The chopping has begun... Vikings clean house - HC Mike Zimmer and GM Rick Spielman fired. Bears HC Matt Nagy fired.
That’s the only explanation (and a real possibility if he coaches the whole year next season) - he is one of the worst coaches I’ve ever seen at this level.
The Giants GM job should be really appealing. They have the #5 and #7 picks in this year's draft, plus two picks in the 3rd round too. Five picks by #81 overall, and given that its a terrible year for QBs, I could see them trading down and sending picks into 2023 also. That would make the HC job very appealing a year from now.
Good for Flores. I hope all the best for him. Whichever team hires him may he lead them to the playoffs.
If you thought Miami was dysfunctional, the Giants are setting the standard. Not being as bad as the Giants is a really low bar though.
They are following similar patterns, though - a once proud franchise that has fallen into ruin due to poor drafting, dismal OL play, less than stellar qb production, and head-scratching hires at the HC position
The stars are aligning for Watson and Flo inn Texas I called it few days ago once Flo got fired. He gets his QB a good weather town for his family, and more control. He will be in playoffs before Miami
Can’t stand Ireland but Flores would be a great hire for Chicago. Assuming they don’t have an owner who likes candy canes, nice words and lollipops.
Hope he gets his NFL Network gig back. Wonder if this makes it more or less likely they keep their interim.
Honestly after having to release Arnette and Henry Ruggs, you have to fire Mayock. Those are two foundation pieces gone after one season.
I dont think Flores lands a head coaching gig though the list of candidates this year is so thin that some team like the Bears or Texans may think they have no other choice.
