 Short of the first down. That's the game folks. Anyone want to cry more about nonsense today? So the game was closer than it should have been because of two picks. Who cares; a win is a win and the QB you're crying about is the one who brought us back. Yes, a solid running game helps but it's about time we had a running game for once.

Tua has a ways to go still, but he's doing exactly what he needs to at this point. I'm still not sold on his long term future, but you get games like this with a young QB.

6 wins is 6 wins. Was stupid tough against a really bad jets team. Tua has to be better if we are to beat any good teams coming up.

Titans couldn't pull it off. Pitt gets the W
    Bills get the W

Only help will be from the games where one of the playoff contenders has to lose

That is just crazy. Steelers and Titans was another surprise, an unwelcome one as I was sure Pittsburgh would be behind Miami after today.

He didn’t play as well as he had but he also made some good throws. You don’t score 31 and he sucks.

Ha. 7-7. Great job Dolphins. Next up: 8-7. Titans also not playing well without Henry and there's no reason 9-7 isn't possible.

Other than the win the best thing today was maybe finding a decent RB. We'll have to see if Johnson can play well against a better defense but that would really change the draft strategy. We don't need a great RB but Gaskin sucks. Maybe Johnson is the answer.

Also, great job D after starting slow. Tua had an off day. He got a bit lucky but he still had some key (good) passes. Tua's rating is now a bit lower at 94.3 but still above average (91.2). Burrow (100.6) and Herbert (99.1) are solidly ahead right now, but years from now we may look back at say the 2020 QB draft was one of the best ever.

If you take everything TV announcers say as gospel then that explains alot. They wouldn't have won if he didn't throw TD passes as well, but... ok. Like I said, I'm not sold on his long term future yet, he had a rough game especially the start but he overcame it and helped win us the game. Who cares if it was closer than it should have been, who cares why Gumbel and Archuletta have to say. Seriously... get a grip we're still on a winning streak and still in it.

Would it make you feel better if Tagovailoa threw for 448 yards 3 touchdowns, no interceptions, put 45 points on the board and we LOST the game?

Because I watched a game Miami had against the Jets and that’s exactly what happened!!!

Get off the whole quarterback mentality and put the focus on the TEAM!! There’s going to be games that the quarterback wins the game. There’s going to be games in which the running back wins the game. There’s going to be games in which the defense wins the game.

If all you care about is quarterback and stats and ratings et al, pick up a Madden video game. Football is a TEAM sport in which the TEAM wins or loses the game

Fair enough, we need balance. It does nothing to ease my concerns about Tua's ability to read defenses and get through his progressions.

    Wtf are you talking about?
Nothing to do with stats! He easily could have had 5 picks today. He did not play well.!
If you can't see it your a blind Homer!
If Marino played bad I would call it out.No player is above criticism not even Tua.we won despite him.

The problem is all you ever do is point out anything bad. That’s it. You can’t even enjoy winning the game because you’re so obsessed with Tua. It’s supposed to be fun being a fan. Especially when they are winning. Too bad it appears you’ve forgotten that. Cheers.

Yeah we lost 7 straight too. A good coaching staff doesn’t lose 7 straight. We shoot ourselves in the foot every week with dumb coaching decisions.

Keep in mind we had dumped key veterans during the off-season, so it took quite a while for this team to meld without that leadership on the field. That I place squarely on Grier for hamstringing the team the first half of the season.

And other games he could have had several TD’s that were dropped. Coulda, woulda, shoulda - but didn’t.
He threw as many TDs as picks today. Do those counts. Stop trolling. We all are not being homers. We get it but but Me I’m going to have a great week because we won. You are going to be like “I hate life cause Tua coulda thrown 5 picks”. Geezzzzz

Fixed that for you. We could start with five new guys and not be worse off than this year. We don't have ONE guy on the OL that you can point to and think, "We can build around that guy."

We have been in need of a quality O Line coach. Without it I don’t think they have had great input in drafting because of it. Or putting solid schemes that work together. We do have a bunch of really young guys. And Oline seems like they need to be stable to act as a cohesive unit. We haven’t had stability in players or coaches. My fear is you bring in ANOTHER new coach with new schemes and we’re set up for another slow start.

Yeah, really. In the last 7 games, he's had 5 great games, 1 good game and 1 bad one (that he ultimately redeemed himself in). Anyone taking that as an unfair criticism isn't being objective.

Personally, I LIKED that the Jets came out strong, that Tua made a critical error and that we were playing in a deep hole. I mean, that was the 10-point spread and we handed it to them in the first few minutes to make it a "fair" game. This young team desperately needs that type of experience to see that we can come back from big mistakes...and there's no team I'd rather get that experience against than the Jets.

Tua had a really tough day...and that's okay. He'll be better tomorrow because of it.

Not necessarily true. I’m not saying we have 5 bonafide offensive starters. We definitely need help on the line but I’m truly of the opinion, and Ive said it before, we need a guru of an offensive line coach…a coach who has a history of fielding a juggernaut of a line everywhere he’s been.

Get THAT and the rest will fall into place

Divisional games are always tough. I don’t care the records. It’s about turf. Rivalries. I’ve seen so many teams rise up and beat a “superior” team. When they do it and ruin their playoff hopes, that’s the best. We’ve been that team to many times.

You're apparently forgetting we also didn't have our offense on the field today in Jaylen Waddle. Our offense runs through him; or do you conveniently forget that? He routinely has 8-10 catches a game.

I'm not disagreeing with you that he needs to play better against better teams or we're toast. I'm just saying at the end of the day yes he had a rough start, the late pick 6 was horrific IMO, but all things considered he made some outstanding throws and runs today on his own that you can't discount. If you chose to, then your bias clearly shows. So to sit here and say he's sucked today, it's an over reaction IMO. He had plenty of great plays today that allowed us to win this game, lets not forget the game winning drive he took us on to throw the TD pass after throwing the horrific pick 6. I mean; there's plenty there to look at today that shows progress yet again. Of course it was a rough start off the bye week, and then there's the pick 6.. again... horrific. However he made the plays in the clutch that he needed to in order to get us our SIXTH straight W, or did you forget that? Or did you just want to make your original post after the pick 6 and now you've got a bit of egg on your face here after he threw the TD pass? Timing of it all is pretty peculiar to be honest.

Either way, I'm with you there's plenty to criticize him on; he didn't play his best, but lets not act like he was awful either. There was plenty of good mixed in there. You are right though, he's going to need to be better against better teams. Nobody will dispute that. Don't act like there was nothing positive from him today either though. I'm not his biggest fan here; I'm not going to defend him at all costs; theres plenty of posts in my history to document my own criticism of his play; including today so lets not act like im some Tua homer here either. I just felt you were over reacting. Nothing personal though; I just felt you weren't giving enough credit to the good and just wanted to stoke the flames after the pick 6. It's all good man, ultimately I think we're on the same page, just... presenting it much differently. :hi5:

See; that's what I'm talking about. You can't say he flat out sucked today, because that's disregarding all the good. Yes the running game had a big impact today, but he made plenty positive plays, great throws, used his legs and led a game winning drive after throwing the pick 6 all without our biggest and best piece on offense. He didn';t play well at the start, and made a horrific error on the pick 6, but all in all after the start he played well when he needed to.

It wasnt on par with the last few weeks, but you're always going to have those games as a QB develops and grows.
