https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports...0210315-xguzvvlalnajxnmi7nh6jr34lm-story.html Per Dave Hyde: "Calvin Jackson, who played six seasons in the defensive backfield for the Miami Dolphins in the 1990s, died after an illness. He was 49. Jackson was a local star in Broward, playing at Dillard High and becoming one of the “Dillard Five” to attend Auburn. The five players - James Bostic, Otis Mounds, Brian Robinson, Frank Sanders and Jackson - became prominent players in Auburn’s success. Jackson went undrafted but was signed by the Dolphins in 1994. He bridged the Don Shula and Jimmy Johnson eras, initially playing as a nickel back but moving into a starting role in his third season. He was the regular starting cornerback in 1996 when he had three interceptions, returning one 61 yards for a touchdown against Pittsburgh. Jackson started 57 game at cornerback and safety for the Dolphins before leaving the team in 1999. He remained in Fort Lauderdale after leaving football."
Very sad news. I played against him in high school- Dillard dominated us every year (I went to Nova). Did anyone see what illness he died from? Curious if it was COVID.
