For those that didn't get to see the game, this is possibly my favorite play ever! Linemen across that nation were beaming with pride!
Yeah that was awesome. Not just that play, but that back-and-back-to-you-again between Tua and Gaskin showed that the players were really having fun. Never seen a 2-7 team play with such enthusiasm.
I'm so glad he came away unscathed by the whole thing. That landing deserved half a star at the most. Maybe we should try Hunt at running back? Or Wilkins for that matter? I don't know! That was such a cool sequence though and the penalty wasn't the least bit upsetting at all. It was totally worth it.
I wish this could have somehow counted. Obviously it was a penalty, but I just wish something else happened that would have made this a legal play for the big guy. That move he made, then the leap at the goal line with the reach to still get that ball over... just an epic play for a big man like that. It'll probably still be in highlight shows for years to come even as an "illegal play" but being legal... it'd be an all time great for sure.
These are the rules that need to change. Ditch eligibility. Let anyone catch the ball. Open it up and let them play!
If it was tipped, then it would have counted....I was thinking the same thing. An effort that epic deserves six points!
Erm... it's not really 'the' difference. Especially considering there are no forward passes in rugby. It would hardly be a step in that direction.
That’s what gives me hope about this team. They haven’t quit on Flores, they’re young and things are clicking. It’s always been a 4 year evaluation for me. I gotta say, Holland Philips are really starting to impress. If they can finish with 7+ wins, I’m ok waiting one more year on Flo/Grier. I still don’t love Grier but I think he had a good draft this year.
Giving up two firsts to move up for slot receiver Waddle was probably the dumbest move of the draft. It's right up there with Grier's decision to give up two second rounders for Rosen as one of the dumbest decisions he's made. Phillips and Holland will have to turn into HOFers in order to make up for that.
I don't think I can stomach a 7-10 season justifying Flores staying unless we play dominating football but somehow get really unlucky in 3 losses. I'm still putting the threshold at 9 wins minimum, meaning they can lose only one more. Sounds impossible? We'll see.. we have 4 winnable games coming up and if we get on a roll it isn't unrealistic. Either way, one thing Flores needs to seriously improve on is starting off good and not waiting till midseason to get the team playing well.
Rosen turned out to be an epic bust so there's no comparison there. Even if the Waddle trade itself wasn't good, if you can come away with 3 good starters (and Waddle is a good WR) from a draft that's a decent draft. So I have to agree that the 2021 draft may end up being decent, certainly a lot better than many drafts we've had recently.
I don’t like it either. IF they both end up as HoF, the rest of this draft doesn’t even matter. I’m optimistic about Liam but think he needs to be on the right side. Waddle will be decent to good. We’re underutilizing him but there’s not any receiver in the NFL that id pay a 12 and a top 10 pick for. That was just dumb.
I don’t like 7-10 either but I also understand that Grier gutted our 2 best OL and 2 of our top 4 pass rushers. Plus our starting QB has missed 4-5 games to injury and were very young. I don’t like excuses but if Flo can get this team to fight to the end and win 7-8 games, he buys another year. Actually, from the get go I thought he should get 4 years minimum unless he does something to completely blow it. Given the circumstances in previous paragraph, I don’t think 7-10 is fireable. Next year is playoffs or goodbye.
I wish the replay would have shown a DLine finger tip making it a legal catch. I loved that play. He was so proud on the sideline lol. I bet he's gonna frame that pic of him upside-down reaching over the goal. Hell, i might lol
I think my favorite play last night was that flea flicker screen.. that was pretty damn creative.. not sure if it was intended but with no defense in front of gaskin thats what you want out of a screen
And through it all the biased zebra blatantly claimed it was short of the goal line. If he was any closer he'd be under the pile and he still screwed up the call.
