There was no reason for St. Brown to still be on the board, but I don’t think falling one more pick would have killed him.
I'd have taken him at 3.7 if he were still there also. But I needed a third TE and the possibility of Long being our starter in 2022 was too appealing for me to pass on.
Yeah, Long was a good pick too. This game would be easier if I wasn’t the one making all the bad decisions.
Looking for TE or RB help with Pick Upgrade next year - Gage or Mike Williams most likely to be traded. Let me know if interested or have an offer!

Eskridge at least has a QB, so he has that going for him. I think Collins could be big if Houston can get a good return for Watson(maybe Hurts / Tua)
Collins also has less competition for targets. Eskridge will be fine I think but Metcalf and Lockett will get theirs also. There’s literally nothing in Houston that’s anywhere close to either of those guys. So IF Nico does his part, then there’s potential.
Do you think he’s going to regress this year? He was WR36 overall last year behind Julio and Ridley. If he slides into the WR2 spot on the Falcons like he should, his 110 targets last year go up to probably 130 or 140(accommodating Pitts into taking some of WR2 targets ) and he probably at least finishes equal if not higher. Hard to find a 3rd round pick that will finish that high imho. And this is no slight to your thought he’s not worth what I’m asking, more getting your opinion on his place. Thanks!
I could actually see his targets going down this year. Julio only had 68 targets last year, and the lead Atl RB (Gurley) had 34. They've now added Pitts and Mike Davis, who will likely get more than 100 targets combined. Davis had 70 on his own last year. While I like Gage as a player, for me he's in that Sterling Sheppard, Christian Kirk bracket. I know I might be being harsh on him, as he does have some upside and maybe he will end up at that Tyler Boyd, Curtis Samuel level this season - but I'd still rather roll the dice on a 2nd Rd pick such as Bateman, Toney or Rondale Moore than trade for Gage at that price. Just my opinion.
I appreciate it. Interesting thought on Julio and RBs. Hadn’t considered as much Julio due to the fact that Gage shine when Julio wasn’t there. Hurst had 88 targets which will drop probably around 25 or so to pitts. The RBs as a whole had 78 targets and they lost most of their rbs. So let’s say 60 go to Davis. That’s 68 from Julio, 25 from hurst, and then 18 to backup RBs probably. So about 90-100 open targets. Maybe pitts gets all of those. It will be interesting to see. Definitely see Gage as a help now player but could see a 2nd being high potentially, but it’s also a future 2nd to help. Could be just a 2023 2nd. Open to offers and ideas if anyone is interested. Thanks for your thoughts Simon!
