had we not made so many mental mistakes... this game was easily ours. If sparano and company can clean up the mistakes in the next few weeks, we definately are much improved.

Why do we have all these tall WR but then throw the ball to Ginn in the Endzone?

Hate to say it fellas, but that last play is all Ginn.

Pennington gave our best receiver (Ginn) a shot to make a play, and he got completely punked out by Revis on the last play.

Disappointing finish, but this team played hard and came back against a team that many have in the playoffs. We overcame a number of mental mistakes and errors and still nearly came back to win the game.

I'll have more on the game later, hate the outcome, but this is a promising start.

Pennington should have thrown that last one out of the end zone. Oh well. We showed heart at least. Something we didn't show last year. That's the only positive in this game

what a finish...it was so damn close...but we fought and when you look at some of the other teams, i think we will have a big chance to win a nice couple of games this year.

I want to see the urgency and at least enough desire that this team avoids the small mistakes. Just like last year, this felt like death by 1000 paper cuts.

Turned into a good game. Mental mistakes, penalities and it looked like they weren't on teh same page a few times. I felt there were some questionable non-calls on the Jets defensive backs on our WR's - all considered within one play of winning the game.

    Go Fins.

I would say we were more then competitive. They had a real chance to win this game even after all the mistakes and missed chances.

When showing the Jets sideline it looked like they thought they were going to lose

I think its a bit of both to be honest. Our secondary showed its vulnerability. We gave up alot underneath in the short passing game, and our run defense wasnt stellar. Jones racked up 101 yards on 22 carries... We didnt have much of an answer for him. I fear whats going to happen when we face LT next week.

The other disappointing thing for us... is our running game. Sure we kin of abandoned it... but it really wanst working either. Ricky 10 for 24, ronnie 6 for 23... Not as impressive as we would have hoped.

Were going to surprise people, I think to be honest, we really surprised the jets too. I dont think they expected this kind of fight from us.

The key thing too... No Miami Injuries to report form this game so far.

Anyways, its been fun boys, see you next week

What's their to be proud of we lost by only 3 points many times at the beginning of last year? We showed nothing in this game that the 07 Dolphins did not against the Redskins in that opener.

    - Far too many mistakes
    - Plenty of idiotic play calling
    - Playing midget WRs in the red zone, especially Bess instead of Wilford.

    - The non-sense of playing Camarillo, a guy who cannot get any separation instead of Hagan who despite his drops can at least get open.
There were good things to be sure, but nothing better than anyone on this forum expected. The defensive line played well at times, the tight ends looked GREAT, Pennington was not quite as good as I expected at the beginning but he looked fairly good later on. Ronnie Brown looked better than Ricky. The stuff against Jake Long was ticky-tack a bit, but he has to correct that. He looked decent overall.

If you remember at the end when they were trying to attack Pennington to win it, Long held his own against the Jets' pass rush and created a solid pocket.

What kills me is if this was pennington against the Dolphins they would have scored that TD. I really thought we were going to pull it out. It happened against us so many times I thought it was our turn to pull it off. Damn .I`m mad right now but i realize there were positives to build on.

    very disappointing loss. very.

we were pretty much in the game the whole time... plus when they were without their kicker, it was a huge advantage for us, yet we didnt capitalize on this. penalties killed us all day (didnt jake long have 2 flags on him?)... throw in a few pi flags too... (i think the one on goodman i believe was bogus).

promising though because we kept within striking distance the whole game. i know we are a young team, so hopefully this will be a springboard for us. we better play better at arizona next week though.

and how come ted ginn jr. let most of his punts hit the turf before he fielded them???

Ill give you the mistakes, I dont know about the play calling... i didnt think it was THAT bad...

I dont understand the fade to bess... that was weird. However, wilford has done nothing to show that he deserves to be playing on this team as of yet. sorry, but thats just how it is.

Im surprised we saw really no Hagan today...

You have to put your 6-4 WR with long arms and great hops to use. That's about all Wilford is good for so use him.

Things I noticed after watching the game:

-Showed a lot of promise and it excites me that we have a team that I can be proud of...
-Too many mental mistakes, as mentioned probably. Everyone bit that playaction pass by Favre for the first TD, everyone.
-Offensive line needs to calm down.. the Jets front seven really ate them up. Jake Long looked good for the most part other than a few mental mistakes (tripping call, holding, etc.)
    -Pennington looked relatively good.
-Ronnie Brown looked beastly, he should be starting over Ricky Williams, IMO.
-Where the hell did David Martin learn to catch?
-4th round pick for Fasano? We win.
    -I hate Phil Simms.
-That second TD, holding was blatant IMO. Also there was a few pass interference calls than could have went our way. That hold call pissed me off the most though being it resulted it an amazing TD pass.
-We should win more than one game this year... I'm expecting a win next week!

That's because the Jets have better receivers. This loss was mostly due to receivers not getting open for most of the game IMO. The running game was abandoned too early.

The bright spot in this one was probably the defense. I'll be more optimistic when they win one game.

Jake long holding call was ticky tacky and there was far more blatant holding on NYJ that wasn't called, including that sheer luck TD #2.

Same here, though we should have run the ball on that 3rd and 4th down at the 2 in the third quarter (I think)

The offensive line did not do a horrible job. You wouldn't have seen so many pressures if the receivers could get open.

Ugh...I am literally sick to my stomach...and I didn't even see the game! Just reading what you guys have posted (you can't punch it in from the 2!?!?!?!:cursing: ) is bad enough. Face it, this is a game we should have won. I don't care about how they feel about us, how the coaches feel about us, how the rest of the league is put on notice...blah, blah, blah. We lost it, and we should have won. Period. End of Story. To me, no different from last year when it comes to the bottom line- wins and losses. We had the opportunity, and we couldn't do it. Until that changes- Same Old Miami.

I wasnt either. He cant seem to get open. Last year it seemed more of a case where our QB didnt have time to get him the ball. Chad had lots of time today. the OL did well. I was baffled by the lack of seperation from Ginn as well. However, Revis is a good corner as well. Not sure what to think here... but he definately needs to get open for us to be successful.

I agree... it looked to me like Hill took off back towards the line thinking favre might run, which left his man wide open standing on the goal line. you can see him running back in desperation but its already too late.

The run defense does need to get there act together some of those plays were pitiful. I think Miami would have been more successful in the running game if they had given it more of a chance.

We play Arizona next week FYI:wink2:
