Time to fire Grier and give Flores 1 more season.

No Flores can go now. He’s got a worse record than Gase.

Grier needs to be fired. He had some time now to draft/acquire a competent offensive line and hasn't done it.

Kind of sicking watching the Bengals win the AFC north when our rebuild was same timing and we had all those draft picks.

Burrow is elite. It's one of those exhibit #1 when someone says it's not a good idea to "tank".

Well if u look back at my old threads that's who I was dreaming of getting until we went on that pointless run and we ended up with Tua who I definitely did not want.
I personally think after Tuas last 3 games Watson will be our QB in 2022.

We didn't even Tank correctly... I mean, if you want to lose, you start a third stringer at QB like Indy did with Curtis Painter.

Honestly, I think we're more talented than Cinci overall. They have a franchise QB and we don't, unfortunately.

I don't think Flo or Grier get fired. They're going to use their final year to trade away our immediate future for Watson or another QB if he's unavailable.

On the bright side, Antonio Brown just became a free agent... :glare:

If Ross had any clue about football, we wouldn't be in this situation. The guy can't hire a competent GM and I don't know it's going to get any better as long as he's the owner.

We are not more talented. Waddle is the only one that would break their starting WR trio. Mixon is better than anything on our roster. Their OL is leaps and bounds better. I can't speak as much defensively, but they have a much better offensive talent base and better offensive coaching. We are bottom of the barrel with Godsey and our OL staff.

It's just really depressing how little talent we have on our offense. I don't even think we could attract free agents as big of a mess as our coaching staff is.

Let the watson circus begin again. No clue what their plans are but id fire flores and grier. It wont happen i think both will be back. We need 2-3 new o line. We need a real rb. We need 1 high draft pick wr. We’ll see what they do with gesecki. If they trade for watson we wont have much cap space.

On defense im assuming they move off x or jones i doubt both are back next year. We also need to draft a lb imo.

Grier should be removed from his position but that won’t happen. Flores gets one more year and Ross will say consistency matters and let them both have next year. If we are not a vastly improved team next year both go at the same time. That’s how Ross handles things as do most owners.

What’s scary is that if they let Grier stay and he has access to all the free agency funds he will blow it with the wrong players.

Parker should go if we can get any value from him. We need another number one waddle is great but we need a big tall stud receiver

time to buy key positions that have ruined us for years the clocks ticking and Grier and Flo are on the hot seat IMHO

=30.7 Million in cap designated to veteran wide receivers.

They only played 23 games combined and had 720 recieving yards combined. Woof !!

Can’t wait for them to hire someone to properly allocate all the wasted cap space.

I don't really mind the Fuller thing. The risk was obvious and of course it went as bad as possible but at least it doesn't hurt them going forward.

The offensive line on the other hand...

OK, I'm going to go ahead and say it. First of all, I'll support the team no matter what they decide to do. If they want to keep rolling with Tua, then by all means, lets lace em up next year and lets get it. This game though today, this loss...Has me feeling exactly the same way I felt after the Buffalo beatdown last year. We're in total control of our playoff lives and our Quarterback forgets to show up. THAT CANT HAPPEN. It simply can't happen. I have been a staunch Tua supporter from the get go, but I'm going to say this openly and I'm not going to take back saying this. Lets go get Deshaun Watson. We'll never win a damn thing until we have a franchise Quarterback on this roster. Lets upgrade the offensive line and lets go get Deshaun Watson. I doubt that it is going to happen, but at this current moment and from here on out, I'm fine if that's what we end up doing. Love Tua, if we keep him, fine, I'll still root for this team, I'll still root for him to succeed, he's a great dude, high character, passionate player. He CAN get better, but we can't keep tanking games when they matter the most. GO GET DESHAUN WATSON. I know it will cost us a war chest of picks, I get that, but this roster can survive, Flores can get the most out of our defense and Watson can make superstars out of third string wide receivers. That's my offseason wish at this point. Dan Marino is 60 years old! It's been 23 years! Enough.

I am not sure why u say u doubt it happens as Watson has A no trade clause and Miami is where he wants to go But yea I am sick of these average to below average QBs I will give up whatever to get him because the current plan is not working.

While I’m in complete agreement that Grier needs to go, I’ve heard of no suggestions from anyone on his replacement. I’m reading posts about this player and that player needs to go but if you’re wanting Grier gone, who do you want as his replacement?

Ive mentioned it before. IF this were to happen…IF Ross were to fire Grier, I want Ross to go after one of two GMs to replace him.

    Brett Veach; Kansas City Chiefs
It’s difficult to argue Veach’s ability to put together a team of solid talent. Since assuming the GM position in 2017, he’s built a solid roster that’s been in the Super Bowl twice and vying for a deep playoff run again this season.

    Jon Robinson; Tennessee Titans
Since assuming the GM position in 2016, Robinson has put together a solid roster and coaching staff that’s resulted in the Titans appearing in the playoffs 4 of 6 years, 3 years in a row counting this season. His ability to assemble a complete roster compliments the team’s ability to continue winning despite the loss of starting players.

Yea, we can indeed agree Grier’s got to go but the question that has to be addressed is then what.

Those two are my first and virtually only picks to succeed him

The reason I doubt it happens is because I do think Tua has shown enough to cause the front office to hesitate on making such a drastic move. The team won 7 in a row, was in the drivers seat of a playoff birth and then this happens. In other words, we weren't disastrous enough for the team to say "screw it, we're getting Watson." I think how Tua plays in the finale against the Pats is more important than a lot of us are anticipating. No matter what, even if he goes out and throws a perfect game, I personally am going to be asking where this was in week 17 against the Titans. He can't fold at the most crucial times and so far THAT is what he has done. We should have beaten Atlanta earlier in the season, we should have beaten Jacksonville, and we should have beaten the Raiders. Those things didn't happen, but that hardly matters. I think the only thing that mattered was today and Tua didn't get it done. Like I said, whatever this team decides to do, I'll support. If Tua is our QB next year, I'll support him. What I'm not going to do is jump to conclusions or get into fights about him on here anymore. We need a franchise quarterback before we can ever move forward. Until that happens, we're going to be stuck exactly right where we currently are. We had a great opportunity in the 2020 draft to select a franchise quarterback. We rolled the dice with Tua, those are the consequences that we will have to live with. I will always support this team no matter what, but it's starting to look like we may have possibly made a bad choice.

I think Ross wants Watson for some reason, though I don't. The guy may not be a criminal, but he's a weird and creepy type of person and I don't want him as the face of this team.

I think Flo is a defensive genius. His job is 100% safe.

As for Grier, I think he is gonna wind up saving his job too. I think that he will meet with Ross, who is overly loyal to begin with, and rest heavily on the fact that this might very well be the best draft class in the history of the team - Waddle, Phillips, and Holland. I think Eichenberg is out of position and could be really good too.

I think there is a non-nuclear option here that I think Ross could do to right the ship. I think he needs to have a blunt heart-to-heart conversation with Grier. Flat out, he needs to tell him that he is not good at evaluating offensive linemen. I would tell him that I am going to hire him a consultant, and he HAS to listen to him. I would pay up and try and get some successful, former talent evaluator and see if I could lure them back for a part time gig. Think someone like Bill Parcells (it doesn't necessarily have to be him, but he is the first name that comes to mind). I am supremely confident that he could identify talented linemen. I don't think that it is that difficult to find someone capable of evaluating this particular position.

His offenses have been bad. Crippling the team bad. You can't excel in one area and fail in another and be a good-great head coach.

That said, it would be shocking if Ross made big changes for 2022. He prefers to give people an extra year, then fire them when things fail as anticipated (by the fans and outside observers). I guess Ross is shocked when things don't work out after giving people who have failed more time to fail again.
