On the heels of of the injuries to JK Dobbins and Justice Hill ... Both RB Gus Edwards and CB Marcus Peters are feared to also have torn ACLs and be done for the season. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...dwards-cb-marcus-peters-torn-acls-sources-say This could open the door for the Wild Card race a bit more depending on whether they suffer any more significant injuries, and whether Lamar progresses, regresses or just kind of stays the same. We also play them directly in week 11.
Sad for the injured players, but I dislike the Ravens unless they are playing the Pats or Bills, so.... yeah, this may clear up room in the playoffs and give Miami another path to get there.
I hate this kind of news and seeing anyone hurt...especially in practice...especially a few days before the season starts.
If we are counting on other teams getting injured so that we can sneak into the playoffs and this team is in real trouble going into the third year of a rebuild
I think you may need to readjust your expectations. The AFC is really top heavy right now. And year one of the Flores era wasn't really year one of the rebuild. It was year zero.
Injuries are a consequence of the game. Seeing benefit from others' misfortune portends bad things. I'm gonna have to sprinkle blood on something to send those spirits away.
It's not "counting on" but rather just "taking advantage of" - all winning teams and champions catch breaks. Part of winning it all is having everything fall into place in a specific single year. It is what it is, not like we control other team's injuries.
There is a lot that has to go right in a year. One of those things is injuries. No one is gloating about the Ravens problems. God knows we've seen enough of them but it does make things POTENTIALLY more interesting.
