Who else is still feeling good about the win over the ravens? I have been so down on this team this year when I had expectations of a playoff run. Now I know that's not going to happen but I feel like Thursdays game against the ravens was my Super Bowl for the season.

Tight / Contested Game where I was sitting on my hands every time Baltimore's offense got on the field knowing when is this Defense going to cave is it this drive?

I was so impressed with the Defense and seeing TUA get out there and get a little rythum and some confidence.

So now it's Sunday and I still have a Grin because I know I will have a good day because we won't lose again today :)

Anyone else still enjoying that win!!!

Yep - made even more so by the fact that I can’t stand the Ravens. Here’s hoping we build on that game and they implode.

They’ve owned us so it was nice to finally get a win against them. Plus it shows that there is some life in this team and last year wasn’t completely fools gold. I think the question is why did we see such a drop off on defense from last year? Does it come down to the strides our rookies are making, the shuffling of the deck on defense finally gelling or is Flo getting them more fired up? Either way, I just want to see us finish strong so we have some hope for next year.

The game has definitely stuck with me the past four days a lot more than I expected. This season, I sort of got into the habit of watching the game, saying, "Oh well..." and then moving onto my Monday. This week has been a very pleasant treat since-

    - We won on a short week
    - We shut down a top AFC team
    - We saw Tua play hurt off the bench
    - We saw the offense get super creative
    - We saw the defense play in championship form
    - We saw the best lineman penalty in the history of the NFL
    - We're on a 2-game winning streak....in five days!

I think the most exciting part is that a lot of you now see what I've seen and what I've been expecting to happen the past three or four weeks. This is not a "bad team" and we're not lacking talent...they just hadn't brought it all together yet. This 2021 Dolphins team with a lead- good gosh, I think they can be legendary on defense. I'm just really happy we all finally got to see it and toss aside some of that anger/hatred we've been feeling.

All I can say is, don't flip the script on this season....we're still a young, inexperienced team figuring a lot of stuff out. This one win means nothing in terms of growth. It does mean EVERYTHING to us as Fins fanatics, but still, be sure to temper those expectations a little bit in the weeks to come. For the record though, I think we win the next 4!

Don't know about grinning but I'm only just catching up on sleep. Went to bed at 0445 and was up at 0800 for work. At least this time it was worth it. Done it so many times before only to be both knackered AND disappointed.

@KeyFin i agree on all those points however that said I still believe we need a real OC and possibly a new defensive coach next year. If they retain / let go Flo or extend him otherwise we have a final year contract where everything g is second guessed from players to plays in the field and job security becomes the conversation

Very happy still about the win...however. We still have no idea what to do offensively. These wins happen. Look at what the cowboys did last week versus today. Teams can definitely play down to bad teams on any given day. It just happens we won on Thursday night. A historically toss up night where anything can happen. Very fun, but it doesn’t change my mind at all that our roster still sucks and Flores can’t find competent coaching on the offensive side of football.

It's always fun to watch the rest of the week's games after a Phinwin.

Pats do look solid though. Mac Jones looks good and that defense is nasty. We have our work cut out for us.

If we can keep our defense playing like that the rest of the season.. and not get away from that identity.. no matter the win loss record at the end, i feel good about next season so long as we keep our identity . We have to make that our identity moving forward if this regime wants to survive another season and beyond. But we also have to fix that offense.

id like our offense to look more like tennessee or cleveland. Elite Run blocking and power running mixed with accuracy at qb

I agree. First we need to fix our OL. I think we need to move Liam to RT, Davis to LG and then find a LT.

    LT- ?
    LG- Davis
    C- Dieter
    RG- Hunt
    RT- Eichenberg

has some promise if we can find that LT, maybe a Duane Brown if he hits the market.

I'll feel good if we can look good on offense and score a bunch of points vs the Jets next week. Beating the Ravens is nice, given how they've owned us for so long, but two very ugly wins in a row doesn't move the needle all that much for me.

That was not an ugly win against the Ravens. The defense was legit. The offense was ugly yes, but not the defense.

I agree that we need to put up numbers against the Jets though. After the 45-17 thrashing they received today, the Jets are dead last in points allowed giving up 32.9 points per game. The most we've scored in any game this year is 28. The Jets game needs to be the game our offense finally stands out a bit.

Flores and Boyer came up with a creative way to stop a unique opponent on Thursday. It was clever, effective, and likely necessary. But in two and a half years, they are yet to prove that they can field a "regular" defense that can stop opponents without resorting to extreme tactics. If they ever can, then I'll be OK with what they're doing on that side of the ball big picture.

But more broadly, since our offense hasn't been good, or even average, in so long, its very difficult for me to get all that excited until they do. That's who I am, and its why I watch football in the first place. A stable, consistent, reliable and balanced offense that can go out most weeks and move the ball via both phases and gain a bunch of first downs using regular means without relying on big plays.

All I can do is hope the day comes when we can do that again.

Not THIS week's version of Cleveland. :crapstrom:

Honestly, I think the Patriots are probably a good emulation point. Good, balanced offense with a strong OL, strong running game and a QB comfortably attacking the field. That complements an elite defense that generally keeps them ahead or at least within striking range.

I was going to say exactly the same thing- far from an "ugly win". That was coaching and execution as good as we've seen in this tenure of Flores and company.

When your defense dominates a team that good, and dominates a Qb that good, the rest of these games we should be hyped about.

It’s imo not that we won it’s how we won.

We when you play defense at the level it’s gonna be hard for any team to win.

We just need to let TUA grow into the offense a bit more he's more then serviceable. We need a Road grading Offensive line scheme and a STUD running back. We need to run consistently to open up the passing lanes. We need to invest in a nasty OLINE and a PREMIER running back none of this by committee crap.

I didn't get to see the game, just the highlights, but I was underwhelmed by the offense I saw and I'm not convinced the defence can keep that up. It'll be great if the D can somehow make this their standard performance, but none of this wipes away all the previous games.

If I had to put a positive spin on it I'd say that the loss of various veteran players caused a 'brain drain' on the team and that the newer, younger teams are slowly getting comfortable with one another. That's almost a truism, it will happen, and improvement will come with that. At best, though, that will bring us back to where we were last year, and we still have major flaws on offense, not to mention the play-calling.

So, the win against the Ravens didn't have me buzzing - maybe because I missed it. But it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Oh man, you have to watch the game- the defense slaughtered Jackson and frustrated the heck out of him. The offense didn't do much under Brissett but once Tua came in, they started moving the football decent. Very fun game to watch!

It depends on how well the team is doing, and what the situation is.

If we had beaten Baltimore that way to get to 6-4 and the offense had generally been playing well all year, then sure, you can shrug it off. But that's not who we are. So everything is open to critisism.

    We see things very differently.

I see everything as open to optimism.

If we win - great. Any objective analysis is welcome.
If we lose, lets see what we can do to change that - Any objective analysis is welcome.

When I see "this team sucks" and "fire everybody", then I know we have posters whose only goal in any analysis (if you can call it that) is to support their opinions about the team being bad, as opposed to improving the team - no matter how much they try to "soft soap" it.

We all have our own ways of being fans. As long as we're cool to one another, then I don't think there's really a wrong way to handle it. I'm not personally going to be blindly positive or supportive when they're as bad as they've been at the basics for such a long time.
