Frustrating as it was and being down by so many points against a quick strike KC offense I saw quite a few positives. Even with the safety and the sack to push us out of field goal range the team came back with a chance to win at the end. This is still a young team and they stayed in it. Even with a bunch of offensive starters out they drove down the field. Bring on the Patriots!
Oh the defense played terrible against Murray....they didn't intercept him.....boo-hoo-hoo... I guess you FORGOT how Murray was scrambling against this defense, had the ball knocked out of his hands by Ogbah and Lawson scooped it up and returned it for a touchdown. Ooooo the defense played really bad! Please put the stats sheet away and actually recall the ACTUAL game!
Yeah go back and watch the game. Except for that one fumble return TD at the beginning of the game our defense could NOT contain Murray. I mean he had 106 yards rushing and 1 rushing TD in addition to a 150.5 passer rating with 3 TD's and 0 INT's. There's no game with that kind of stat line where the defense actually played well against a QB. And IF you go back and watch the game you'll see that too. Defense played bad that game. That win was on Tua.
Throwing out jabs? You mean criticizing a player when it's deserved while commenting on a game? Oh my... heaven forbid I point out a mistake a player makes. I "threw a jab" at Grant, and Perry for not making plays too. Why aren't you crying about that? Are you complaining to CBS also, because Romo also said that Tua "floated" those deep balls too much. I think the main issue here is that you made an assumption that that slight hint of criticism & subsequent question was me bashing him; it wasn't. I'm not the Tua hater you're assuming I am over that comment. During the game in this thread I said the following: - On the deep ball to Grant; while I said i felt it was a bit underthrown, I also said Grant should have caught it & got on him for not doing so. - The throw to Perry that should been 7... I said it was a perfect throw and a capable NFL receiver makes that catch. - On the throw to Parker I said how perfect it was and the drop is on Parker. - The 2nd TD pass to Gesicki I said was a great catch and throw. - I said I was hoping he could also get his first 300 yard game today as it was winding down. - I also said the sack before halftime where he looked like a deer in headlights because the D confused him was not something you can do; you can't take a sack there. - I said the same thing on the safety. You can't just stand there. He was caught confused. - On those two issues, I also said he's a rookie, that's what you get. - I took a jab at someone today who came into this thread and said "TUA SUCKS" or something to that effect by saying "go back under your bridge". Turns out he was being sarcastic and not trolling... but I'm a Tua hater, right? You made a wrong assumption based on one comment. The exact question I asked was commented on by Romo several times during the broadcast about a few deep balls seemingly floating or hanging up in the air a bit too long. I simply was saying Wow, he hung another one up a bit to long and asked others here who may have read it why that might be. Instead, you had to take it personally or something. So the fact of the matter here is; you got your panties in a wad over something that you're just flat out wrong on because you took that criticism and question far too seriously and made assumptions that I hate Tua. Which is just flat out wrong. So, I'm sorry for being able to say positive, or negative things about a player while watching a game and that not meaning I'm a "hater" of a specific player, it's just discussing the damn game. I'm sorry that you can't handle that. I'm sorry that makes you want to ignore or block someone. I'm sorry that the issue here really is you; not me.
Emotions are high after a tough loss like this. People make mistakes. All of us. If we were to be judged only on our worst and weakest moments what a terrible reputation we would all have. You never know what someone is enduring. It isn’t an excuse for them but should be reason enough for the rest of us to tread forward with as much empathy and understanding as we can muster. Foresight and kindness can go a long way and we would all be served well to remember that.
Devonta Smith and Najee Harris should be looking at property in South Beach soon after Alabama’s season is done

I don’t want to take “a” wide receiver or “a” running back. I want the BEST WR and the BEST RB. If we can get JaMarr Chase and Travis Etienne, I’m going to involuntarily ejaculate excessively. If we pick “a” WR or “a” running back that are going to be develop projects with our 2 first round picks, I’m going to be infuriated!
The Phins were literally trotting out 4th string receivers and backs against the best team in the league. Skilled backs and receivers have to be the Phins only serious focus in the offseason. Keep the rest of the pieces together and improve the weapons for Tua. He's a smart conservative players. He's not going to try and make the throws Fitzy will. And at times that may look like he sucks. He just needs some quality weapons.
Agreed. If Perry had a bit more size and experience that throw Tua made down the sideline to him coulda been a TD. Can't fault either player really; excellent throw/decision from Tua. Perry did what he could, but with more size/experience I think he could have and should have made that catch. Hard to get on a guy that played at Navy though & has little experience and typically doesn't see the field. Offensive weapons are key as you've said. On the conservative note; I think you're right that he's more conservative than Fitz, but I almost feel like that is going away a bit. I think early on maybe he just wasn't as prepared as he should be or not anticipating as much and seeing things clearly. I think we're starting to see him throwing guys open a bit more now. Thought Romo did a good job yesterday pointing out some of that, they showed a couple shots of him using his eyes to look guys off too. I think yesterday's game is a good sign of seeing progression in his growth as others have said. Still get some brain farts out there, but hey... he's played 6 NFL games in an odd year. It is what it is; it's bound to happen. It's frustrating, but that's what you get with a rook.
I said this in another thread but I really wish we had gone for two before kicking the ball back to KC. I know the idea is that you want to get the ball back, score and win. Great. Realistically you should be worried about tying and staying in the game first. If you get the two you're cushioning yourself against that FG later and at least give yourself a chance to have a last desperation drive. There was enough time left that we should have regarded stopping them in FG range as a possibility, and it's more likely to convert the two than have them miss a FG. worst case scenario you're down 7 and still just need the stop and score. Sure you might need to deal with OT but I'm hedging my bets to get there when I'm down so much. You send it to OT and you still own the momentum.
One thing i didnt like seeing is that at the end it looked like Fitzpatrick was warming up his arm to go out there for the Hail Mary... what kind of noodle arm quarterback did we draft?
Jeff George had a ***CANNON*** of an arm He could launch that ball 70-75 yards with ease. And yet, he had one of the highest number of interceptions to touchdown ratios. Tagovailoa may not have that "cannon" of an arm, but I'll take accuracy over power 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.
A few years ago Jacoby Brissett subbed in for Andrew Luck to throw a hail mary. I guess Andrew Luck had a weak arm as well. Some quarterbacks have better arms than others in that type of situation. Not that hard to understand really.
It's not all about having a gun, but I dont think you can debate that his arm strength doesnt need improving. You can never fully open up the offense if you cant make all the throws. Strengthening his arm can only make him a better player, it cant make him regress.
