We don't have much of a running game anyway. We are tied with Houston for worst in the NFL at 3.3 Y/C so this isn't a big loss. We desperately need a good RB. It would be nice if we could pull a Belichick and get that RB in the mid/late rounds, but I'm fine spending a higher pick on one. Too many 2nd or 3rd and 1's we can't make. It's seriously holding this offense back.
Wow. Hopefully, the whole room wasn't infected. This makes the Lindsay signing look even better. Looks like having a late-season bye is a good thing this year.
Thank go’s this happened during a bye week. It’s going to be so weird to finally have a healthy team next week.
Hopefully having the bye this late in the season won’t affect our current momentum, but it would be nice to see a fresh, healthy offensive line the remaining 4 games of the season….rest up the D and be able to potentially plow our way into the playoffs. Not exactly what the NFL rules are governing Covid quarantine but myself personally, I would think if you had 3 consecutive negative tests 24 hours apart, I would say you’re Covid free and should be eligible to play. I just have a feeling the league is going to screw us out of 2 of our running backs.
We'll see. In the NBA, the Sixers were humming along at 9-2 until Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris both were infected. Embiid, in particular, was reportedly very Ill and missed more than two weeks and by the time he returned, they had a .500 record. More than hoping for a speedy return, i'm praying that both of these young men are well. But we need them to be the best versions of themselves if we are to make that push.
Just a reminder- testing negative is just the 1st step; a lot of people stay tired/weak for weeks after being positive. So I'm hoping this is not a big deal but it definitely could be. With that said, Lamar Miller went on to have a great career with other teams. He's old and has some mileage, but could be an actual upgrade over Gaskin. We'll see.
Still no guarantee for Doaks. Duke Johnson is kicking around and now Old man Miller is in town. I’d like to see Doaks myself. edit; I think Malcolm Brown is also Eligible to return this week. No clue if he is healthy enough though.
Is Doaks on the practice squad? Do the practice squad RB's practice with the regular RB's during the week? I'm worried that if the other three have it, Doaks will too. I wouldn't mind seeing him play though since he's more of a bruiser/downhill runner.
LMAO, that would be epic! Unfortunately though, he's the only one on the entire roster that knows how to block someone...so I'm not sure who he'd run behind. But I would be 100% all-in and rooting like mad!
Wow. Jests are going to blitz us on every down. I don't care how it might happen, but if we somehow win this week, any criticism of #1 needs to be written down on sandpaper, dipped into hot sauce, wrapped around a stick cut from a thorn bush, lit on fire and shoved up the complainer's ***.
It's running back. If you block for the guy he is going to get yards. Look at the Lions this weekend all of their running backs are injured/covid and they had some guy Craig Reynolds run 11 times for 83 yards. This is why I never make a big deal about drafting running backs high.
I hope they do, because that's going to make that 3 yard pass to Waddle go a lot further than 3 yards. It's a gamble blitzing anyone, but when you have a true pocket QB setting accuracy records and with one of the fastest releases in the game...well, it doesn't always work out in your favor.
lol we still have 2 more days to lose more players to COVID. Doesn't matter. We're still beating the Jets. Need these guys (especially Waddle) back for NO though.
Damn there has been a huge outbreak lately in the NFL. It makes me wonder how many people have it and don't know it because they are not regularly tested.
It's fine. The omnicrom is just a flu. It's going to burn out Delta and this is all going to be over by the summer. Only 1 person worldwide has died so just like the Spanish flu, it's going to implode on itself. Don't believe the hype. They are just scaring people to keep their power in tact.
If enough people got vaccinated we really wouldn't have to take all these precautionary measures. I also like how you say "like the Spanish flu", you know.. the one that killed 20-50 million people before it "imploded". Anyway, it's not fine because we're losing key players that could help us win.
But they are all vax'd and still got it - a mild flu or even no symptoms. Reality is that not everyone is going to do it. You have a 30% chance of catching it even if you are vax'd. BTW-I'm triple vax'd and am not against them AT ALL. But at some point we just have to live with it. I love the Colo Governor, he said everyone has had a chance to get the shots and the information is out there, let the chips fall where they fall if you decide not get get the shots. Decisions have consequences. Everyone is eventually going to get it. Don't live your life in fear.
As long as Gesicki and Parker are okay, we have enough at WR to beat the Jets, assuming Tua stays healthy, but we'll need Waddle and everyone else for the last three games. Seems like positive tests are going to hit the NFL hard as we close out the season and head into the playoffs.
The NFL needs to look at changing the PS rules and just let everyone dress the rest of the year. No healthy scratches.
