you really couldn't get any worse than that.

Welp. I'm only surprised because in the age of COVID-19, you never know who is going to be available on game day. I hope Rosen goes on to have a great career, he seems like a pretty good guy and a team player. Now, I'm going to cross my fingers every time Fitz and Tua drop back this season.

There weren't any others when we traded for him either, we bid against ourselves into a 2nd rounder. Nobody ditches a first round QB unless they are convinced he's a failure (and can recoup a second round pick to minimize the sunk cost).

The staff pretty much decided that having Rosen wasn't any better than having some pud like Ruddock on speed dial. And frankly, hard to blame them. Rosen as a backup fared worse than some dude Pittsburgh found named Duck.

I personally dont have faith in the staff to evaluate talent, so I'll hold off on declaring this a good move. In fact considering we took Tua I have even less than no faith in our ability to evaluate talent.

I'm interested who the next GM and coach will be once this clown show is over.

I'm cool with the talent evaluation. I think we got a lot out of the draft but they might prove me wrong tomorrow. And I think I'm okay with our free agent acquisition. With that being said, we're in Year 2 of a foundational rebuild so I don't expect wins, consistent play or anything close to a title (division or otherwise) this season.

Is it possible he clears waivers and makes the practice squad? That would be simply insane.

Personally, I'm pretty shocked because it would have cost roughly $750k for Rosen this season. If they didn't keep him for that during COVID, then that's about all there is to say on the matter.

can't wait till we get a front office that can draft and spot talent. aside from having 10-15 picks per draft to blindly find 1 or 2 players.

This would make some little bit of sense excepting the fact that this isn't the first team to decide Rosen a bust. The first team to take Rosen then came back and took Kyler Murray who looks vastly superior. Hopefully that plays out here as well, and I see little reason to think it won't.

Rosen was always meant to be a flyer, an outside shot at catching some lightning, but he's just a dud.

Why would we want him back? I think it's clear that the coaching staff has seen enough.

    Slightly left of center
The next time any Dolphins GM even SUGGESTS spending a 2nd round pick on a QB, draft or trade, whomever is closest to them needs to just draw back and kick them square in the nuts. Unless it's a woman. In that case drag them by the hair and give her a swirly.
We have spent what now 7-8 2nd rd picks on a QB the best of which was Henne. 1st rd, 3rd 4th 5th whatever. No more 2nds. EVER

I’m not sure any other franchise out there has been as reckless with 2nd round picks as we have.

AJ Feeley was obtained on the basis of preseason film review by Rick Spielman. Obviously that's quite a science.

Less than no faith because we took Tua. I didn't know faith could be measured below zero.

You should write for the Onion. Your stance is comical.

Don't quit your day job of defending the greatest .500 QB in NFL history, Ryan Tannehill.

Tampa Bay signed Rosen to its practice squad. Not a glowing endorsement from the league.

I saw Rosen as an insurance policy for keeping Tua healthy this season. If Fitzmagic gets hurt or sick before the OL rounds into shape (hopefully the OL is improved over last year) I would have rather tossed Rosen out there and let him take the hits. After the bye-week, it could very well be Tua time (unless Fitzmagic is on a roll) and then you can cut Rosen.

I doubt a bad OL will turn into a good one midway through the season. Furthermore, I wouldn't count on having a good OL now or in the future given how bad our OL has been over decades.

So assuming Tua's healthy (and cutting Rosen suggests he is) I doubt this move will impact Tua's health in any way longer term. Tua's injury concerns will exist regardless of when he starts.

I also think you'll see that a bad OL will impact Tua a lot less than a less mobile QB like Tannehill. Tua's mobile, and accurate while mobile. So I expect the OL to "look" better once Tua starts and gets in the rhythm of things.

Dave Hyde with a valid point. Many people have called for the 'draft a QB until you get a good one' philosophy. If you subscribe to that view then it's hard to argue against the Rosen trade. Bring in talent, try it out, find your QB.

Disagree. If we wanted to draft a QB then we should have drafted a QB, not traded for another team's trash. Teams don't just give up on a first round QB after a single year with MAJOR red flags.

Also was annoying because there really wasn't much indication we were actually bidding against anyone else. Rosen for a fourth or fifth? Now THAT'S a flyer taken on a risky project. We got hoodwinked by a GM that frankly isn't usually seen as upper-tier.
