Oh give him a break, will you?

That statement he made has nothing to do with his football intelligence.

Jon Gruden praises/praised QBs that were not worthy of being talked alot but he was a good coach .... if he wasnt too much of a homophobe and a racist he would've still been employeed.

    Hi guys,

I've finally managed to get back on here, after more than a year.

I was surprised and disappointed that Coach Flores was fired, especially with two consecutive winning seasons, and where we were after the first five weeks of his first campaign. I know we really should have made the playoffs, and the three defeats by a field goal or less were particularly galling, especially the one in London to the Jaguars, but I thought we were making progress under Flo.

Still, life goes on, but unfortunately, I don’t know enough about potential HCs to contribute any suggestions..

I enjoy reading what you have to say on the various Dolphins subjects, and I will contribute when and where I think appropriate.

    Thank you, Galant.

It was so frustrating not being able to post, and join in the conversations, especially during that great winning run, but I saw most of the games, apart from the last two, when ironically enough, I was in the US.

I guess with a new HC, the way that we play defense will change, as the new guy will want his own coaching personnel. If so I will be disappointed, as I love all the different fronts we show

I know we have a relatively young roster, and they will (hopefully) improve together, and I am excited for the next few years, if we can get the HC appointment right.

Just watched Big O show apperently Daboll is our „goal“ but Omar thinks he’s going to the Giants. Vance Joseph is another candidate they wanna talk to. Man that really gets me going, I don’t know if I can hold all that excitement back…

Daboll and Joseph are probably the two worst candidates we could hire. But you know, the dolphins are gonna dolphin. The **** show will continue...

Yeah the only hope I'll have is if we hire Harbaugh. VFJ doesn't exactly spike my enthusiasm. Might as well bring in Andy Dalton or Colt McCoy to play quarterback.

Hiring Vance Joseph would cement the Dolphins as the laughingstock of the league.

Harbaugh doesn't excite me either. While being more competent than both Gase, Philbin, and Flores he pretty much lost his job for the same reason. Being terrible to work with. IMO, that could look like a disaster in the making, especially if they don't have amazing drafts like the 49ers had at the time. One of the better offensive lines in my lifetime.

Myself I like Daboll and Quinn due to the fact that both could hire great staffs. And then Mike McDaniel because even if he fails it will be entertaining.

From the candidates we have interviewed, McDaniel is the only one that would excite me a little and that for the same reasons you mentioned. Oh and Quinn is supposedly going to the Broncos.

If the Dolphins Hire Vance Joseph who has a 2 year carreer coaching legacy with the following stats.

32 Games 11 total wins 21 total losses. 0 playoff appearances

Then Im going to call it as I see it and say this owner and GM do not care about winning. It's about just moving the goalposts and trying to fool the fans into another extension of rebuilding constantly. I would rather have a young innovative coordinator take over instead of Joseph who has proven he can't win with a talented team with good defensive talent which he had in Denver.

So No this would be a Typical Ross hire and I am not behind it at all.

To be extremely fair, the 9ers organization, at the time, was a joke. They hired two head coaches who started Blaine Gabbert over Kaepernick, after all.

Just sign Caldwell as HC then. No need for VFJ. Joseph is an absolute terrible coach in every way imaginable. Just the fact we are seriously considering him tells you how stupid Grier is.

Seems like the two leading candidates are my least favorite ones, Daboll and Joseph. Typical with the dolphins, I've gotten used to them doing exactly what I don't want them to do.

My top five list for the next HC would be Harbaugh, Pederson, Caldwell, Quinn, McDaniel, in that order.

I have heard that Daboll and McDaniel are the leading candidates, but who knows at this point. Harbaugh’s name keeps popping up every other day as well.

Have not heard one word to date about communication between the Dolphins and one of the most logical candidates, Doug Pederson.

Pederson isn't employed so teams don't have to announce their intentions with him.

At least believing Daboll played a roll in Josh Allens development isn't completely in the realm of crazy land stuff and at least since he hasn't already massively failed as a head coach it is possible he could be a pretty good one.

Nobody can possibly convince themselves to be excited about Vance Joseph as the head coach. The sexual allegations are just a cherry on top for a team that wanted Watson and may still. They would be raked over the coals.

If they aren't doing the Pederson route than I would like to see them go McDaniel or Thomas Brown and just hope they randomly struck gold.

    Who?

    EDIT - Per Wikipedia:

"Thomas Brown (born May 15, 1986) is an American football coach and former player. He is the running backs coach and assistant head coach for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). Brown previously served the offensive coordinator and running backs coach at the University of Miami. He played college football at Georgia. Thereafter, he played professionally in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons and the Cleveland Browns.... On February 12, 2020, Brown joined the Los Angeles Rams coaching staff as running backs coach. He was given the additional title of assistant head coach on February 23, 2021."

    Then per Dolphins Wire:

"Since then Miami Dolphins decided to move on from Brian Flores on Monday, they’ve been putting together a list of candidates that they would like to interview to fill the void.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins have added another name to that list on Friday, as they’ve requested to interview Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach and running backs coach Thomas Brown.

Brown has been with the Rams for just two seasons, assuming the assistant head coach role this year. Those are his only two years of NFL coaching, as he spent nine years in the collegiate game before making the jump.

Those in the Miami area might remember Brown as Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator and running backs coach from 2016-2018."

So, only a few years coaching experience. Just made assistant head coach... if it's this guy then Ross and Grier are really hoping they can pull of a miracle hire.

I've always said I'll always be a Dolphins fan, I just care less and less over the years. This year all I could think to myself was "At least they seem to have a good coach who deserves to be here on a long term basis." Then they fire him. If Vance f***ing Joseph is the replacement, then I just don't think I can pay any attention to this team anymore. I won't go be a fan of another team, but I'll stop paying attention to the Dolphins until Stephen Ross sells the team or drops dead.

NO THANKS nothing against they guy, but all these are going to be prospect - learn on the fly guys. We done that year after year and nothing magically happens. We need a tried and true coach who has been in the league understands the challenges has relationships and can bring in proven coordinators. Im done with the hot new guy trend which works 1-10 times.

I think the interest in the Rams tree is legit. The Shanahan (Mike) and McVay line is pretty strong. Matt LaFleur, Brandon Staley and Zac Taylor.

The New York Daily News's Pat Leonard reports Bills OC Brian Daboll "is the favorite to be the Miami Dolphins' next head coach."

He added that Cowboys DC Dan Quinn and former Dolphins HC Brian Flores would be leading contenders to be the Giants' next head coach if Daboll heads to Miami. Daboll is one of the hottest candidates on the market so he will likely get to choose between multiple gigs. Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen was just inked as the Giants' new GM so there is a connection between New York and Daboll, who is rumored to be the team's favorite option.
