Grier should certainly be on the hot seat given how he's failed this rebuild.

Relationship with Grier and Flores is at a key point here IMO. The rebuild isn't working at this point; so what is it? Player/talent acquisition or is it a failure on Flores' coaching staff to develop the talent? This is the kind of situation that gets a HC and GM pointing fingers at one another to save their job.

I don't think Flores is the main issue here; however his inability to get the offense right is really tarnishing the good things he's accomplished through this rebuild. I look at yesterdays game as proof of his ability as a coach. We were pathetic for three and a half quarters of that game yet the team never quit, they hung in there to the end and mounted a comeback and almost pulled it off with a joke of an OL and backup QB. To me; that says something about his ability as a coach. We have been getting quite a bit the last two years out of players that aren't all that special in some positions. Sieler and AVG are two the come to mind without really getting too in depth on the matter. Offense is the real bad spot. Failure to build a staff. Failure to establish an offensive identity. I think he's done a good job getting Parker and Gesicki to both grow in the offense but outside of them who has really improved? Is there even room for improvement with some of these guys ? That brings us to Grier...

Talent acquisition however and the roster itself i think is where the big questions come on. The OL speaks for itself. Drafting Tua hasn't panned out thus far; there's still time however. Failure to address the running game. Jordan Howard and Malcom Brown aren't exactly the additions we needed. The trades... the inexplicable trades that don't even need to be mentioned; we all know them. Then there's the draft choices and use of the abundant resources we had. I think Grier did a great job ripping it down and starting over; but the restart itself has not been very good so far. Too many development projects, too many failed FA acquisitions, and some odd draft pick trades last year as well.

Either way Im starting to wonder when either Flores or Grier draws the line in the sand here and which one of them is going to point the finger at the other first for the failure of the team. Neither really seems like the guy to want to do that to the other; but when jobs start getting put on the line if this team regression continues then something will eventually give.

Ross has to step in. I think Ross finally got something right in hiring Flores. Flores is different than Sparano, Philbin and Gase because it's pretty clear that Flores is good at something, namely defense. OK, Sparano was good at fist pumping FGs, Philbin at making sure the field was clear of bubble gum wrappers, and Gase.. good at rolling his eyes in a psycho way I guess.

So this is ultimately Ross's responsibility. He needs to get rid of Grier and maybe have a talk with Flores saying he likes what he sees in terms of the rebuild on defense and the overall willingness of the team to fight, but that Flores won't keep his job unless he finds the right coaches on offense. Ross has to step in. Ross can give Flores cover to make big changes on offense.
