But are they a level below Chase or Pitts that's the question, when we had the chance of any of them at 3.

I think they will look foolish if Pitts or Chase end up heads above the rest but they are in a position to get a top 10 talent at the position either way so I will feel hopeful even I will be a tad bit disappointed to miss out on those two.

I just don't get the obsession with Chase.

No, all four are elite receivers...just different traits. Smith= IQ. Pitts= size. Waddle= speed. Chase= power. All four can run routes, catch passes and contribute at high levels....so it's not like Waddle can just run/cut really fast. All four are incredible prospects and there's nobody in 2022 that compares- neither Smith or Waddle are a tier down from Pitts/Chase. It just comes down to what you value in a receiver.

I think you're thinking about this backwards- we didn't "move ourselves out of" anything. If they wanted Pitts or Chase, they would have sat tight at 3. They moved to 6 because they know the person they want will be available there. Maybe it's Sewell or Parsons, but I'm guessing it's Smith for obvious reasons (Tua connection, elite route running, plays super smart, etc.).

He's Jarvis Landry with more speed and power...there's a heck of a lot to like in that combination.

Most have Smith close to Chase, either slightly above, tied, or slightly below. Waddle is usually slightly below the other two, but has the most upside due to his crazy play speed. Waddle is the best fit of the three for the Dolphins as is, because of Parker and Fuller being so good outside, and his clear slot/gadget history at Alabama.

Just based on his play from last year Smith is the best WR prospect since J Jones, and the only reason he isn't the clear best non QB in the draft is his size. A size that gave him no issues in the SEC (best talent in college football) last year, but would be unprecedented for the NFL. Chase sat out, so his play is further back and who knows what he has become. When he did play last, he was great. Smith played better last year than Chase did the last year he played, and that is really saying something.

For Miami I have it Smith>Waddle>Chase. In that order, if I knew that Fuller and Parker were going to be heathy, I'd have to think hard about moving Waddle to #1.

I agree with that. I just don't see how people are so obsessed with him to the point of putting him head and shoulders above Smith and Waddle.

IMO, Pitts, Smith, Waddle, and Chase are extremely close to the point I would be happy with any of the four. The happiest with Pitts and the most disappointed with Chase.

Well, you have to wonder how much analysis people are making past what the media shares- they might not have seen tape and understand that these are four very talented players. I personally don't have a ranking....it's too close. Waddle may be the best fit of all for the Fins to be honest- he has Grant's speed and cuts like Barry Sanders....plus he can actually catch! He'd be a terror in the slot.

I would probably take Pitts, while I think the Fins takes Smith. I'd be happy with any of the four and ESTATIC if we somehow grabbed two of them. Really hoping Waddle or Smith drop out of the top-10 (which can't happen if we pick Smith at 6, LOL). So I guess I'm hoping for Pitts/Chase at 6 since they have the fewest chances to drop.

However, if we go OL early on or only grab one receiver, I really hope we have a shot at Toney in the 2nd round. I like him just as much as Waddle.

He’s a much bigger target than Smith and faster. Waddle was injured last year and we already have a who’s who of WR’s that can’t stay healthy.

Yea, but he isn't as good as a wide receiver as Smith. Smith is better at route running, beating the press, getting separation, and catching.

I’ve been seeing this for a couple days.
Worth considering if the board is dry at 18. Wouldn’t be a fan of a trade like this pre draft.

On the value chart 28 and 60 for 18 is close in value.

I still like trading out of 6. Pitts is really intriguing and I’d love to have him, but not at #3, and not at the expensive of a future #1 pick. Value-wise I have a hard time with Pitts at #6 as he’s a TE. If he doesn’t turn into an absolute generational talent I don’t think a TE is a good use of the kick there, and we already have a really good TE.

I hope we end up with Pitts, Smith, or Chase, but honestly the rarer most valuable player we should be picking at #6 is Sewell IMO. Its not exciting nor sexy, but I think he’s an incredible OT talent who would anchor our line for years to come.

WR are very hit an miss, top 10 OT almost always pans out. TE is tough to swallow this high in the draft, and while I’d be excited to have Pitts, I’m not going to fault them for trading back from #3 to pick up another first rounder.

That tweet reads "called into the Top 10" not 18. That would be a very costly move. Not sure they can afford it, and not sure we should even consider it quite frankly. Move back a few spots for an overpaying team? Sure, I'm down with that. Otherwise, stick and pick Chris.

    JMHO...

Seems impossible that a trade could happen here before the draft, if this is genuine, but should Rodgers be on the market, another QB hungry team might not be looking to trade up.

I love watching Rodgers, love him as a QB, but very glad I'm not a Green Bay fan. He's phenomnal, one of the aboslute bests, but damn if he doesnt' come off as selfish and not very likeable to me.

That said, it would be unthinkable for him to get traded to me.

No thanks...let him retire. We might earn a Super Bowl with him here but we'd be without a QB in the very near future. He could be one and done for all we know.

We've been without a QB for most of the last 20 years. I'd take a 2-3 year Championship window, then worry about finding another QB. That said, I think he'd be a Niner or Bronco if he really left Green Bay.

    .
Earlier reports were they were really trying to move into top 21 and get Caleb Farley.

Now today kicking tires on top 10 for Surtain/Horn I assume.

But I doubt they’re successful moving up that far... and revert back to original plan

Thought I’d fan the flames a bit and point out this Javonte Williams/#36 report. It’s out there. True ? I doubt it!

It comes from a Broncos writer and is intended to make Broncos brass look smart. Plus how would any AFC East rival know our draft plans ?

LOL, I think it was pretty obvious that we wanted a stud RB and we didn't pull the trigger on Najee/Etienne. I felt almost 100% certain that Williams was going to be our pick, so I would assume other teams did as well. I mean, why else would Denver leapfrog us? They clearly knew our intentions.

I don't see how we can look at the past two drafts and really say we can't imagine them passing on him especially since they passed on every other one. Definitely can't say its obvious or 100%.

Maybe it was my own prejudices then, but I was literally cussing Denver before the pick was even in. I just knew they were stealing him from us. =)
