I'm delighted to have him back. I still think that he can be a good player in the NFL. He'll be a UFA after this season though, so the team will need to resign him in March if they want to keep him beyond the last four games.

I thought he was going to go to New England and catch 1000 passes every season?

Good news. Chances are we need him down the home stretch. Prolly should just sign him to a 1+1 kinda deal, rookie minimum with some roster bonuses and performance incentives. Sometimes it takes an eye opener like getting fired and forced to move to make guys realize the NFL's not a given. Gotta outwork EVERYBODY to get it.

    From Ford's Wikipedia page...

    Miami Dolphins[edit]

Ford was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round, 237th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft.[9] On August 18, 2017, he was placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury.[10]

On September 1, 2018, Ford was waived by the Dolphins and was signed to the practice squad.[11][12] He was promoted to the active roster on November 28, 2018.[13]

On August 31, 2019, Ford was waived by the Dolphins and re-signed to the practice squad.[14] He was promoted to the active roster on September 25, 2019.[15] He was waived again on October 30 and re-signed to the practice squad.[16] He was promoted to the active roster on November 27. In the 2019 season, he recorded 23 receptions for 244 receiving yards.[17]

    On April 17, 2020, Ford was re-signed to a one-year contract by the Dolphins.[18]

    New England Patriots[edit]
On November 3, 2020, Ford was traded to the New England Patriots for a conditional 2022 seventh-round draft pick.[19][20] On December 5, 2020, Ford was waived.[21]

    Miami Dolphins (second stint)[edit]
On December 8, 2020, Ford signed with the practice squad of the Miami Dolphins.

While I understand what you're saying and do tend to agree with...getting fired to light a fire underneath you, Ford's already been through that a few times. I'm not saying he can't or won't be an impact player, but he's already been "hired" and "fired" 3 times already.
