His entire college highlight package seemed to be circus throws. Off balance, unrepeatable trick shots. But when I watched him play, I was never impressed with his ability to make normal throws or just play QB in a stable, controlled way. That's why I'm glad that the Jets have him, because I think that he's going to bust.

I do think he's talented and I can see the excitement around him, but I don't know if plays like that wins ballgames. The above clip is a 50/50 ball to a well-covered receiver. I think the bigger question is, should that pass have even been thrown? Those types of plays will lose as many games as they win.

I mourn the fact that that style of play has seemingly become the dominant one in college football, and what's worse, is now sliming its way into the NFL as well.

I mean, if you're down 7 late in the 4th quarter and it's 3rd down and long, then yeah....sling the rock and cross your fingers. But it's not an every-down type playstyle you build an offense around.

I don't know about that. The WR had separation. It looks like a normal deep ball throw. The only difference his he has a pass rusher coming right in at speed. He needed to keep his eyes downfield and focus on the throw despite the incoming Mack truck.

I think he will be a stud unless the line ends his career early.
