No. His play on the field did that.

There's two sides to that though. If Flores had already decided that he was making an exit, then he had no reason to placate to Ross's ego any longer. It is very possible that the "disrespect" was telling him the plain, honest truth...Grier is a snake and Ross is too stupid to see it.

Tua is not Marino and I bet in marinos second year, no matter how good he was, he didnt.

    You're comparing situations ?
I'm going out on a limb and saying Marino's play on the field compared to Tua is light years apart.
Tua has done nothing to be in a position to question his HC about any of the decisions being made.

I can turn around and say that Shula's coaching is lightyears ahead of Flores's, and the latter has done nothing to be in position not to be questioned about the decisions he make.

Sure you can. You can say anything you want .

I'm still sticking with the fact Tua has no credible right to back talk and question his HC.

Flores doesn't have the right to expect to not get talked back to.

HC or QB. I'm giving the HC a little more authority on this one. The HC has every right to express himself freely to get the most out of his players ESPECIALLY his QB because it all starts with him.

Players should never question their coaches, at least not openly. I doubt Marino ever talked back disrespectfully toward Shula, and certainly not in front of other players.

I bet he didn't. Shula was known for being hard on his players and having a low tolerance level for players that did not act as expected.

Can I get a link to the PED piece? I doubt it's true, I'm just curious. I imagine coaches don't give a **** about that. While they don't likely encourage it, it's very much a 'see no evil, hear no evil' kind of deal. Just don't get caught. Not even QB's are clean (Manning, Brady, etc...).

never know this is a new generation of players where everyone wins, and you can't be mean. If you hurt peoples feelings your a bad person and should be fired. We used to call them thin skinned people. Were running our youth if this is what cause Flores to be fired.

I was being sarcastic, BTW. There's a lot of disinformation swirling around right now. There are so many competing narratives, I don't have a clue what's going on. Keep in mind how many times we were told to expect a trade to be consummated. Who was feeding that BS into the news cycle? It made no sense for it to come out of Miami; what's to be gained from the leak? It could have been leaked by the Texans, Watson's agents, or even - gasp! - Flo.

Then, we were told that Ross was pushing hard for it. Now, it seems that Flo is the one who wanted Watson against the wishes of Grier. Personally, I think Flo pushed Ross hard to override Grier and once Ross' name was mentioned (and his ethics questioned), he was going to back Grier over Flo. If we'd obtained Watson at the deadline, I think Grier would be the one fired - regardless of whether we made the playoffs. We'll probably never know everything that went down in this situation and I'll take everything I read or hear with a grain of salt.

Remember: Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

Makes me wonder where all of this behind the scenes information is coming from all of a sudden. Did Dave Hyde and Omar know all of this before yesterday? Or is somebody putting it out to make Flo look like a problem child so Ross can be seen as sympathetic instead of part of the dysfunction? Flo's going to have a hard time being hired if these accounts continue. Unless he and Watson are a package deal (as has been speculated).

I guarantee you that coaches don't give participation trophies in the NFL. Either you do your job at the highest possible level, or you can see your way to the door. Those expectations are crystal clear from day one.

I think Watson just wanted to come to Miami for the weather and women. I don't see why he would be attracted to Flores who can't put a competent offense together to save his life.

It could be. But, there are a couple of things to consider.

    1. During Flores's tenure, the organization has been tightlipped about things happening.

    2. Flores is more liked than Stephen Ross and Chris Grier at this moment, so it's easier to brush this off as this just being a hit piece.

But, the thing is, more often than not, we never quite know what a coach is like behind closed doors until other players speak out and say something. Again, I don't know if this is true, and I don't think this is true. But when you got moments such as how he handled the Kenny Stills situation and when Grugier-Hill - someone who was a Flores guy prior to signing with the Texans this year - apparently telling Tua that it's the coaching, not him, I can't quite say 100 percent sure that this is false.

Have you been drafted in the first round and paid millions of dollars to be the face of an NFL team?
I HAVE played organized football. I've coached it, too. There's a huge difference between high school or college and the NFL.

There was video that backs the players telling Tua it's the coaches, it was a defensive player who came up to him during the game and said it, I wish I could find that video and remember who the player was.

Tua is trying to earn his stripes. Flo is trying to win. I dont fault either of them. I DO fault Ross and Grier for allowing this to go sideways and not handling it like adults and bosses do.

So do we still need further proof that Flores wasn't happy with Tua on his team and Grier and Ross are going to any lengths possible to protect poor Tua at all costs?

I saw a piece from Barry Jackson today though that painted the picture of Flores being on board with Tua, the organization running perfectly with the exception of Flores in the building. He was the only problem.

Pretty obvious to me which pieces are coming from the organization and which ones are coming from real sources. The organization is all in right now on protecting themselves and their image since the majority of the league is looking at us like we're stupid right now. Ross and Grier are flat out running this team into the ground.

Either way, whatever really did or didn't happen doesn't matter. Damage has been done and nothing will improve likely until Ross is in the ground.

Dan Marino used profanity the artists used colors. Marino yelled at players, I'm sure he got into it with Shula a few times. This is just sad man. What a candy *** society we live in these days. I don't know what to believe at this point, but since "feelings" and "How we talk to people and how they talk to us" has been a hit topic these last few years, I'm not surprised this was put out there. Media knows how to stir stuff. FWIW, I bet Flores did chew Tua a new *** after that half against the Titans. I don't blame him.

In any organization with a PR department, your job is to control the narrative to put you in the best light. Now, Flores probably did cuss out Tua in the locker room...maybe he even had him tested for PEDs...but with no context you have no idea what these stories mean. The Miami Dolphins can't leak stories like this directly, but if they give small nuggets to reputable journalists then this is the kind of media you get. Who actually leaked it, that doesn't matter, because it was a narrative that was created to go along with this firing.

What does it mean? Absolutely nothing. Anyone thinking about hiring Flores knows how that stuff works. But the problem here is incoming coaches....they know how that stuff works too. And if Miami is spinning a narrative to cast Flores in a bad light all of a sudden, then most candidates would be extremely wary of putting themselves in that position.

And here's another part to consider- let's say Flores was bullying Tua more than other players, going out of his way to sabotage his career and forcing him to take drug tests. What kind of organization sits back and lets it happen? Hint- a really, really bad one. So Miami can never confirm any of this because it ultimately makes Ross look like an idiot for doing nothing for 1.5 seasons with Flores at the helm.

Because that's the thing- Ross and Grier are in charge. All this happened on their watch and now it's being leaked as common information inside the organization. Again, coaches and other candidates take notice...they have agents just like players do. And this kind of stuff circulates like wildfire around the league. There's only 32 owners and this is a very small circle, with everyone knowing what's happening in and out of other clubs. So while this stuff could be true or a complete fabrication, it's hurting the front office and the team a lot more than people realize.

I said all of that to say this- if these things started in the Miami PR department, they're complete idiots. And if it didn't, then there's probably not an ounce of truth to the way the narrative is being spun. That doesn't mean there can't be some truth in there though...it's likely just a tiny part of the actual truth and what transpired.

I can confirm that both Marino and Shula cussed like sailors when they got mad. Heck, Marino cussed me out a few times when he wasn't mad (we used to get autographs from him after his radio show back in the late 80's/early 90's). I also had a neighbor that was on the 70's Fins team and went to a few of his parties in the early/mid 80's...lots of "f-bombs" there too.

Additionally, my brother is friends to a current NFL starter. Friends isn't the right word...whenever he's in town, my brother sells him gummy bears of the happy variety. Anyway, he seems like a good guy and doesn't go out of his way to cuss, but I've heard some colorful language from him often enough as well. So I feel pretty confident in saying that the language in locker rooms hasn't changed over the past 20+ years.

The account that Omar related actually says that Tua cussed Flo out after the game. Everybody's thinking that Flo cussed out Tua and hurt his feelings but that's not what's been described. If the account is correct, Tua crawled into Flo after the game and Flo was mad that somebody made Tua aware he was being sabotaged. If that's anywhere close to the truth, Flo wasn't fired for cussing out his QB, he was fired because he created an unsustainably adverse relationship with his player(s).

That was the most inexplicable thing. A lot of folks say that it was a coincidence that the team's turnaround happened a week following the trade deadline but IMO, they had different energy than before. I don't know what happened but a switch was flipped after that nonsense was allowed to expire.

It was too easy to simply say "We're not going to comment on potential personnel moves, but in general, if we think we can improve the team, we'll do it and that applies to every position. Any rumors you hear about trading for any player are speculation and until we make a move, all reports should be considered to be speculative and premature". Print it up on a poster and put it on an easel in the press room. When reporters ask about it, point to the poster and move on to the next question. Can't believe we ran the team like amateur hour for half the season.

I didn't appreciate terminating Flo, but IMO, he's been such a dick, I feel sorrier for the organization and fans than I do for him.
