Now, how much of this is actually new?

    None of it.

What happened to all the guys saying this was likely to happen?

Let's find out as the rest of the no news Tweets roll out.

As an LEO do you have any thoughts on correcting the issue. Cause I just heard the best case for vigilantism for these type of crimes if it were my family.

Nobody was ever going to trade for him until his legal situation clears up. This has been the Texans using the media and the Dolphins general incompetence that has allowed this story to stay fresh.

Hopefully his legal issues are settled during the off season and we can get him then and get rid of ol' linguine arm

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of good answers here other than general guidance- being more aware of your surroundings, learn to protect yourself (self defense), carry a weapon (mace/firearm...but don't carry if you're not trained & ready to use), don't wander off alone at parties, have a dog at home.

During an assault- fight back! Even if you don't have a weapon, fingernail scratches or bite marks are often enough for identification and a conviction. However, it can also get you killed so if the attacker has a knife or a gun, the only goal is to survive. In any confrontation, the best course of action is fleeing...run and scream, give the attacker reasons to abandon pursuit. Or if the attacker loses sight, be that Olympic sprinter and keep running until you're with other people (don't go door to door unless you see help there, don't assume people will wake up and save you).

For the court system, report an assault as quickly as possible- the attacker is fleeing and still in the area. Details are key- tattoos, birth marks, hopefully where you tried to claw the attacker's eyes out and got his blood/skin under your nails. Did the attacker limp, did you see what's on his keychain, what vehicle he drove, etc...every detail is critical.

Most rapes are wrong place/wrong time and a good bit of them are also women living alone. The key is being seen as less of a target- don't make it easy for someone to take you by surprise. Have a roommate, have a loud dog, go places with friends you trust, don't get drunk in bars and parties and then split up. Don't EVER take a drink from a stranger at parties (including non-alcoholic) and keep an eye on your drinks (so they can't be spiked). The latest one for today's world is don't meet people online and assume they are who they say they are...never meet them 1 on 1.

The other Trade Day thread was about other trades etc.
The idea with this one was for people to try to predict what would happen. Not that people tend to stay on topic.

I absolutely do not want the Dolphins to trade any assets away today for any players.
I absolutely do not want Grier/Flores to add a bunch of salary to next year's team, because I hope that they are gone.

Let the next GM and coach make those calls in the Spring.

If they trade for him and they give up 3 first rounders and supposedly additional picks for Watson it would be the biggest mistake this franchise has ever made.

Watson hasn’t won ANYTHING. I’m not saying he’s not a talented player but he isn’t the savior of this franchise and paying a kings ransom for him without the baggage he brings is not worth it IMHO we have to fix the oline and defense / running back as well.

Today is a day for selling, not buying. If they can move X, Jones, DVP, etc. for decent compensation, I say go for it.

I don't know if they're victims or not. I know they're accusers. He's probably a dirtbag, don't get me wrong, but whether what he did rises to the level of a crime, I don't know.

What is the douche from the Houston Chronicle going to write, now that he can't write a Deshaun Watson to the Dolphins trade will happen in the next few days?

Sad that our team has so little to discuss besides the potential for setting our franchise back by leveraging our future for a QB who’s record is 29-35 with questionable judgement and character.

We already leveraged it on a small, week armed, injury prone QB, so why stop now

I didn’t want us to pick him either. But making more bad decisions after other bad decisions, well that’s been Miami football for 2 decades. At some point that has to change.

Id rather we keep our picks, find a different Gm, attempt to repair the OL and LB corps in next years draft. If Flo’s team doesn’t improve substantially and make the playoffs, fire him. And then hope we’re in a position to draft a franchise QB in 2023.

I agree with all of this except keeping flo. He needs to go at this point. That bills game was the most embarrassing display of coaching ive ever seen. Professional players being so checked out they cant line up properly.

I agree. If the evidence was cut and dry, he would have been arrested months ago. My only point through all of this is that doesn't make him innocent or guilty- sexual assault is almost impossible to prove.

That’s not what he’s saying at all and neither am I. As a retired MP, I know, understand and believe the burden of proof lies with the state to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that so in so committed such and such crime. In so much, as key pointed out, that’s where the collection of evidence depends on the accuser to provide said evidence for the state to produce in a criminal proceeding.

You can’t have someone make an accusation and expect the accused to be convicted solely based on an accusation. No one disputes that. Evidence needs to be obtained for an indictment, referral for trial and conviction. What makes this particular case damning for Watson is the sheer volume of accusers.

Are some of these women possibly jumping on the bandwagon falsely accusing Watson in hopes of a quick payday? Maybe…maybe not, but the preponderance of evidence…the likelihood that what’s being accused did or did not happen is sorely against Watson.

Why? The simple question to answer this is why have so many women one forward with such an accusation? And remember that Watson has admitted to sexual conduct with these women, claiming it all to be consensual. Now, whether it was or wasn’t, Watson put himself in a compromising position to be accused of such conduct.

Once upon a time, players in the NFL and other professional sports were looked upon as role models. It was a position that was accepted by most. It wasn’t all about them as individuals. That moral responsibility has been completely abandoned. Athletes are doing g what they want, consequences be damned and then pander to the sympathies of fans because of their great athletic talents.

If I can’t trust your judgment to keep yourself out of a potentially compromising position, regardless of your guilt or innocence then I can’t trust you to lead my team…no matter how talented you are.

    Attitude means everything

Flo insists Tua is his quarterback but the owner spends Monday night talking to Watson. This franchise is a tidal wave of dysfunction.

It's been this way since 2009, when Ross bought the team. It's never going to change as long as he is involved. One playoff appearance on his resume and even that was a fluke. He treats the Dolphins like one of his real estate buildings instead of a family, he has zero emotional investment. He's making money no matter what, that all he cares about.

To quote a bit from the linked article:

"Dolphins owner Stephen Ross getting permission to speak to Watson though is a public sign the team has given up on Tua and is reminiscent of when he tried to hire Jim Harbaugh when he had Tony Sparano under contract. Ross now openly has tried to move on from Tua and it is tough to see Tua being in Miami long-term."

Ross is his own (and Dolphin fans) worst enemy.

I love how, over the last couple of weeks, the trade for Watson was supposed to be imminent, but the Texans waited until close to the deadline to allow Ross to speak to him.

This story was garbage from the beginning.
