Well, no real talent at WR on the field right now. Tua hasn't exactly pushed the ball downfield all year either though, but it's hard to blame him for that when you have nobody capable of getting open.
What a joke. Our ground game is the only thing working on offense. Chan opts for two straight throws--as if we're down double digits--and runs on third and long. I don't know what to say. If he's still around next year...
I dont see why we cant create matchups in space for guys like Perry and Bowden. They are both quick and shifty players who can make people miss in space. Instead we constantly throw one yard passes to a covered TE.
Albert Wilson, devante Parker, jakeem Grant. Hurt/unreliable/inconsistent all three. We need a complete overhaul and Chan “I’m retired” Gailey needs to stay in retirement.
This is hard to watch. Against the worst defense in the league. We have a playoff defense but we are far from a playoff team
The draft needs to focus on offense, we need another OL, a RB, and a WR. The defense will be fine if they don't have to worry about the team getting beat if they give up 20pts or more.
Fitz in? That tells me that Tua is missing plays downfield. Either not seeing it, or being indecisive, or both. Yikes.
Replays never showed anyone open but either way you need to do something. Offense is talentless but you need need a spark.
Well, as they benched Tua I was typing this... It makes me wish I could see the all22 shots downfield to see. I have a hard time believing nobody is open this consistently. Especially how quick some of the checkdowns seem to come. It's as if he's not seeing it, or not taking chances. You have to at least take a chance and attack downfield. NFL "open" for WR's isn't what Tua is used to. So the move to bench him again tells me he's got to be missing chances to push it downfield & not giving his guys a chance. He's raw... he needs to learn things still. It is what it is.
Disagree. It's like the announcer said they are NFL open. Tua is holding it too much and not trusting his guys. It's not magic that Fitz is moving the ball.
To be fair, most of the replays they show aren't indicative of what's really happening downfield. You'll typically only see that on the all 22 footage. I mean, look at how we're moving the ball now. That's pretty telling. Tua won't chance these throws, and in all honesty to succeed in this league you have to. It's a lesson he needs to learn. taking care of the ball is good, but not when it's costing your team. You've got to take some chances and let your guys make plays.
Tua is nothing more than a caretaker. He checks down and dumps the ball off and hopes not to make a mistake
Not that it matters, but I'm nervous about Tua now. He's young, but these are some alarming red flags. He may simply be another Teddy Bridgewater.
I don't think it's that concerning just yet. I think he's just got to learn and adapt to the speed, and the difference between NFL open, and top tier college program open.
Was that ball behind Gesicki? Or was his shoulder injury preventing him from getting his hands up to get it?
That and improve his arm strength. It would open up a lot of throws for him and make what he does underneath easier.
Yes can't watch the game but just off of the forum I was wishing for this when the fourth started. If Fitz can save it Tua should be looked at hard as a bust.
