    Great News.

I figured the Dolphins would be flexed to better games down the line.

Not much Social is going on for Boxing Day this year anyway. It'll be great to watch the Dolphins. And considering the Raiders recent performance, it might be a very winnable game.

I was really hoping this would happen. Did anyone notice that the 4PM game that Saturday will only be available to stream on Amazon Prime?

I didn't notice that. I'm a Prime member with a good internet connection, but that's still BS for people who can't/don't.

It's not Prime. It's NFL network.

Our game is yes, but he's talking about Arizona/San Francisco. That one is only on Prime.

Its also going to be on twitch. He should be able to watch it without creating a twitch account, but if not, a twitch account is free. He'll be able to watch the game via browser, app on phone, or app on xbox/playstation and probably nintendo (not sure about the Big N as I dont have one).

Unless you don't have a broadband connection. I wonder if the game is being shown on broadcast TV in the home markets.

Amazon is bidding for the Sunday Ticket next year- they badly want that exclusive and Direct TV won't renew it (since they're desperately trying to sell the company). It's almost comical since Dish is the only one interested and the govt. blocked that sale to avoid a potential monopoly.

I personally think satellite TV and cable will be dead in the next 3-5 years anyway. It's just too expensive and the value isn't there anymore.

The problem is that there are still millions of Americans with no access to broadband. If satellite TV goes away, they'll be back to how it was in the early 80s. I lived like that for a long time.

As far as Amazon getting the Ticket though, bring it on! I'll sign up the day it goes on sale.

I'm thinking yaah and damn, as it means it's a 3am game in the UK - at least I won't be working on the 27th

That would be difficult! I once got up at 5am to watch a MLB game that was played in Japan.

I'm one of those Americans, but I can stream anything on LTE (and eventually 5G). Once 5G fully rolls out, you'll likely drop your broadband since you can have much higher speeds at home for a lot less money.

For instance, I have a 4G LTE home router & VOIP passthrough for phone that I've used for about 8 years now- I get an average of 25 down/5 up with unlimited data and it costs me a whopping $21/month. Now, that's pretty slow but I'm way out in the country...people I know a few miles away with broadband can't get that speed consistently. I struggle sometimes with video chats for work on the upload but otherwise, I have no problems streaming movies or live events.

So yeah, I think satellite TV is very close to being dead. Starlink is another game-changer that's right around the corner for blazing internet speed worldwide- their test are averaging 300-500 down/50-150 up which puts it on par with what most can expect from 5G. They claim that they can significantly increase that speed as well over the next few years.

I guess we'll see what happens. I used to live in a very rural area where I couldn't even get a good cell phone signal. Now, I live in a semirural area where its sometimes OK and I have full bars and 4G, but other times I can struggle to even make calls and texts, let alone use data. And unfortunately, the cost of unlimited cell plans keeps getting more and more and more expensive.

I'm not expecting to have 5G service in my area any time soon, but thankfully we're getting Gigabit Fiber within the next year, so that should work for just about everything.

Well that sucks because AT&T lost its contract with NFL Network last year. Oh well, guess I'll just have to see if I can't stream that game.

I have had the Ticket for a long time as I like being able to watch all the games. I'm thinking of entirely cutting the cord next year.

If you're interested in cord cutting, I bought a Amazon Fire Stick and hard wired to directly to the router (they sell the adapter on Amazon). Then downloaded apps at Troypoint.com. Troypoint has step by step videos on how to set up a firestick and can walk you through everything you need to know about getting rid of your cable/satellite TV (if that's an option). This site does not advocate doing anything illegal nor am I. Please be responsible.

I have a Firestick and a Fire TV already. I'm going to switch away from Comcast and go only to Fiber internet as soon as its in my area, and be done with watching traditional TV at that point. My wife only watches Netflix and Prime, and my kids only watch Youtube, so I'm the only one in the house watching "real tv" as it is. I'll just have to make due without NFL and MLB networks, and the shows that I watch on other channels.

Check out Troypoint and watch his videos. You can stream network tv and "other" programs.

That's keen Lucky, slightly early breakfast call at 5
Looks like I'm setting my alarm for 3am - I did the same thing this year for the 1st round of the draft because I was excited about the 3 picks we had. I was a bit useless for the Friday though :o)
