It's that time of week again!

    Oddsshark Breakdown:

    LA Chargers:
    "Los Angeles News & Notes
The Chargers suffered yet another heartbreaking loss last Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Justin Herbert had another strong game as he completed 28 of his 42 pass attempts for 326 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and no interceptions.

But on the final drive of the game, Herbert led the Chargers down to a first-and-goal on the Raiders’ four-yard line before failing to convert the field position into a touchdown. Los Angeles lost 31-26 as a 1-point underdog and fell to 1-6 SU over its last seven games.

Herbert now has 15 touchdown passes and only three interceptions over his last five games. Los Angeles has been extremely competitive with Herbert under center as their six losses have all come by less than seven points and by an average of only four points. Giving up 31.8 points per game on defense over the team’s last five games has doomed the Chargers to a 1-4 SU record over that stretch."

    A High Scoring Affair?
"Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa have both looked great in their rookie campaigns and the future appears to be bright for both of these teams. Look for these two quarterbacks to put on a show and to send the total OVER 48 points."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Wingfield's Take:

    https://www.miamidolphins.com/news/dolphins-chargers-week-10-preview

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Other Stuff:

    Trap Game?
With the bookies making Dolphins slight favourites and expecting a high scoring game, are they attempting to get bettors to buy in? Do the Chargers not appreciate coming into this game as underdogs? Does Herbert come in with a chip on his shoulder having been passed over by Miami in favour of the Hawaiian Hero? Is this a chance for a good Chargers team to show that their better than an increasingly hyped Dolphins team?

    Injuries
    For LA MSNBC reports:
"Defensive end Joey Bosa didn’t practice at all last week after suffering a concussion and didn’t play against the Raiders, but he’s moving toward a return to the Chargers lineup in Week 10.

Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said on Wednesday that Bosa will take part in individual work as the team begins on-field preparations to face the Dolphins. He remains in the concussion protocol, but will progress toward clearance if the return to work doesn’t result in any complications.

Lynn also said that he will likely rest running back Justin Jackson in practice after Jackson hurt his knee in the loss to the Raiders. That doesn’t rule him out of playing this weekend, but it certainly doesn’t make it a likely development.

Joshua Kelley and Kalen Ballage handled the running back duties after his injury. Troymaine Pope could also figure into the mix if he is cleared from his concussion."

    For Miami:
We know that Preston Williams will be out.

We'll keep an eye on injury reports as they are released.

    Uniforms:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Electric?

I hope the Chargers bring a spare battery because they'll be leaving flat.

In the NBA there was once a game in San Antonio where a bat interrupted play, and another where a snake was found in the visiting locker room.

    This Sunday for the Chargers:

    SO Cal
The Chargers will be without defensive end Joey Bosa again this weekend. Bosa has been in the concussion protocol since being injured in Week 8 against the Broncos. He was ruled out for this Sunday’s game against the Dolphins on Friday. It’s a significant absence for the Chargers as they try to snap a two-game losing streak by beating the streaking Dolphins.

The Chargers also ruled out running back Justin Jackson (knee). Troymaine Pope (concussion) is listed as questionable, so the Chargers will be calling Kalen Ballage up to go with Joshua Kelley in the backfield this weekend. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga (back) and right guard Trai Turner (groin) are also listed as questionable.

I remember those times. I think Ginobili had to get a shot after knocking out the bat with his bare hands. That gator looks like a damn dinosaur.

cant forget the A/C going out during the summer in central TX.

How good has Herbert really looked? Chargers fans seem to be losing their mind over him, but hes still only 1-5 as a starter.

Interesting that the Dolphins and Chargers, in terms of offensive and defensive EPA, are essentially the same team, despite the difference in their records:

Tua would be 0-2 if he had the Chargers defense on our team since they had to score both games so I'm not sure what you're saying exactly, you arent looking at record with a young QB at all. Herbert has been phenomenal and any attempt to take that away is ignorance IMO his numbers speak for him.

That is a team stat. The bolts D is awful and their coaching blows. He has been amazing for a rookie and they have lost their games by only a small amount at the end because, as I said, their D is awful. Go check out some replays.

I watched a bit of highlights and he looked like Herbert to me. Huge arm, slinging it deep, good athlete. Im looking forward to Sunday to see how he goes through his progressions.

Watch a bit more. He surely hasn't been a guy with just a big arm. He has been very good in just about every aspect of being a very good NFL QB; big arm, touch, accuracy, composure, smart, resilient, etc...

I was, but I'm coming around on Tua. I'm not going to project who is or will be better, I'd still have taken Herbert but Tua exceeded my expectations last week for sure.

That said, I wasnt knocking Tua at all with that reply. Our offense was outscored in both games. My point was that record isnt a good way to judge a young QB on a bad team.

I will say that I think Tua will look better this week just based on the defenses they are both playing against. Herbert has a much harder job this week. MUCH harder.

SD would have beaten NO had it not been for a botched, easy FG attempt.

He's also 2nd in the NFL for pass yards per game.

Awesome news! Van Noy is a big contributor. I also want to see Callaway just out of curiosity- no idea who he is other than being a "bad boy."

This is a game we should win easily and under normal circumstances, I wouldn't be sweating it. But the win streak has me waiting for a shoe to fall since that's what always happens in Miami.

Really think this team is different though and Herbert should have a pretty darn rough day. He has run for a lot this season like Murray, but nobody has Murray's speed/elusiveness and I think we'll be all over Herbert all day long. I expect the defense to score again this week as well- just feels right.

Still nervous though and I can't shake it- this is the "worst" team we face all year (besides the Jets) and those teams always make me nervous because they can play like they have nothing to lose.

Not this team. This team is different, and it's the first time I've said that on these boards. That doesn't mean I'm guaranteeing a win tomorrow, but I'd be very surprised if we don't end up 10-6 or better. Where and how those 5 wins and 3 losses (or fewer) come from is another story, but this team isn't your typical collapse late when it matters type.

Well we'll see. It's obviously only a prediction at this point, but my excitement for the Dolphins is a year ahead of schedule.

Yeah, I absolutely expect us to blow them out tomorrow; I have a lot of faith in this team as well. I personally need a few more games to be sure what we're seeing is 100% legit though- I think it's because we've played a few really talented teams recently and the score was close.

LOL, I've been preaching that we'd win 6 or 7 in a row for awhile now....not sure why I'm the one who's nervous.

Lets take care of business. Knock Herbert on his butt, control the time on offense, we should be good, but not without a fight from them. They are a tough team for sure.

I watched every Charger game so far, as I watch a lot of games. Make no mistake about Herbert, he’s good, very good. Throws a beautiful accurate pass especially long down field and he can scramble to avoid pressure and throw on the run. It’s not his fault his defense can’t protect the 30 point leads he puts up. Yeah, the Chargers have invented creative ways to lose. Right now with our lack of weapons I’m afraid this matchup is not our favor. But we do have a coach who has had this team prepared every time they step on the field. We couldn’t really get to Murray but our D should at least cause Havoc for Herbert. Can he beat our D? That’s the question

Herbert is responsible for most of the Chargers turnovers. My hope is we pressure him into multiple turnovers today.

So we’re missing Wilkins and maybe Raekwon? That’s my biggest concern but what we’ve learned over the last two years is to trust “The Flo.”

The lousy part about being a good team that the media can't stop talking about- you don't get many 1PM kickoffs anymore. That stinks for two reasons-

    1) We have to wait an extra 3 hours until kickoff...

    2) We don't get the full benefit of the 1PM sun in S. Florida

Honestly, it's a competitive disadvantage for the media to like us! 1PM home games are like our 12th man on the field.

I hate not being in the early window, just leaves me time to get nervous about the game, and with the injuries/covid-19 players missing that's certainly happening today.

Trying to substitute it by watching what will hopefully a Houston loss for the sake of our draft picks.

Speaking of Houston, what is with that game? Browns need to step it up, looks like 10pts will be enough to win it.

Browns 10 Texans 0 in the fourth.
