You are being overly rosy in your assessment. Being a starter on a bad team doesn't mean it's a good pick. For pretty much all the picks you labeled as hits there were other better players available who have gone on to have better careers. Most of the success we have had the last few games is due to great coaching adjustments by Flores and the coaching staff. Flores is once again making something out of nothing like he did last year to save the season.

You guys seem to have very short memories just a few wins and all of Grier's mishaps are suddenly forgotten.

What players do you disagree on? Bad team, there’s still 5 weeks left and we could end up with a winning record.

It’s got nothing to do with short memories, Phillips and Holland have elevated their play. Waddle just had one of the best games of any rookie WR in Dolphins history. Really hard to evaluate players their rookie season but we’re seeing some flashes.

As much as I wanted Herbert over Tua and didn’t want to trade up for Waddle, playing revisionist history doesn’t help or change anything. Now all I can do is evaluate job he’s done and the product we’ve seen on the field. I’m still not sold on him but this draft looks to be a massive success so you have to factor that in.

My biggest gripe outside of the previous 2 draft decisions is management of salary cap. We’re going to have $80mm this off-season so if he plays it right, fixes LT and gets another WR and has a good draft. This team should be set up to compete next year.

I’m always willing to eat crow. I’ve been as critical of Grier as anyone. Still don’t love some of the vets we cut from last season but this years draft was unbelievable. I hope Liam can improve when he moves to RT but our first 3 picks all have a chance to be the best players at their positions. As much as I hated the Jackson pick last year and Noah has been a complete bust, Tua, Hunt and Davis have all been good picks. Tough to argue 6/9 in the first 2 rounds and a possible 7/9 IF Liam makes some strides.

Somebody posted something similar to this on Reddit about another player (Corderrelle Patterson), so I had to take the concept and run with it. I was going to do it for Tua, but he's already getting a fair level of praise, so I did it for Jaelen Phillips instead.

I still doubt Grier can build a decent OL, and that failure means his good moves will be crippled. In any event, unless they lose every game to close out the season, Ross is giving everyone another year to get it right.
