Miami Dolphins receiving corps in a Catch-22 - 09/11/2008 - MiamiHerald.com This move to get Ginn matched up on the #2 Corner? Hagan that much better at getting separation, route running, etc? Thoughts?
Hagan is a better route runner, his problem has been the same that haunted Chambers here, his head. He goes to sleep sometimes and drops balls. If Hagan could ever put it together, he has a ton of tools.
They are trying to get Wilford on special teams so they can activate him which means London would be inactive. Boy, they really think high of Wilford uhhh? London played very well on special teams last week, hope that does not bite us!
I've been saying this for the past 5 minutes, Derek Hagan is our best WR. But no one ever listens to me!!!
Well, I think Ginn is much more comfortable in the #2 WR position and I agree that Hagan is a better all around WR if he has his head in the game and makes the catches. I am also pleased that not only does the coaching staff, as well as the rest us, realize we must do things differently in the WR department and are making changes to find something that works. At least they are not sitting there hoping things work themselves out. We will see.
Well we finally got our TE that we've so desperately needed and that I've been forever wanting...now what I would give for a bonafide #1 WR. If Boldin was still (if ever) on the market I would greatly hand over a 2nd and 4th next year, eventhough I know our new regime more than likely would not.
I agree about Fasano. He reminded me a lot of Jason Witten on sunday. Thats a good person to remind me of.
This honestly makes sense to me. What the coaches are doing is rewarding performance. Of our young WR corps Hagan obviously looked good in practice so he is being rewarded. Like Sparano said, he isn't going to play a player who does nothing to stand out AND can not contribute on ST.
then he should have been rewarded game 1.....by maybe catching a pass? or having one thrown his way? did he touch the field?
Well, he did have two big drops in New Orleans so maybe that had something to do with week 1. I'm talking about this week and what he's doing in practice. He had a few plays last week, just didn't make it happen. Or maybe it has something to do with punishing Ginn for his lack of performance last week?
Chambers never had the problems Hagan had though. Chambers breaks your heart, but he was infinitely better than anything our current WRs have shown.
he was out there a lot, and Ginn was on the bench a lot... they rotated both of them in and out more than people think...
then thats even worse...he was out there alot...and is "good at getting open" then why didnt get any thrown his way?!?!??!? odd.....
i don't have the tape to break it down, but does anyone know the breakdown of where pennington was throwing it on the field? if neither ginn nor hagan had a lot of balls thrown to them, it could be that pennington wasn't even looking left. it also could mean many other things (he didn't have the time bc of the o-line, the middle was just open all the time, the receivers weren't running good routes, etc.) but just maybe pennington tends not to look that way? just speculating here.. if anyone has a tape of it did you notice if he was reading the plays in the same direction everytime or anything?
