No Dolphins football this week. Still, you guys have to be doing something today, right? So instead of a Dolphins game day thread there's this one: Watching another game or two, doing the laundry, watching a movie, day-dreaming about Tua's first game as QB1? Whatever football thoughts you've got today, whatever else you might be doing today - post 'em all in here! As for me, here's the current view out of my kitchen window: And if you're an adventurous coffee drinker here's a recipe for Masala Coffee (essentially it's the basic spices used in Masala Chai added to coffee): Add Cardamom, Cinnamon and Cloves to a mug (and if you're using instant coffee add that too). I'm using ground versions of all of those. I haven't pinned down any quantities for the spices, mostly because I'm a bit lazy but also because I'm still playing with the combination. Add milk/cream and mix it all together. If you have vanilla essence you can add some of that and it'll help mix it up. Then add hot coffee/hot water. I'll be working on a study that I've been writing, and I'll probably have the Titans vs. Steelers game on. Maybe the Packers vs. Texans. Have a good one guys!
Rooting for: The Green Bay Packers The Tennessee Titans The Cincinnati Bengals And I know we're supposed to hope for a Jets win but I can't get myself there. What happens happens.
The Cowboys are currently 2-4 and they're looking horrible. Washington just forced them into the endzone for a safety. If they as bad as they look they might well be in the top 5 draft picks and could be picking up a new QB this year. There are a few promising QB's in the draft. Maybe they'll get their next franchise QB.
Not a fan of these cartoon player images they're using for graphics during touchdowns and match-ups etc. The idea itself isn't horrible, it's the quality of the images. Maybe it's just me but it feels like they could have been much better. Then again, if they've had to have one drawn for every player in the league then that's a lot of work for one artist - they would have had to use a few different artists to get it done and that might have meant different styles. So perhaps this is the result of one guy working quickly to mass produce loads of player images...
Jets are holding their own right now, if they can keep this up (IF!) they might just earn a win. And Ryan Tannehill! He took a jarring hit with a hesitant run near the end zone. Next play he throws a quick pass for an easy touchdown. Pitts are definitely bringing the heat but it hasn't stopped the Titans yet.
Steelers having that Patriots luck with all these potential turnovers falling to the ground and being there to jump on lose balls.
Todd Gurley like a rocket into the end zone! I know what they say about RB's, but watching the elite RB's do their thing is thrilling, and they definitely boost an offense. It would be great to see a real RB talent break out in Miami. I like Gaskin so hopefully he'll develop into something special, or else hopefully the run-game as whole will. Meanwhile, Washington continue to demolish Dallas...
Jets are beating Bills 10-3 just before the half and the Jets are driving! That would be a massive upset win for us all the way around. Edit- ...and Darold throws a pick the very next play. Freakin' Jets! Now it's 10-6 at halftime.
Yep. Feels like they're playing in molasses, in terms of momentum. They're going to need to get some sort of disruption, reset things and pick up some steam.
Buffalo are just about to take the lead from New York. The odds probably aren't great that the Jets will take it back.
Just put up a basketball hoop, me and my girl going to play some horse today. It's cold but sunny out so some frisbee with Gizmo and fixing the broken coffee table for me today. Probably watch the Seahawks game tonight.
Nice! It's been ages since I've played any ball. There aren't too many decent hoops around here and I don't have any space around the house to put one up. Enjoy! Oh, and Gizmo?
Gizmo is the dog in my avatar picture, he's part Rhodesian Ridgeback and Boxer and all ****head. That's my bud, he goes with me everywhere.
Pats fans thinking they're in the running for Lawrence! They do realise they're going to have to out-lose the Jets, right? EDIT...
About 1/3rd of the nation is barely cold enough for snow....just a heavy cold front pushing down hard. The southern states are 60-70F and Florida is in the 80's (meaning it's an average late Fall for them). Generally, southern states see true winter Dec-Feb and the northern states add a month or two on either side of that depending on the year. A good part of the US is in the 70's for 5-6 months out of the year...it's only the North that see crazy winters. For instance, it's 10F degrees in Montana right now, but I'm still wearing t-shirts in South Carolina with weather in the mid 70's (50's and 60's at night). But if our humidity is low here, 60's could be shirts/shorts weather still. Yet 60 in South Florida is freezing because of the high humidity....it feels closer to 30!
Yeah, the Pats looked helpless versus the 9ers today. It was wonderful to watch. The Texans got destroyed today too, so it was a fairly successful bye-week for Miami.
The thing is a RB can be massively valuable IF you get them on their first contract. Ill take a back like Adrian Peterson or Tomlinson all day every day.
That sprint up the field to catch Budda Baker after his interception was something else, wasn't it? Had me right out of my seat. Play of the week for me.
The Rams-Bears game will be interesting this evening, if nothing else just to see if there are any significant injuries for LA which will impact our game with them.
Man, I was just watching the Browns-Bengals game on NFL Season Pass and if Joe Burrow was a Dolphin, he would have been starting since day one and we could be 6-0. That kid is going to be great once he has a real team around him.
Ok, just a quick observation from last night's Rams vs Bears game. Aaron Donald is a WRECKING machine! I know our offensive line play has improved immensely, but it's going to have to step up. Nick Foles was getting next to no time to throw the ball and the Bears running game was non-existent, with the Rams allowing only 49 rushing yards. Talk about baptism by fire. Welcome Tua the NFL Tagovailoa. You're going to have the brutal introduction this Sunday.
I think after watching last night the Rams can be had. Donald and their Dline are going to eat, Tuas gotta be smart with it. I think our Defense matches up pretty well, our Secondary can handle Kupp and Woods and our DL is better than their OL. Their run game is mostly zone stretch so Bakers speed is going to be big and they gotta tackle. Quick penetration up the middle wrecks their jet sweep motion game, time to go Wilkins. Need to control field position and sustain a few drives in the second half. Getting an early lead would be nice.
