I think this game is indicative of the example of you have to learn how to win. Big game. Lots of hype. Underdog.

They got whooped. But never gave up and at the end had a shoot. It was a long shot but the way they kept fighting makes me proud.

I wouldn't say they got whooped, they gave KC everything they can handle. I also think this year they have showed they know how to win, they're just beaten up and young.

I just think we’re a year away from being an able to be able to contend. Our offense can’t be this bad and beat teams like KC.

Add some weapons, get more experience, OL improves. Tua develops maybe maybe find a MLB and this team is going to be nasty.

I saw it differently- KC really got whooped on offense and got bailed out by that punt return and the one long TD along the sideline. They literally beat us on two plays. The defense played excellent today and Tua did what he could with limited weapons. To me, the important part was the way that we came back and showed we were the better team in the 4th quarter.

With our full roster vs. KC's full roster, I think we win that game in the playoffs.

You see it like me. For as good as our defense and special teams are, those two plays were huge. On the flip side (as I said in another thread) had we not missed a field goal and taken a safety, the end of this game plays out differently, even with the end around and punt return. We'd have been down by a point instead of six.

Don't get it twisted: The better team won today. But the difference between the Chiefs and Dolphins was we didn't do the little things necessary to beat a great team. And to consider that we stayed with them without Parker, Williams, Van Noy and our top three running backs bodes well for us. I'm excited because Tua has been growing every week and if we were to play the Chiefs in week 17, they'd come into the game with a helluva lot more respect for us and we'd enter with the confidence necessary to get a different outcome.

To play devil's advocate, it's entirely possible KC let their guard down a bit defensively at the end after we'd only mustered 10 points all day. They made us eat time on that final drive which was probably strategic to a degree, though obviously they didnt want to allow a TD.

I'm not saying that is the case, but we should consider that we padded the game a bit late.

This is that process of learning to win I was alluding to.

If we could have gotten a stop when KC last had the ball, I think we stood a good chance of pulling it off. Tua was hot, we were moving the ball, you could just see the momentum shift. KC kicked that field goal and barely escaped is the way I see it.

Those pass interference calls in the end zone actually hurt us. Between our initial 1st and goal from the one and the point where Tua scored, we lost an INVALUABLE minute and a half. We should have went for the QB sneak on the very first play from the 1.

If I may give a little analogy...

    Ford vs Ferrari...

After the 1965 loss at the 24 Hour of Le Mans, Henry Ford asked Carroll Shelby why he shouldn't shut down the entire race team. Shelby replies (paraphrasing) that Ford actually has Ferrari right where he wants him...that Enzo is scared...that Ford developed a car that went 218 miles on the Mulsanne Straight of the race...and that Ferrari is worried about how to beat that.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins yesterday by a whopping 6 points. The Dolphins were without Devante Parker, without Mike Gesecki, without Preston Williams, without Miles Gaskins, without Salvon Ahmed, without Kyle Van Noy and they only won by 6 points so yea, the Dolphins definitely have the Chiefs where they want them and the Chiefs are definitely hoping they don't have to face the Dolphins again in the playoffs at full strength.

Being without a starter and trying to win is difficult enough, but when you're already down 5 starters and you only lose by less than one score against the reigning World Champions, you've proven you're a team to be reckoned with.

The reality is KC is a defending super bowl champion and currently 12-1 for a reason. Their offense is near impossible to shut down, it’s just a matter of slowing them down enough and having an offense that can score more points than them. Our offense is nowhere near that.

None of us were foolish enough to think we would be able to compete with KC so soon. A missed FG, a safety and a PR TD all bit us in the butt. You also can’t score 3 points off the first 3 turnovers.

The good news is we’re only going to get better. I’m not done with this season yet but man I can’t wait to see them play next year.

The Chiefs are light years better than we are in every category. Rightfully so they earned it and I got a soft spot for them. Since they seem to trigger Patriots fans to pieces. Yes we will get there very soon. We need another grand slam draft and some really good moves in free agency. I’m talking like near perfect moves here.
