I see the Texans losing 3 or 4 more games this season. They'll be swept by the Colts, they'll lose to the Titans and possibly even lose to the Bears.
Not too bad a weekend for our Houston pick, with a couple teams ahead of them winning and them losing. I don't know how the Bengals will manage a win against them though, and Bears look pretty shaky -unless Nagy is fired this week and Chicago get that 'temp coach' bounce. So, a Texans record of 6-10 looks very possible, putting that pick right around #15. I'd love to be wrong and end up in the top ten though.
Parsons is a top 15 pick. We won't be able to get one of the top rated WR's if we pick him, and given that we have an elite defense already it's pretty clear we need to prioritize WR first before anything else. I can live with Chase or Waddle, and we're not getting either of them with our 2nd 1st round pick. So as far as I'm concerned, it's either Chase or Waddle with our 1st pick, and after that mostly stack up on offensive talent. If there's a good LB then pick him but not with our first pick of the draft.
I can almost guarantee Patrick Surtain wont be a top 10 pick when all is said and done.. he gives up too many big plays and penalties against top competition for anyone to gamble that high on him.. hes got loads of potential but top 10? Really thats the first time ive heard of him being valued that high and its shocking..
After last night’s game, if Miami drafted him and Harris with their first 2 picks, it would be an A+ draft right out of the gate. (I would have said Harris with the early round 2 pick, but I don’t think he’ll be there)
I think Harris or Etienne will slide to the early 2nd round and I'd be thrilled with either one. After watching both of them play at very high levels yesterday, it's almost impossible to pick between them. Harris is a physical bruiser with elite speed while Etienne is the most complete back I've seen in quite some time. Either would be an instant upgrade and make this young offense a lot more dynamic.
After watching the Clemson v Notre Dame last night... I ***WANT*** Travis Etienne more than ever!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it’s not popular opinion to take anything in the first besides offense but I love the idea of taking a good defense and going for great. Would love to see Parsons and then a WR.
Can you imagine the contract implications 5 years down the road? Ouch.... Not that I wouldn't LOVE those 3 picks.
Agreed...if that's a possibility, there's no way they'd pass on Parsons. One draft philosophy is, drafting to your strengths. This team's defense is definitely its strength. Would love to see it.
This is where we stand with some games still to be played this week: Houston's remaining games: Bengals could be a win for them. Falcons: Two losses probably. Eagles: Two possible wins there.
Eagles may be worth watching because so many mock drafts have them taking a WR. I'm really hoping we take Ja'Marr Chase with our first pick but if for some reason the Eagles leapfrog us, it would be nice if Jaylen Waddle recovers from injury. And given how good our defense has been lately, even in containing mobile QB's which was a weakness early on, I wouldn't mind taking 2 of Chase, Waddle, Smith if that works out with our 2 1st rounders. Also need that RB, but thankfully there are several good prospects and we can take one in the 2nd. Get this draft right and we'll be contenders.
Even better is the Jests moving into the #2 slot and losing out on the Lawrence bandwagon. Justin Fields is a legit prize himself though, so they will still get a top notch guy.
It's the Jets, they might just draft the best tackle and keep Sam around. Or trade down for more picks and go BPA. Too much to hope they'd keep Gase around another year though.....
Justin Fields is Dwayne Haskins 2.0.. i hope the jets draft him.. when will people learn to stay awY from Ohio State quarterbacks... i have Zach Wilson rated higher
I like Haskins and think that he has a lot of potential. I could see Rivera benching him from a mile away, because of how his teams play, but that doesn't mean Haskins can't succeed somewhere else where he fits better with the coaching staff. I could see him stepping in once Roethlisberger hangs it up in Pittsburgh and doing really well. There are also a number of teams in the NFC that don't really have a long term answer at QB.
I didn't realize Jax only had one win as well! Now Trevor Lawrence and I are even bigger Jets fans for the next two weeks!
Oh, do the Jets lose the heads-up tiebreaker for the worst 1-loss team? That makes me giddy with excitement if it's true! We need the Jets to beat the Browns this week anyway, so hopefully it doesn't come down to butt naked last place tie-breakers. I have faith the Jets can legit be the 2nd worst team in the league before this season ends!
So the Houston pick could rise as high as 3/4 next week with a loss to Cincinnati or drop as low as 12/13 with a win and losses by everyone currently between 6 and 13. Go Bengals! Keep up the magic
Did you know we are the #1 defense in the NFL. #1 defense on third down. #1 defense in turnovers. We might be already great.. But I feel ya, if Parson is there I’m running the card up.
I was trying to be modest. When I think of great, I think 85 bears or those ravens defenses with Lewis and reed
Yeah, I really hope that I can watch the Bengals/Texans game on Sunday. It will feel almost like watching a Fins game.
I want us to draft a star WR with one of our picks in the first round. We have two, one of them should go to the wideouts.
Alright, here's where we are after everything in Week 15: For those interested here's how Tankathon have the first round going at this point: Not sure why they've switched the #21 pick from Etienne to Ossai.
If Atlanta wins and Houston loses next week... we get the 3rd pick overall. Houston plays Titans. Atlanta plays Buccs. Should be interesting to see how many starters will play next week for Tampa and Tennessee.. but the third pick overall possible.
I hate to say this, but I almost feel bad for Houston. They vastly overpaid for the best LT in the game and then the team basically falls apart. At least the draft can save them though....oh wait, #3 and #35 are going to Miami. That one decision set the franchise back 5+ years and it boosted our rebuild by at least a full season...maybe 2. I said back then, Tunsil was basically an "un-tradable player" due to his value to our team. Yet he wasn't worth anywhere near three 1st rounders and a 2nd. No player in the NFL is really. And honestly, we can't even say "Tunsil & Stills" anymore because we can sign Stills today for free if we wanted. We flat-out robbed Houston in that trade!
Yep. The Tunsil and Stills trade is worse than the Diondre Hopkins trade, but that's the one everyone talks about.
