He signed off on the entire roster. Trying to argue he is spineless isn't really a great defense of him and its also one nobody would believe.

Come on we need to put our biases aside a bit. You call Grier a snake but you are totally fine with Flores trying to get rid of Grier which seems like awfully snake like to me.

Flores wanting final say over personel is him realizing Grier is a **** evaluator and personnel guy. Again, he would not ask for that if he was actually getting the guys he wanted.

Regarding Flores bing the snake? No, it's just him realizing he cannot be successful with Grier calling the shots.

My only bias is towards people who have done something and have actual football knowledge. Grier is just a grifter who has not done jack **** in the 20+ years he has been here. Flores is the one who got us back to back winning seasons for the first time in almost 20 years, and did it with a **** team.

This is just a disingenuous statement. What is a winning season that doesn’t even get your team in the playoffs. Back to back seasons we got absolutely obliterated in a play in game. We weren’t competitive in either game. We got absolutely spanked by the bills backups last year and this year we had no game plan for the weather. It’s all good though guys we are over .500 again even though the only playoff team we beat this season was mac jones led new england. The only playoff team we beat last season was the rams. Flores literally has 20% win rate vs playoff teams. Trash

How does that make Grier a snake then? Is he supposed to volunteer to be fired?

Ross would not have fired Flores if Grier was not filling his ear with BS. Grier should have relinquished final say over personel and stuck to negotiating contracts and trades. Either that or resign. He has not done anything to warrant him keeping his power in the organization.

Then the complaint should all be on Ross. We should be mad about Grier for the roster failures but I am not mad that he didn't offer his head because Flores came for his job.

    Excuse me???

The Patriots are in the playoffs. We beat them twice.

The Ravens were on the cusp of the playoffs, we beat them.

We were soundly beaten by the Bills and the NUMBER ONE SEED in the AFC.

Can’t wait for Flores to get another head coaching gig with a decent organization and dominates. I’ll remind you of this post.

And on the other side of this coin, your post implies that the organization is just fine and dandy and Flores was the problem.

Remind me again how many winning seasons we’ve had with Chris Grier as GM?

Yeah, not a single head coach Miami has fired has ever gone on to do anything successful as a head coach in the nfl.

Also, who said the organization is stable. I would have also fired grier and I’ve said Ross is a clown shoes owner forever. None of these things are mutually exclusive.

Well if we are supposed to be blown away by 2 out of 3 years winning with Flores 3 out of 6 with Grier as GM becomes hard to paint as a disaster.

Grier has done the same kind of job Flores did. An ok one. Just ok. So they should have shared the same fate.

Hopefully Vrabel decides to suddenly retire, Flores goes to Ten with your idol Tannehill and you switch over to a Tians fan!

LOL, I'd actually like that quite a bit! But can't we put them on an NFC team? Carolina would be ideal...

Not to mention his misses in trading away players, free agency as well. Tannehill, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ajayi, Landry, Fuller. He sucks at retaining good players as well as bringing in good talent.

Minkah was traded because he didn't want to play for Flores. Ajayi because he and Gase didn't like each other. Landry is an average receiver.

Tannehill was a miss, but also may have needed that kick in the pants to light a fire. Don't forget, the Titans didn't even bother starting him when they picked him up. It's not like they were chuckling to themselves about fleecing us, they took a flier and it came up.

Biggest mystery in the NFL is how Grier still has a job.

The guy has done absolutely nothing to warrant his position.

Only difference is Flores was a first time HC and certainly made his fair share of mistakes. Grier has been director of personnel or GM for a long time and still keeps making them.

I’m not sure how people are expecting an unproven rookie HC to be flawless. I don’t know what to believe about roster decisions but he put together 2 pretty solid seasons(teams with similar records made the playoffs) without a franchise QB while fielding one of the worst OL’s I’ve seen. Not many good, veteran HC’s could have done that.

Colin is Colin, but the interesting piece is what his guest, Mike Silver, has to say regarding the power Flores had in Miami and Harbaugh’s potential return to the NFL.

Another thing that bugs me about the narrative here from all the talking heads.

Dolphins go 1-7, finally break the slump with a shaky W against the Texans and a shocking W against the Ravens on a Thursday. We all saw the potential of them going on a run after the Ravens game. (Panthers, Jets, Giants, Jets) They were gifted the Saints MNF game cuz of COVID.

The narrative around that winning streak at the time was: Looks at who they've played!!!!!! Easy Sked!

We all knew that if the Phins were even mediocre in September and October, this team would have been a lock for a playoff spot.

But now the revisionists want to give Flores all the credit for winning those cupcake games and none of the blame for a 1-7 start. Look at his QB!!!! No talent roster.

I was surprised as anyone that Flores was fired. But a start like that, when you had a team that should have made the playoffs last year has to have consequences.

Where is Mike Silver getting his take from? It does not hold up to scrutiny. There were multiple reports going back to 2020 that Flores preferred Herbert over Tua, and one of the reasons he was let go is because he wanted more power over drafting and personnel. Why would he even ask for more power over personel if he was already getting the players he wanted?

Where do you see him requesting more power over personnel? I don't think I've seen that stated anywhere.

Edit: Just like everything else, I think the powers that be, dolphins or flores camp just litter the landscape with conflicting information so no one knows what to believe :)

I'm pretty sure I once (very badly) photoshopped Ireland and Ross's face onto the same picture. History repeats!

Yes. Exactly and Flores is good at scouting players. He spends a lot of time on that and you can see how he found DBs that turned out pretty good.

For Gase, Ross said, "He decided not to stay since he wants to win now." That's all we got out of that one.
