Haven't you heard? Kaka is in trouble as well. Prior to this off-season, he was nursing knee problems, and working with the World's highest rated knee doctor based out of Belgium. Apparently, everyone goes to him, and his opinion is the best in the world. This off season, Kaka had surgery on the knee, but not with the Belgium doctor. I don't know why. Anyways, the Belgium doctor said the surgery was ineffective, as the problems in the knee are chronic, and require constant rehab. Rehab that Kaka stopped doing because of the surgery. So, Kaka seems to be back at square one, and I believe is working with the Belgium doctor again. Oh, by the way. . . . .
They brought a young team. Not sure how many guys above 23 went, but I'm not sure any of the established players went. The guy to look for is Sebastian Giovinco. Juve's wonderkid. The Italian Messi as I'd like to call him. You'll be seein plenty of this guy in the future and these Olympics are a great way to get a sneak peak of him. He scored some goal against Honduras in the prelim game. De Ceglie is also playing and could be a future star in the Azzuri.
Yeah, I have. But I really don't know how serious this injury is in this case. According to goal.com (8/7/2008) Massimo Manara (Milan club doctor) talked about the condition of the injured players (8/6/2008)
Thanks for the update. I really haven't been following closely as of late. That is very refreshing to hear.
At the Olympics: Italy beat South Korea 3-0 with Rossi, Rocchi and Montolivo. Brazil beat New Zeland 5-0 with Dinho twice and Pato once.
http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/Schedule/FB.shtml That's a good site to follow the soccer at the olympics.
Saw this yesterday. A futsal pitch next to Shibuya crossing. Nothing like playing off a rooftop in Tokyo.
Heck of an initial week-end on the pitch. Valencia was superb. They've got the old horses in Albelda, Morientes, Angulo, Baraja, with Silva who just reached a 5 year deal, Villa, a secret no more, Mata rising, Miguel and Zigic I've always liked, and Ever Banega, Gago's successor at Boca. Really attractive team. In le Championnat, Lyon's reign could be coming to an end. We're only past day 2 but no one will convince me that Lyon of the last year would put up a donut against Lorient. No one. Marseille, with that firepower up front, Niang, Cissé, Valbuena, and Koné, bares watching. And le Parc was once again alive and well, with Maka providing inspiration, and Hoarau as the lone striker, very active in communicating, and give and goes with the wingers.
I don't want him, f him. He left for money and because his wife wanted out of Italy. Forget him!! Go back to sitting on the bench on Chelsea. We find out contract details (purchased/loan etc) on monday. I hope we only loaned him, I don't want him to be part of the near future's plan. If Boriello didn't get injured, I would be extremely upset here. But we do need a striker.
I know what you mean T I had similar feelings when the "Sheva back to Milan" rumours started, I didn't want him back for the same rea$on you've mentioned and I'm sure other Milan fans feel the same way, but personally I can't forget all the victories and goals he scored wearing the Milan jersey and after all, he gave us the best seasons of his life IMO. I'm not saying I have to like it but I have to accept it, even after what he did, I will give him a chance, besides I can't do anything about that except supporting Milan. I hope he will score many goals for us. I'm still curious if Milan buy him or loan him.
Since we do not have any real good fowards, I personally feel good having Sheva back, which would give time to Paloschi to mature. Sheva can be the short time solution.
We are kind of desperate on forwards. Paloschi and Pato have a ton of upside, so I guess I will support the return of Sheva to fill in the gap. Gio, you’re right, when you put it into perspective, he did play extremely well for us, and we do owe a lot to him. If us Dolfans can give Ricky countless chances, why not Sheva. It should be an interesting year for AC – except we are spectators in the Champion’s league. Here’s to a dominant season for AC Milan!!!
I feel pretty good about our team this year, the only thing that really start bothering me is the strong possibility that Kaka will be gone to the Chelsea after this season. Appear that against all the "Kaka will not be sold" by Galliani, is already an agreement in place around 100 mills to move Kaka next year with Abramovich, of course are all speculations, but I believe that is some truth in this one. Since Berlusconi for political reason, did step down a little and he's son took over, with a constant crying about money, I will not be surprise if this deal materialize.
I’m afraid that may happen too, but either yourself or Gio posted a quote by Galliani saying that the only way to cure AC’s financial problems was to sell a marquee player like Kaka or Pirlo. I think it is inevitable, despite what reports come out of AC camp. It is unfortunate, but maybe, just maybe, Kaka’s best years are behind him, especially with the lingering knee problems. Why not take the $100M, regardless of how much it hurts.
I do agree with you, Kaka he's incredible and i would love to keep him, but Milan needs to get younger and competitive again and if let Kaka go would resolve the problems, I'm all for it.........and maybe after couple of years we can get him back for less then nothing, ala Sheva.

Zenit beat Manchester! First major trophy for Russian Soccer! Great job by those guys and gg by Manchester.
Eriksson is learning on the job, and his Mexico roster looks good http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/luis_bueno/08/29/pachuca/index.html http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/soccer/08/29/mexico.blanco/index.html
haha, nice!!! Inter tied today. I can't stand that team. And Cassano had a chance to make it 2-1. He was virtually one on one with the keeper and lost control of the ball. That would've made my day. but a tie is pretty good too.
Wow, Italy just beat Cyprus 2-1 in the 92nd minute. For some strange reason Italy always suffers in September in all international competetions. The international team and the club teams. To need a last gasp goal to beat Cyprus is scary. I hope they get it together, even though they usually do.
Like you said, this is normal. I'm not worried at all. It is a little emarassing though, needing an injury time goal to beat Cyprus. Oh well, it's the first game under Lippi, he'll get this group together.
Just back from Macedonia where Scotland lost 1-0 , never even got into the game despite having a ticket due to the worst Police decision I have ever seen. About 3000 traveliing Scotland fans , only 1000 official tickets rest of us in the home end (remember we had 25000 in Paris with no arrests at the game). Police decide we arent getting in , its 38c outside and us wee Scottish guys aint ever seen that much heat in our lives so we are sweating like murderers and burnt to a crisp having waited 2 hours already trying to get in. Ended up in a bar watching the game with about 500 other people Never ever go to that country , worst place I have ever visited (and I have been to some ****holes in my time) . Police state is an understatement and the number of people who tried to rip us off and see a Tartan Army as a walking cash machine is unbelievable. Scummiest people I have ever had the misfortune to meet. Some really nice people but way outnumbered by the arseholes. Thankfully we only went in on the day of the game and stayed in Bulgaria (200km away) for most of the time. Fantastic place , stunning women and cheap beer = quality holiday destination. Plus i got to see the Miami game in a bar on some 49ers fan slingshot via his laptop
