With the lower cap number, I think that it is safe to say that we are gonna see a lot of 1 year deals where guys simply bide their time until the cap goes back up.

Now obviously, this will not apply to everyone. I still expect to see crazy deals on the first few days of free agency. But I think there are gonna be a lot of guys facing a harsh reality that the current cap will not give them "fair" value.

I think Miami is quite possibly the best in the country for an athlete to spend a single season. I think it might be wise for us to essentially use this to our advantage and rent some of these guys for a year. I think that this could also help us avoid having to hold the bag on bad contracts that have plagued us in the past.

Curious to see if you guys thought that if this is a good idea or would rather take a more traditional role in free agency.

Sure you could take a few guys on one year contracts but what I would like us to do is try to fix one maybe two of our weaknesses through FA. If I were in charge, I would try to bolster both lines in FA get either a good LB (David) or WR (Godwin) and try to get the rest of the missing pieces through the draft.

It might be just me, but it seems that the top end FA players rarely seem to live up to the expectations. You get good deals in the upper-middle/middle tier and can find jems.
