For what it's worth, here's some of Flores' comments today.

First some summaries from beat reporters:

PBP Hal Habib - Link -Dolphins' co-coordinators remain intact; Tua, Raekwon Davis healing (palmbeachpost.com)

    "No wholesale changes.

A day after saying all options are on the table, Dolphins coach Brian Flores took the most drastic change off the table Monday, saying he does not expect to make major changes to his offensive system, including to his coordinators.

“I like the system we have in place,” Flores said. “Obviously we haven’t had the success we want, the production that we’re looking for. I like our process during the week. I like our preparation. We’ve had some good plans going in. We just haven’t been able to execute. We’re not getting the results we want.”"

"So although Flores said he’s still “evaluating some things, I don’t expect any wholesale changes, if that’s what you’re asking.”"

"Help may be on the way. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered fractured ribs vs. Buffalo and is on injured reserve, has begun throwing, Flores said. One report indicated Tagovailoa could return against Jacksonville in London on Oct. 17, the first day he’s eligible to be activated.

In addition, Flores said he hopes defensive tackle Raekwon Davis (knee) can return to practice this week.

“He’s making a lot of progress,” Flores said."

"“There were some opportunities on downfield shots,” Flores said. “We have got to take advantage of those. We had guys open downfield; we have to take advantage of them. I don’t think we should force the ball down the field. If we need to check it down, we should. That’s the right play. Right now, we’re pushing it down the field late in the game because we have to. We need to do a better job earlier in the game of finding ways to create explosive plays. If we get opportunities to push the ball downfield, we’ve got to try to take advantage of them which we have not done.”

"Flores did not provide clarity as to who the play-caller is as speculation continues that quarterbacks coach Charlie Frye is, in fact, calling the plays. In recent weeks, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden have said that co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach George Godsey is calling plays. However, former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer said last week that Frye is the play-caller. Former NFL kicker and CBS analyst Jay Feely reiterated that statement during the broadcast of the Dolphins-Colts game.

While Flores has yet to divulge who is calling plays among Godsey, Frye and co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach Eric Studesville, he reiterated that Frye is the one who relays the play call to the quarterback."

He likes the offensive system we have in place?!? We're 31st in offensive points and yards and he likes the system?? As far as him liking the "process", no process is a good process if it doesn't lead to a desired result. And the result is abysmal.

I hope this is nothing more than diplospeak before major changes actually do occur. Thing is.. he didn't have to answer that way, so maybe not. Not good. It's like holding on to a bad investment hoping things will somehow work out.

If it's not Frye calling the plays then that's just another level of dysfunction. If one of the other 2 has to first give the call to Frye who then has to give the play to the QB they're just wasting pre snap time that could be used by the QB to make adjustments.

I don't get why the play caller has to be a big secret.

I’d consider moving him to the press box aswell… Young underdeveloped player who may need a few weeks to regroup during practice and find some self confidence.

Getting embarrassed every Sunday I don’t think is helping development.

So we’ve got 2 offensive coordinators but neither of them are calling plays….? How can you coordinate an offense if you’re not making the calls?

Well, if we go this entire season with one of the worst offenses in recent history with all the rules that now benefit offenses, I may have to change my stance on Flores.

Three guys running the offense which is 31st? And the process is good? It's simply execution? Who is responsible for players not executing? Looking at you Flores

Okay, I admit it...I'm actually calling the plays from my home in South Carolina each week. So if you want to see something exotic, just hit me up and I'll work it in, LOL!

On a serious note, I halfway admire Flores to sticking to his guns...and halfway despise it. If Brissett can't execute, then why aren't we signing a QB this week?

I get what he's saying- have faith in your staff and your players. That's admirable. But they have to execute and we're just not seeing any sign of this offense coming together.

I mean, why did we suddenly start throwing to Parker in coverage late in the game? And why was Parker so furious each time he made a highlight-reel catch? I saw a team that was self-imploding out there and the few veterans were mad as can be over the situation.

There are clips of multiple receivers running open and Brissett decides to check down anyway so maybe a lot of it is him but its certainly not all him.

None of this helps with Brissett being as awful as he is. I've watched Brissett play LIVE in person while he was a member of the Colts during the year Andrew Luck basically sat out due to injury. He was terrible! Terrible against the BENGALS! That Colt offense led by Brissett is EXACTLY what we're seeing in Miami right now. No downfield throws, all dink and dunk check down type of plays, very little run game to speak of, low scoring games, hardly any wins, just a **** season. Add to that, an already limited quarterback playing behind a work in progress offensive line and this is what you're going to get. Now the play calling itself has been atrocious at times (as seen in the Raider game). There's no excuse for some of the plays being drawn up and when they are being called, and when the right play is called or there's a chance to really air it out, Brissett plays it safe. It's way too conservative, and we can't afford a conservative approach because we have no running game to lean on. Conservative works when you can run the ball. We can't even get three yards on a tote. We have no lead running back. Again, RBBC works if you can actually throw the ball downfield. We're playing a conservative style with RBBC using middle of the road to below average NFL running backs. Jaylen Waddle is supposed to take the top off the defense. Instead he's relegated to playing the Jarvis Landry role. Short possession receptions of 5-6 yards while getting the crap beat out of him doing it. These guys are all playing roles they shouldn't be playing! How do you expect the offense to actually look?
With that said, I agree with Flores. The "process" or "scheme" is a good one, it's a good idea, but we don't have the personnel in place to get it done. The "tools" we have are of good quality. But you can't cut tile with a saw blade that's meant for wood. Mark my words, we will not win a single game with Brissett as the starting Quarterback on this roster. I'd personally be absolutely fine trotting Sinnett out there for a game or two, OR until Tua decides to come back. I don't even think we'll see Tua in London. It sounds to me like they are going to really milk this injury, maybe for his own protection and career at this point because I don't think Tua can get it done either. Still, there is a part of me that's holding out hope that the offense looks a lot different AND better once he does return. Until then, with Brissett...You can expect the losses to pile up. I doubt Sinnett will fair much better, but he at least plays with some courage, and hunger. So yeah, the play calling is weird and suspect, but Jacoby Brissett really has no business starting in this league unless he's doing it behind a competent offensive line with a solid running game to lean on. He's a game manager that has been tasked with trying to run an offense and carry it at the same time and he simply isn't talented enough to do so. Tua at least understands what it takes, he's just injured.

Yeah, I heavily disagree with this part. While he was indeed put on IR for his protection, I highly doubt they're milking this injury. Playing with broken ribs is a good way to get your lung(s) punctured.

Wait; he likes their preparation on offense and thinks they've come in with good game plans and just failed to execute? Uh... What?

No doubt they've failed to execute, that's obvious. However when I watch the offense on the field and the plays being called I don't understand how he can possibly say he likes their preparation and that they've had some good gameplans.

Coachspeak; and he likely doesn't want to throw anyone under the bus just yet. However for this team to had a good outcome on this season they're going to have to go on quite the run here. No doubt in my mind we lose to Tampa this week which puts us at 1-4. I doubt 9-7 gets you into the playoffs this year in the AFC, so... what the hell are you waiting for here Flores? The start to this season for the offense so far is more than enough justification to make some big changes. If we were 0-4 instead of 1-3 would that have been enough to make a change? Not liking his comments or direction here given how ineffective the offense has been.

9/7 isn't a full season anymore, we'd either go 10-7 or 9-8. 10-7 you might get a shot, but still probably not.
But yeah, coach speak or not, it's not a good look to say you are happy with your grotesque offense. Like, have a clue, read the room guy. Maybe look inward.

Flores is kind of stubborn, I hope he isn't going all in on sunk cost fallacy with his offensive choices because that's gonna land him a pink slip.

Sounds like he’s completely throwing this on the players because if you properly prepared, you should be able to execute.
