Over Smith, Chase, and even Pitts? I haven't really watch much of Waddle at all. For a good while he always came in third in the WR1 discussions, behind Chase and Smith. Thoughts?
How come nobody says anything about Waddle's size? He looks 5'10 180 soaking wet. All I hear about is Smith's size.
He has a history of being injured, right? Would anyone be shocked if at some point in the 2021 season we had Parker, Fuller, Preston, and Waddle out with injuries? History with each player says it's more likely than not. Not sure Preston even makes the team this year, but my point stands. Waddle is a luxury pick for a team that already has two reliable, usually healthy pass catchers. We have ONE like that in Gesicki. I'd be cool with grabbing Waddle at #18 if he slips that far, but no way at #6 or a bit later if Miami trades back again.
Only way Preston doesn't make the team is if he is hurt or traded. The guy is too cheap to let go and has proven to be a fine wide receiver. He is worth keeping even if he is a healthy scratch to keep until Fuller or Parker are hurt. I will even contend that there is a better chance that Parker is not on the team this season than Preston.
It drives me nuts that our most reliable WR isn't even a WR. They should offer Gisecki a minority share in the franchise on his next contract for all the time he's spent alone in that WR room, LOL.
I agree. I'm not a big Williams fan but he's worth keeping around as a fourth or fifth option just because he's not making any money. If he's lining up as the number two guy for the majority of the season it's not going to be good. Honestly, besides his size I don't really see anything else about him that says NFL wide receiver. Not a big Parker fan as a number one guy. I think he will make a fine compliment to a true number one though. He should stick around.
