Sure they can hope for teams, but anyone who is the "face" of the league is going to drive up that market and sell jerseys at a similar rate.

I'm talking about individual players not so much favorable matchups for viewership.

What I'm saying is more like...how popular were the Patriots before Brady? When you have the face of the league on your team you assemble an entire second fanbase of casuals who start following that team and raise its market.

I'm rooting for Tom and the Bucs next week. I have come to realize it isn't Brady that I disliked as much as it is Bill and I would love nothing more than to see Brady back in the Super Bowl with a different team the Year after he moved on while the Patsies sit at home.
My #2 team has been the Packers, a distant 2nd, but as time has gone on I have developed a strong dislike for Aaron Rodgers. So I am all about the Bucs this time. Plus it would be cool for the Bucs to play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium. It's never happened before.

It really doesn't matter who wins this game though, I don't think either of them can beat the Chiefs or the Bills.
And I hope it's the Chiefs!

Always root for the Dolphins over anyone else. In the absence of that...

Always root for the AFC team over the NFC team...save the Patriots. NEVER root for the Patriots.

I'll never root for an AFC East team, and that includes Indy since they were part of the division when I was younger. Nothing makes me happier that a Phins win and losses by those other 4 teams. And when those 4 teams play each other i root for a tie.

I'd be surprised if the team's bean counters don't put a bug in the owner's ear about playing him this week. About to begin a 10-year half billion dollar deal might make management leery to see their prized asset get hurt again. We've seen too many players find recurrent concussions to be a continuing occurrence. By the time he quit, Troy Aikman was collecting concussions without his head being struck.

The last time I rooted for a divisional opponent to win the Super Bowl, because they'd never won one, they ended up getting 6. Not making that damn mistake again. To hell with the Bills. I picked Green Bay earlier in the season as who I thought had what it took to win the Super Bowl, I'll stick by that and pull for them, regardless who wins in the AFC (rooting for the Chiefs hard). I don't believe the Chiefs or the Bills would have a chance against Green Bay's OL...Rodgers should have a field day, should they get there.

And I hope Marcia throws 3 picks, at least. Though I have to admit, he did better this year than I thought he would. He looked terrible toward the end of 2019. Then again, having an all-world receiving corps had quite a bit to do with that.

Well Mahomes is listed as out for the AFC Championship game against Buffalo. Looks like the Bills stand a decent chance of making it to the dance

Mahomes is not listed as out. I don't know where you received that info. All indications are he passed the concussion protocol and will play.

Wait a second. I saw a flipping video that he was out. Cowherd calling for the game to be postponed until Mahomes could play.

I want Packers and Bills. Eff Marcia Brady and the bowlegged billy goat he rode in to town.
And I really want the Bills to make it to the SB. And lose. Again. To be the undisputed Champion losers of all time with an 0-5 record in the title game.
No Soup for You Bills fans, you lost all your bowls!

Wow, Brady in the SB without Belichick. I wanted GB to win, but am still VERY happy Brady is showing his success isn't mostly due to Belichick and that Belichick without Brady turned into NE's first losing season since.. pre-Brady LOL.

Halfway to a nightmare Super Bowl. Brady and the Bucs are in. Green Bay had plenty of chances and Rodgers could have used his legs at times but tried to force passes or take sacks instead. I think he is done as a top QB and the Packers let their last, best chance at another Super Bowl slip away.

With Tom Brady going to yet another Superbowl gives most Patriot fans something to cheer about since most are still rooting for him. It has been unbearable for years and it just keeps going on. Maybe one day we will have a Superbowl with the Patriots vs Tom Brady's Bucs! Wouldn't that be great!!!

I don't think the Patriots will be going back to the SB for a long time, long after Brady retires.

That's not really a fair statement to make. Brady has been in the league 21 years, 20 of which have been with Belichick. You can't honestly tell me or anyone else that Brady's success in New England was exclusively Brady and Belichick had nothing to do with it.

At this point in Brady's career, with all of his experience and what he LEARNED under the tutelage of Belichick, Brady is a player as well as a coach on the field, much like any other long tenured quarterback ie; Marino, Elway, Manning, Brees.

Brady is Brady not only due to his own talents, but the years of education he received under Belichick.

Well with the Bucs making it to the dance, I'll be rooting for the AFC team, whether it's Buffalo or Kansas City. I hate Brady more than I hate the Bills or the Chiefs.

Who said any of that? Once again you're not reading what people write correctly. I said this is showing Brady's success was not mostly due to Belichick. Does that in any way imply what you said? No. Not even close.

Brady and Mahomes, the legend versus the challenger.

For all his improvements this year, the Chiefs defense made Josh Allen look more like last year's version than this years. Anyone putting him on the same level as Mahomes was kidding themselves, dude is just crazy good.

And Jesus Christ Matt LaFleur ... what the hell are you kicking that field goal for bro?

As much as I would have loved to see Buffalo fall to 0-5 in SB's, this Mahomes v. Brady matchup is much more exciting.

On another note, this was Buffalo's peak. They don't have the capital to improve much more than they're at right now, at least for the immediate future. Conversely, Miami's peak hasn't been established yet. So much capitol, young talent, and improvements to come. I see this division going our way in 2021 and beyond.

Editing the post per request from Galant:

Saying Brady's success was not mostly due to Belichick does not in any way imply Brady's success in NE "was exclusively Brady and Belichick had nothing to do with it".

Maybe a simple example might help. According to your "logic", if someone says "the class is not mostly male" then that means "it's exclusively female". Think about this dude. If a class has 20 females and 19 males, then it's "not mostly male". Does that imply it's "exclusively female" like you're suggesting?

IF you understand this, THEN try the same logic on Brady and Belichick. Also, IF you understand it, THEN try to remember this for next time because you've been responding like this to me for years.

No, I have no issues with reading comprehension. I read and comprehend what is written quite well.

Perhaps instead of becoming instantly combative and replying with belligerency...elaborate. I actually felt my reply have some credence to your point, Belichick vs Brady but instead of discussing, elaborating, clarifying...you elected instead to lock and load with belittling personal attacks. Enough...

Brady knows what he knows and developed into the player he is due to the tutelage he received from Belichick.

    Marino/Shula
    Montana/Walsh
    Manning/Dungy
    Brees/Payton
    Mahomes/Reed

No great quarterback becomes great without great teachers. A student is not an instant master...but with great teaching can become a master. Under the tutelage of Belichick, Brady has become a master. There’s nothing more he can be taught (virtually) which is why he was able to excel in Tampa Bay. Arians was smart enough to know to surround Brady with the weapons he needed in order for Brady to demonstrate his mastery of the game.

Because this specific reading comprehension issue with you (like.. EXACTLY the same thing about not understanding the difference between “most” and “all”) is a pattern that’s been going on for YEARS with your responses to my posts! And most of the time the context is the same: importance of the QB.

Can’t ask people to just ignore a past like that. I’m generally a patient guy and take the time to explain, but when the exact same issue keeps reoccurring with no end, no I’m not going to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Best way to avoid this in the future is for you to not make that exact same faulty inference again.

It's win or go home and they kick the FG. Probably the worst call I've ever seen in the playoffs.

Well, It's right up there. The worst call ever in the postseason was Carroll trying to get cute and throwing for a touchdown and the subsequent pick that came with it rather than having Lynch just pound the ball in. Worst call ever and worse still is he handed the Pats another title with that! Just awful.
