    Seattle Seahawks (3-0) (-6.5)
    Miami Dolphins (1-2)
    O/U: 54.5

    Sunday Oct 4, 2020 1:00 PM
Hard Rock Stadium Miami Gardens, FL
    Fox Network

    Forecast: 83 degrees and rain

    Questionable

Seattle: Cedric Ogbuehi OT, Chris Carson RB, Damien Lewis OG, Ethan Pocic C, Jamal Adams S, Lano Hill S, Neiko Thorpe CB, Quinton Dunbar CB

Miami: Byron Jones CB, Clayton Frejedelem S

The Seattle Seahawks travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium this Sunday. Surprisingly, the Dolphins own the historical match-up with a 10-5 record. The last time the Dolphins faced the Seahawks was a nail biter in Seattle which Miami lost a close one September 16, 2016 by a score of 12-10. Curiously, the last time the Seahawks defeated the Dolphins in Miami was Oct 6, 1996 where the Seahawks won 22-15.

The Seahawks offense is ranked 2nd in offensive points scoring 37 points per game and gaining an average 408 yards per game. The the Dolphins are ranked 22nd scoring 23.3 points per game and gaining an average 323 yards per game.

Defensively, the Seahawks are ranked 22nd in defensive points, allowing 28.7 points per game and are dead last in the league allowing 497 yards per game. The Dolphins are ranked 10th in defensive points, allowing 21.7 points per game and 25th in allowing 399 yards per game.

Russell Wilson is currently completing 76.6% of his passes having gone 79/103 for 925 yards, 14 TDs and only 1 Int. Ryan Fitzpatrick is currently completing 71.1% of his passes having gone 69/97 for 679 yards, 4TDs and 3 Ints.

On paper, this game is already over however, with Seattle's defense being as banged up as they are and the Dolphins offense showing the improvement it has, expect this to be a close game. Miami will cover the spread.

    Seattle 31
    Miami 27

Because it is the OFFICIAL thread the title should read Seattle Seahawks vs Miami Dolphins

Last time the Shehacks went to Miami they lost 13-10. The only way we could have a better shot against this team would be if Russel doesn't play. Their D is very banged up, and as pointed out were handing out yds like halloween candy before all the injuries. WE HAVE to run the ball and win time of possession. That and a clean penalty free game with no turnovers.

They may say they are not overlooking this game, but they have Minnesota next and guys with injuries like Carson, Adams, and Dissly may be sitting this one out.

I'm just excited to actually watch on my big screen this week instead of a stream on my laptop!

    FINS UP!!!

Any ***Official*** thread I start will ALWAYS have the Dolphins FIRST!!!!! :tongue2: If the game was at Seattle, I would have listed it Miami Dolphins @ Seattle Seahawks.

Seriously though, when you do look at the history of these games the Seahawks have not had an easy time again Miami. The actual game you're referencing, the Dolphins defeated the Seahawks 24-21. (11/25/2012 in Miami)

    https://www.footballdb.com/games/boxscore.html?gid=2012112504

Offensively, the Dolphins pounded the ball against the Seahawks. The Dolphins rushing game led by Reggie Bush (6.21 yards per rush) had 28 rushes for 189 yards. Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill was 18/26 for 253 yards, averaging 9.7 yards per attempt (14 yards per completion) with 1TD and 1 Int. Wilson on the other hand was 21/27 for 224 yards, averaging 8.3 yards per attempt (10.6 yards per completion) and 2TDs. Seattle's bread and butter running game led by Marshawn Lynch was essentially shutdown. Their 27 rushing plays netted only 96 yards with Lynch averaging a dismal 2.42 yards per rush.

Guessing we’re gonna hear a lot of grumbling about our defense after this Sunday. Really want to see a competitive game, win, loss or draw.

Well this is going to be a true test of the defense. Unfortunately they’re surrendering a lot of yards, much of the Vance Joseph bend but don’t break defense. They aren’t doing badly in surrendering a lot of points but the yards...the Seahawks aren’t the Jaguars. If we give up that many yards, Seattle is going to get points.

Oddly, I actually feel our best shot is going to be on the offensive side of the ball. Seattle is giving up 400 yards a game defensively. We should be able to MOVE the ball but we have got to take advantage of their banged up defense and get points on the board.

I just have a feeling we’re going to come up just a bit short.

Personally I'd like us to keep Russel Wilson off the field as much as possible. Whether it's a completion or a run, I'd like us to take down most of the play clock between plays, but not down to 1 second where the snap becomes predictable.

It would also help to set up the hard count later in the game where we could potentially draw a clutch penalty.

To do that though we cant fall behind early.

Defensively, if they are going to score I'd also like them to have longer time consuming drives.

The less possessions both teams have, IMO the better chance we have to win. Despite the fact you usually dont want your D on the field like that, but giving up big plays will kill us.

It's a week where we have to pick our poison and play flawlessly.

I'll just say, in my opinion, if Fitz didnt have consistency issues he could have been a legitimate borderline franchise QB in his career.

He can lead and make all the plays, it's just like sometimes it all turns off.

Shaqueem will be active and likely starting at least on ST. One of my favorite stories and players on the Seahawks. Not this week obviously. I kinda have to follow the hacks being in their back yard. The Phins organization could learn a few things from how the hacks do bizness. I'm praying for win so I can give all the haters up here ish for the next 4 yrs

    Pass Defense bad:
In the first three games of the season against the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Dallas Cowboys, the Seahawks have allowed an average of 430.7 yards per game passing.
Matt Ryan thew for 434 yards, Patriots quarterback Cam Newton threw for 397 yards, and Dak Prescott threw for a season-high 461 yards with the Cowboys on Sunday.
When you add those up, that is 1,292 passing yards. Which is the most in league history over that span of time.

    Run Defense Good:
Although the passing game is a big issue for the Seahawks at the moment, surprisingly, the run defense is not doing all that bad.
As it stands, the run defense is currently ranked No. 2 in the league in rushing yards allowed with just 66.7 yards per game allowed on the ground.
On Sunday against the Cowboys, Eleziekl Elliot was a non-factor on the ground game. Elliot only had 12 carries for 20 yards for the whole game.

We still need the commitment to the run, even if it's not as effective. Parker, Williams Gesicki and Gaskin out of the backfield are going to have a day, but we have to control the clock and keep Wilson on the bench. If they can use the pass game, short crossers over the middle and threatening the seams with Gesicki to get Wagner and Wright moving backwards that will set the run game up.

I agree with him....it's tough traveling from the NW this time of year and competing in Miami. We will likely be losing at halftime but I also think we'll have a decent shot at coming back in the 4th.

The thing I want to see most today, win or lose, is a gameplan on both sides of the ball that looks competent.

We tend to be very hit or miss in that regard under our current staff. I boil part of that down to youth and talent, but going forward I need to see more than guys just playing hard. I need to see a smart staff putting them in position to make plays.

That's not how we can win this game. Needed to keep Wilson on the bench a while longer even if we don't score every possesion

Wilson had about 3 years to throw that ball. Good thing McCain laid a shot on Metcalf to force the drop. David takes down Goliath there.

Bad defense on that third down, but worse offense by the WR.

Nice hit but as a WR you need to catch that.
