Well, we needed a drive and we got a complete dud. 4:30 to go, that's likely all she wrote with this defense of ours.
Well, look... NE and Buff are good teams. The division is going to come down to them. That being said though, this is a very concerning start to the season IMO. For both the offense, but especially the defense. They've been awful from coverage, to tackling to scheme. Everything is awful. Flores needs to have a chat with Boyer, because it's not working so far. Boyer is in over his head and that's quite clear IMO. They just about had a TD on one play, then ran the same route the next play for the TD and the D is lost. I mean; come on. The OL is still very much a work in progress. I wouldn't put Tua out there behind that OL just yet. It's not worth it.
Never, ever expected the defense to be so bad this year. There are some tough questions that need to be answered.
We lack & need good safety play. It's embarassing. It's embarassing how we couldnt adjust to cover a damn crossing route today either. The defensive coaches need a bigtime wake up call. Nothing is working on that side of the ball. This was another beatdown that lies at the hands of our incompetent D & lack of offensive identity behind a shaky OL again. It's as if nothing has really changed since last year.
Flores post game comment will be -we've got to do better.I see the end of his tenure part way through 2020
No adjustments to stop the Cam option plays last game. No adjustment to stop these routes that have been burning us all damn game.
I hate to say it but they are. Josh Allen was arguably their biggest weakness and they got him an all-star receiver, and he's managed to keep his busted play and TO's in check this season. He needs to face a real defense like Pitt or San Fran before I say he's really turned the corner, but he's easily the best QB from that draft class, which is looking disastrous barring what Baker can put together.
Garbage time TD for Gesicki. Nice grab though. Said it earlier, saying it again. He's arrived. He's legit. Be nice if the NFL still had an onside kick that was possible.
I must be watching a different game than some of ya'll. If you think this team is worse than last years team the 1st half of the season I don't know what you're looking at. It's a different team, but I think this years squad is way better than last years. If we see the same kind of growth thru the year, we'll have a winning season at the end.
Well, after a terrible start, it improved, though there were still lots of mistakes and some bad plays given up. Lots of positives, but we still lost and the team is much better than last season. Gesicki, Ford, van Noy, Fitzpatrick and Gaskin all had good games. There's still a long way to go until this collection of players is a football team, but many of them are young, and will hopefully grow together. Flores and his coaches have them moving in the right direction. We will just have to be patient.
Blame the secondary all you want, the real problem is no pass rush. It doesn’t matter how good or bad they are if there isn’t a pass rush. And I don’t know what people were expecting. A really young team, new players, etc. with a very abbreviated offseason and no preseason, it wasn’t going to be a playoff season. A rebuild isn’t a one year process....
