But if the car hits you it was your time to go. Why even look?

I appreciate that. I choose not to live my life in fear so I got it.

That's wild- I had no idea it wasn't law in all 50 states.

Do your cars ding until you put your seatbelt on? That's the main reason I always wear mine...it drives me nuts listening to that. My Subaru would keep getting louder and louder over a 2-minute period until it was basically like "full blast" of a car radio.

While I agree with your COVID/vaccine viewpoint, that doesn't mean the opposite viewpoint is living in fear. Resnor made an informed decision and he's been bold enough to talk about it here publicly. He is in the vast minority but that doesn't make his opinion "wrong." It just means that he sees it different than we do.

I understand the motivation behind just kind of not thinking too hard about it and settling on something that fits your prior convictions, but just ****ing do the basic research man. Viruses mutate randomly, and whichever one is most effective at reproducing itself is going to be more fit and spread. Sometimes that is by becoming less deadly and having more people walking around spreading it, but you've got to have some sort of selective pressure there- probably not a disease that is spreading just fine as it is. There's very deadly stuff that has been around for a very long time with no real selective pressure to get deadly and have only been controlled through public health measures, like smallpox.

Modern sanitation eliminated or vastly reduced these diseases, not vaccines.

If you're getting an injection of foreign material, because of a disease, how is that not a fear based decision?

Putting yourself intentionally dangerous situation is not what we should do. Dirt instance, when the devil tempted Jesus, he called on Jesus to jump off a high building, because the angels would not let Him hit the ground. Jesus did not do that.

Again, stepping in front of a moving vehicle is guaranteed to cause injury and harm. Trying to compare that to an alleged virus with a 99% survival rate is not even close to the same thing.

I know his decision has nothing to do with fear. I am just mocking the "I don't choose to live in fear" comment because its ridiculous. None of the decisions any of us are making are simply out of fear.

Everyone at least believes they are making informed decisions.

I can only really speculate what happened here but somewhere during your compulsory education you should have learned about smallpox vaccination/variolation. It's literally the first vaccine, the only infectious disease that has been effectively eliminated, etc. and so on. It's really common knowledge stuff my dude.

Yeah smallpox was eradicated through vaccines, not sanitation. Polio was also eliminated through vaccines.

It's called an adjuvant, something they inject with the vaccine to enhance immune response. They started doing that after there was a push to make vaccines out of only smaller components of germs or viruses instead of the whole thing. Almost all adjuvants are aluminum salts, and they've been used safely for over 70 years so there's no reason to be afraid of a vaccine just because it contains adjuvants.

Polio was eliminated once we stopped spraying our children with DDT, and stopped coating surfaces with it, and stopped spraying it on crops as a pesticide.

DDT absorbs into the myelin sheath around nerves. What a shocker that when we were poisoning ourselves with DDT we had polio.

Did you know that polio was very much like covid? Many people allegedly had it without symptoms.

Again, I know the mainstream arguments for vaccines. I've found other information that contradicts it.

    To each his own.

lol dude.. now you're just making up stuff. There is no "to each his own" with facts. Either it's true or false. Polio is caused by the poliovirus. You don't get rid of the problem until you get rid of the virus or prevent its effects. Besides, polio existed millennia before DDT was invented so how you think DDT causes polio (inferred from what you said by saying it goes away without DDT) is beyond me.

That one goes into the same category as the Earth is flat (well.. maybe not quite as bad, but close).

Cbrad, that just isn't true. Just because they find fragments of something, and claim it to be a virus, doesn't mean it is. Did they isolated polio virus following Koch's Postulate?

I'm not even going to get into flat Earth theory with you.

Article cherry picking quotes and meant to spread misinformation. C'mon man. Don't believe conspiracy theories. Also, it doesn't fit with the timeline. Smallpox vaccine was developed long before sanitation was found to be important for public health, in Europe at least. Furthermore, you can't eradicate a disease like that through sanitation alone. What other disease can you point to that no longer exists because of sanitation. Stuff lingers around. The eradication of a disease like smallpox was unprecendented. Can't do that without a targeted cure/treatment.
Yeah Pasteur was right. Are you now attacking germ theory? Dude we can identify the microbes and see them in action.

Good because the Earth being spherical not flat is so indisputable it would be ludicrous to argue against it.

So a wide portion of what is generally understood in re: to medicine and it's history is a lie, and there is additionally a worldwide conspiracy to maintain this lie for some sort of nefarious purposes... and let me guess, there isn't any sort of internally consistent takeaway here besides don't get vaccinated and allude to this conspiracy on www.thephins.com?

I mean at least tell me you're a microchip guy.

I think its going well. Everyone's been respectful. When we stop having discussions about stuff that's the problem IMO. I may not change your mind or I might see something that I have to take a hard look at.

The current level of censorship by big tech doing the governments bidding to promote a singular position, talking point or narrative is WAY more frightening then this virus ever was. I understand why it's done. Most people believe everything on the internet. Or social media. Twitter/Facebook and their ilk have done more damage to this country in a very short term then I could ever dream was possible. And that goes for both sides of the isle. But it really comes down to what it always has come down to, rich people controlling the content that people see. From scholarly writings in ancient Greece getting "discredited" to Newspapers in the turn of the century.

But were now told that you shouldn't separate the two. Keep politics out of sports is wrong. They have a "platform". So I guess we need to just figure out how to be respectful to each other and have grownarse discussions.

    Slightly left of center
I wear safety glasses when I'm working with power tools. Not because I have to, but because they help prevent me from losing my sight.
I wear Sunglasses out doors. Same reason., Not cuz I'm afraid of the sun.
I brush my teeth after every meal, OK that ones a little fear based cuz I'm really terrified of talking to somebody and having bad breath, but mostly cuz it helps prevent gum disease and cavity's and stuff that's really bad and gross. I could have an allergic reaction to the foreign substance in the mouthwash, pretty sure it's happened, on the internet somewhere. But I know that gum disease and tooth decay can kill you. Lost a good friend, one of my first Captains to a toothache at 39 yrs old.
I buckle up, not cuz it's the law, because I might not die if things go all wheels up on me out of the blue. Seat belt might kill me but I like the odds. Air bag too
Sunscreen, you palefaces maybe, that stuff smells gross. But I don't go laying around baking on the beach and I'll cover up if I'm out too long. Cuz skin cancer kills people, and I don't want to die.
When I get a cut, I clean it up, put neosporin and or aloe on it. Not because anybody is making me, because I don't want to get an infection and die.
All those things, even taking a bath and preventing head lice were voodoo witchcraft evil majic in their day.
Doctor gives you aspirin to help keep you from dying of a heart attack A small portion of the world is allergic to aspirin. Even if I'm not sure if I'm allergic to aspirin, if I'm having a heart attack and that's what means not dying I'll chew em up like tic tacs.

Vaccines are just the same thing, all grown up and smarter. Here's this thing that will kill you if given the chance (gingivitis/COVID), and here's this tool (toothbrush/vaccine) that can keep the bad thing from happening to you x out of y times with a really really tiny fraction of the time you could get injured or perhaps even killed by the tool. Millions and Millions and Millions of safe and effective vaccines given.

Or how bout this even. The aliens are coming, the government knows they are coming and when they get here they are going to conquer and enslave us all. The US and Gov'ts around the world call on every man and woman who can pick up a rock and fight to band together and protect the children, secure the future even if it means most of us die, would ya do it? How about if like 25% are gonna die, and we all know it? 10%? That low enough risk? 2%??? How about like .0005% ?
Step up to the line, pick up a rock already.

I think it's probably that team spirit common bond against the common enemy that has our team where they are with 85% vax rate. Besides protecting themselves and their teammates they have to know how much of a competitive advantage it is. Not just for the players but the rest of the team. The facilities get to stay open and staffed, trainers, physicians, cooks, practice refs, groundskeepers, and all the support crew are included in that number too so all the support team is present and balling all season. We are seeing athletes missing their chance at Olympic competition. MLB is still having outbreaks and so on, and we have to travel to London this yr too where the Delta variant is raging.

Politics aside I am proud of the culture being established for this team. In everything they do they seem to be very aware of the world around them while remaining laser focused on their core.

I'm a what? They definitely have the technology to put in microchips. But they don't need microchips. We're all being tracked and monitored already with our cell phones.

I don't care of you choose to get vaccinated. If you believe you are making an informed decision, you do you. I don't think these injections are good, and there are many side effects that aren't being talked about. The blood clotting could be a much bigger issue than you are being told.

Yeah, I understand that anything counter to the mainstream narrative is considered to be a "conspiracy theory." I understand that most people will label something a "conspiracy" that way they can simply ignore the information.

There are many, many doctors out there saying these things. And they all get removed from mainstream sites like YouTube, so you end up in places like *****ute and rumble.

But of course, the issue is, that the information doesn't get discussed. Instead, we all argue over the legitimacy of people's sources. Either what these doctors are saying is true, or it isn't. But just hand wave dismissing information because it contradicts a narrative doesn't seem like the best way of finding truth.

But neither is defaulting in rejecting every majority opinion especially when it comes to a topic like health.

It's alright to have a healthy skepticism in this day and age, especially with everyone obsessed with being on a political side, but you have to understand when healthy skepticism turns into downright disallusionment.

Well when I click links that say the smallpox vaccine was a lie and right next to that are articles that suggest the collapsed condo was destroyed by the new world order just like the World Trade Center its pretty hard to take that seriously.

Its funny how you say people hand wave things away while you do the same. People in this thread have disputed much of what you have said but yet you ignored those posts.

Dismissing something for being a conspiracy is probably not worse than dismissing something simply because its "mainstream".

    Lol

When any information counter to the mainstream is suppressed, then of course you're going to find all sorts of information on these sites. Some of it may be good, some may be bad. So, again, counter things with facts, instead of falling prey to cognitive dissonance and group think.

For instance, there is a ton of stuff in the article on smallpox that I linked to. You didn't address anything in that article. Instead, you try to find other things in the site that you think are ludicrous, as that allows you to then label the site as silly, and then you never have to consider the facts they present.

That doesn't seem silly to you? The link I posted regarding blood clots, from a doctor, do you disregard everything he says, simply because to put his video out, it HAS to be on bchute or rumble? Don't you think these people would rather be able to put their information out on bigger, more reputable sites? To have discussion?

Again, everyone can do what they want. I just don't understand this visceral reaction to ignore anything that isn't mainstream.
