Hopefully Preston gets his shot and runs with it. He looked comfortable with Tua, hopefully that continues when Tua returns in London
I completely agree. I'd rather call up Brian Hartline out of retirement, knowing he'll put in a hard day's work without question. No more divas for this team- we need football players who want to work.
For five years? Nope, I can't say that's ever happened to me...or anyone else on Earth for that matter except DeVante Parker.
Parker is a weapon and if we can keep him for about 5 million a year i don't know how anyone has a problem with it. Yeah he's often injured but if he plays at a #1 receiver level for 1/2 a year for a 1/4 of the money why not? Now Wilson ,Fuller and Williams see yah!
Look, these players are PROFESSIONAL football players. They are paid MILLIONS of dollars to…wait for it…PLAY the game. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand players get injured. This is a violent contact sport but when you spend more time out for a season than you are on the field playing, I’m not getting the return for my investment. If you’re hurt, you’re hurt. If you can’t play, then you can’t play. I get it but on the other side of that coin, if you can’t give me what I’m paying you for, then I have to let you go and get someone that’s going to be able to do what I’m paying them for. Fuller and Parker have been getting paid not to play. Too many times. It’s time to get some receivers in that CAN play
I think the difference of the 2 is one wants to play and the other doesn't.Remember after his 1 game suspension he took week 2 off for personal reasons and now he is going to miss 10 weeks for a finger?Parker is made of glass and so is this guy but I also think fuller doesn't want to play.He should made to return most of that 10 million.
Can't agree. He's shown the occasional flash of being a low end #1, but that's about it. I have no interest in bringing him back at any price. Find someone reliable and consistent.
I mean, a season is 21+ games counting pre-season and the playoffs. If any player can't dress for 15+ of those games, I don't want him in Miami. That's been Parker's story for five long seasons now....he has a good game or two, then he's out for six weeks. You can't build a team around that. For Fuller, players can play through a broken finger- you just tape it to the finger next to it. That might change how he catches the football slightly but darn, you're a professional making big money to play. I'd cut that dude in a heartbeat this offseason.
He only signed for 1 year anyways. Given his long injury history, I’m sure any team with interest in him going forward would only sign him to a really low base salary with performance incentives.
I mean, Fuller being gone isn't really debatable at this point. We signed him to a one year deal (iirc it was a team option for year 2). I hated the signing when it happened and it looks even worse now. We already knew that Parker and Williams were injury prone and Waddle was coming off one himself. Why we decided to sign ANOTHER injury prone wide receiver who was suspended for PEDs as well ... just a baffling decision. We have done an abysmal job of surrounding our QB with talent.
Grier has an unhealthy obsession with really fast receivers. I'm still kinda surprised he traded Grant away.
