Someone is going to get an Aaron Rogers steal if that's the case. I still think San Fran would be crazy to pass on him for Jones or Lance.

To be fair, San Fran's handling of their QB situation has been questionable the last 10 years.

    Gabbert over Kaepernick, anyone?

Kaepernick was a train wreck. That's why he got benched.

If Kaepernick was a train wreck, then Gabbert is the Chernobyl disaster.

This headline reminded me that I have epilepsy, LOL. That's how irrelevant this probably is to his football career.

I probably shouldn’t be laughing at your medical condition. But that’s hilarious.

Fields looks like a monster and 2nd best QB in draft. Hoping New England doesn’t find a way to draft him.

I'm curious, were you highly active in sports or a physical career in your early 20's? Did it limit you at all....or did you have warnings from your doctor not to do x, y, and z?

I'm asking because I don't know anything about the disease or the lifestyle changes it may require. You have a unique position to educate us here!

    It says ownership/Gm/Coaching were bums.

Do we really need to relitigate how stupid the league was about this?

His style of play (low completion percentage/one-read-passing) isn't sustainable in the NFL.

There's already articles wondering whether the Ravens are going to re-sign Lamar Jackson after his rookie contract is up because of the same reason.

He was warming the bench because of his piss poor play before he got benched way before he started his bull****. Revisionist history at its finest.

Hmmmm, let's look at the coaches who made that decision, shall we?

Jim Tonsula: Hasn't had a head coaching job in any capacity since.

Chip Kelly: Hasn't been in the NFL since, and is currently the head coach of UCLA, who, under him, has a stellar record of *checks notes* 10-21.

Ever since the 49ers forced out Harbaugh, they've been making roster decisions with clown makeup on.

    Also, back on topic.

If the 49ers let Fields slide, they need to fire their whole staff.

This. I just cannot fathom trading 3 first round picks for Mac Jones.

No QB with his credentials has been treated the way he was. None. The only revisionist history here is yours, trying to push some agenda since you keep bringing it up. We know what you're about.

My experience tells me Fields' epilepsy is probably a non-issue.

Except in extreme cases where it's really severe, it really shouldn't impact quality of life or one's ability to work normally. Not to down-play it but normally it's pretty ho-hum. If it wasn't well-controlled then we'd likely know about it. Typically epilepsy occurs in kids, disappears in adulthood and maybe re-appears in old age.

It's almost always something you inherit from a parent. My dad had it pretty bad as a younger kid. It didn't re-emerge until his 70s. Thankfully for most, it doesn't involve life-interrupting events. It shows up at some point. For me that was 4th grade. I had a few grand mal seizures in my teens. That's where "break-through" seizures can happen even when you're on medication.

But by the time you're in your 20s it's usually something you don't worry about anymore. It either disappears entirely or it's well-controlled with common drugs. And thankfully, those drugs normally don't have any major side-effects. I still take pills for it daily but it's a total non-issue now. I'm 35. Haven't had a big grand mal seizure in 15+ years.

Not to suggest some folks don't have it really badly to the point that medication doesn't fully control it but I think my case is typical. I have to assume that if this isn't widely known about Justin Fields then it's likely he either out-grew it or has it well-controlled in which case it's a total non-issue.

Okay, thanks for sharing that! Since Fields was a college starter, it would make sense that it's a non-issue then.

Silver brought it up. Not me.

He was not performing and got benched for Gabbert before his antics. Now you can try and come back and say it was a bad coaching decision, but his play was below mediocre. His best total QBR according to ESPN the year he got benched was 49.2. Cam Newton this year was 47.0 and Tua was 52.5 this year just for reference. Kap the year before benching was 43.7. If ANY Dolphin QB had those ratings he would be fried and skewered on this board like no other.

Didn't San Fran go pretty deep in the playoffs that prior year though w/ Kaep? Or was that a few years earlier?

Of course I also have to state the obvious- ESPN's QBR is garbage.

If you are suggesting Miami take him, I personally wouldn't really be thrilled but I also wouldn't hate it. I just have more desire to give Tua a real shot than to try and draft his replacement. I think the "competition" arguments are total garbage.

However, in terms of a trade, I am all for it if Pitts is gone.

I haven't looked that close but its the same metric for everyone - just used it for illustration. He took them to the playoffs in 2012 and 2013 and looked really good. The next two years were a struggle.

Yeah, it is garbage. But using it as a reference helps you understand the play of Kap. When you realize his QBR was below Tua and Cam, you understand how poorly he was playing, because you know what Tua's and Cam's play looked like at their QBR.

    If that makes sense. Lol

If ESPN's QBR is garbage - which it is - then it has no value as a reference.
