I'm hoping for San Fran/Bengals at this point, which would be a replay of Super Bowl 23. I actually went to that one in Miami and watched Montana with the huge comeback drive. I don't have much interest in the Chiefs or Rams, but that could end up being the Super Bowl. They are probably the best two team remaining. I found myself rooting hard for the Bills tonight though, it sort of surprised me. KC is just too much though...Mahommes is lethal.
I went 1-3 but darn it, I was rooting for most of the winners! That KC/Bills game was probably the best football I've seen this season. Hoping the next round delivers more of that magic with Burrow/Mahommes.
I really don't think the chiefs were to much. The Bills screwed up on the kickoff with 13 seconds left. They kick the ball in play we are not even having this conversation.
Oh man, I didn't even know that happened. I walked out of the room to get a drink after the TD. WOW! I figured it was a good return.
I wanted the Pack to win just for the sake of the first rounder we get from the 9ers, but, oh well a couple spots won't matter that much when you are well to the back of the first round. I couldn't root for the Bills, but almost feel sorry for them losing when they had the game 99.99% won. Okay, I actually laughed when the Chefs won the coin toss, knowing the game was over for the Bills. The NFL does need to set up Playoff OT rules though. A ten minute period, played to the end, followed by another ten minute period if needed. At some point, a strip sack, fumble, INT, two-point try or missed FG will decide the game -but not a coin flip.
The only reason the 49ers are still alive is because of the voodoo that's on the dolphins. Since we own the 49ers 1st, the 49ers will be going to the superbowl. I'm not sure what we've done as a team but this dolphins curse is becoming unbearable.
Is there REALLY a lot of difference between pick 29 and 32? Like we couldn't trade up to 28 to grab a player we really like from 32? The damage is done at this point. I'd like to see the best RB picked though, as we get them for five years and you can then move on to another guy with fresh legs. Assuming you don't have the next Derrick Henry of course, in which case you give them one more contract.
There is a ton of value to be had picking at RB where we are now. The contract would have a cap value of between 2.5m-4.0m a season the first four years, and the 5th year tag would probably be no more than 5m or so too. If someone considers that too much to pay for a quality starter, they're just being greedy at this point. And then you see where it goes. We desperately need to fix the position with a real talent and stop shopping in the clearance section hoping to make something from nothing.
I think the pick has to be MLB, RB, WR or C. In the high 20's, you can usually get the best in the nation for most of those categories.
That really scares me- that's what we just did with Fuller. Everyone's talked about how good these QB's look in the playoffs and I completely agree, but the other part of that is how dynamic these receiving corps have looked. Buffalo, Cinci, etc. had their #1 options shut down this weekend and it was slot receivers torching the defenses and making huge catches. We need more of those types, the solid dependable #2-4 receivers who are ready to work. I will say this- we saw a lot of passes this weekend Tua simply wouldn't even consider trying to throw. But part of that is also having faith that the guy on the other end can make a play, make a move and turn the tide of the game. Past Waddle, we just don't have that.
A lot of the throws Mahomes made, Tua could have made, but for two things: we have no receivers who could turn those catches into huge gains and Tua is nowhere near as fast or athletic as Mahomes. Allen, forget it. Tua couldn't make those throws at all.
