Well, the majority seems to be of the same thinking as you. I'll take you guys' word for it. But it seems like an odd rule that an employer can't be offered a choice between taking a position with less responsibility or unemployment. But again, I don't know that it's NOT a rule and several of you say that it is; so I can accept that.

    What a minute...

It said there that CAM CAMERON told the team he'd be back...

    That doesn't mean jack.

What he says or does is nothing...its what PARCELLS says and does.

In the end, if he gets canned, he'll say that "Up to that point, I didn't know anything except that I would be back to coach the Dolphins."

Which would be true since he hasn't been fired...YET.

Maybe Parcells informed him already that he will be back. Maybe that is why he told the team this. I dunno.

I really like what Cam was doing with the offence i think he need to be a little more strict with the players though he cant let them walk all over him but i am happy that we are going to get a New GM i think Muller need to be gone

I think Cameron would make a nice coach somewhere but not a Head Coach....let him gain a little more experience and then be given another shot somewhere. His play calling leaves a lot to be desired....he doesn't manage the clock well, doesn't throw a red flag (like today when Chad Johnson stepped out of bounds on his TD run).

I think it is time for the Tuna to clean house, and send Cam and Randy on their way.

Jerry Jones said in a Dallas newspaper that Ireland can't move until after the draft. Weather that's true or not I'm not sure, but I like what Mueller did this year. I saw it written somewhere that Mueller dosen't play well with others and everybody knows neither does the Tuna.

Well apparently Mueller is on the way out. I think the Ron Wolf sighting is very telling. BTW, Ireland doesn't have to be GM to make an impact on this team. He could simply be assistant GM if Wolf comes on board.

Its going to be interesting to see what happens. Did everyone see the Parcels interview where he said he was disturbed by the long IR list. He said he didn't know why it was so long, whether it was conditioning or whatever but that he would guarantee it will be 20% of that next year. Sounds like he is not very impressed in the way the Dolphins were prepared this year. Take that and what someone said about how he didn't like that Cameron didn't work late in his job if that is true it makes you wonder.

The injury list is heinous yes, but its largely composed of freak things. You cant work out and bust balls in practice to the point where your ACL is made of titanium for muscle. It might help condition you for the aches and pains, and it will let you play harder longer, but for many of the injuries it would have been useless.

i think it would be best for parcells to bring in a GM he can trust and ireland seems like that guy

as for cam, i am a little conflicted. i was thinking about the season as a whole and man, trent green at QB seems like a whole other age ago doesnt it? nearly all of us in the beginning of the season were in agreement that something really good was going on with the offense

in other words, i wonder how much cam will be judged on these injuries. i say our opening day roster staying healthy does much better than 1-15 with the current rabble. not playoffs of course, but still.

i know parcells went on his rant about injuries, but if trent green was deemed healthy to play, is there anything cam could have done to prevent a knee shot to the temple? anything to thomas' head issues? anything to the knee ligament tears? we know that ronnie appeared to be in the best shape of his life

Jeff Ireland can take the job as it is a promotion. Everybody in the football world knows that "General Manager" is over the "Director of College Scouting" or "Director of Pro Personell" or whatever.....

The Miami Dolphins have a promotion in line for Jeff Ireland. That promotion is the title of "General Manager".

The General Manager in Dallas is none other than Jerry Jones. His official title is "Owner, President and General Manager". So once again Jerry Jones ego is the demise of the Dallas Cowboys. :bighug:

If Cameron told his team he's returning next year, then I'd be willing to bet he's not going to lie about that...

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. If it was, what would prevent teams from hiring OCs as Superduper Offensive Coordinators or DCs as The Ultimate Defensive Coordinator? Basically, if the Dolphins managed to land Ireland in spite of everyone knowing that said promotion only existed on paper, it would pave the way for other teams inventing ostensibly promoting positions and ultimately ridicule the whole promotion concept. As much as I'd like to see Ireland in Miami, I can't imagine that Goodell opens this paticular box of Pandora's. The best way, in my opinion, would be to retain Mueller until the draft and hire Ireland afterwards. The last thing this team needs right now is a long and possibly futile conflict about contracts and Parcell's actual role that might very well end in a compromise which could cost the Fins a draft choice. Even if the league was to eventually decide in favor of the Dolphins, the Cowboys will fight long and hard (they stand to lose all of their draft data, after all) and we're likely without a GM in the most crucial time of the year.
