I was literally just about to post.

My post was essentially going to boil down to, "Are we really gonna come here and say "trust the process" with Vance Joseph?"

I really do not know what to do at this point. I have never been more positive that he is not "the answer."

Well at least we’ll get a 3rd pick out of it. I’m not really optimistic about any decision that Ross/Grier make and expect this coach to get fired when Tua washes out in a few years.

Hoping it's just a smokescreen. Everybody they've interviewed would be better than him and his Wide 9 BS.

Its a completely useless tweet as the tweet before that was that Dolphins were being mysterious about their QB search. So essentially its a slow news please give me clicks.

    Also anybody but Vance Joseph

Yes, just read several tweets from from players and coaches expressing how horrible the call was. 0 cover deep with safety on NFL best receiver.

Gosh wonder why so many former coaches and players think it was totally stupid, but you might be right, it could be a brilliant call.

Did you see the debate on whether or not it was blown coverage by former players and coaches? If the CB played it right, it might have worked.

Some think it was the right call. Generally speaking the right call is the one that was executed and the wrong call was the one that was not.

The Bills just lost by making a call of playing prevent defense that allowed the Chiefs to get into field goal range in 13 seconds.

People hate aggression when it fails.
People hate playing it safe when it fails.

Would be the worst hire we could make, but Grier and Ross are just that stupid, so it's totally plausible this guy is right.

If we hire VFJ, I will seriously consider hibernation from football until further notice. Ross is dumb enough to hire him too. He'll use the logic of VFJ being here the last time we made the postseason. Grier will of course back Ross and there you'll have it. Think Coneheads.....My 90s kids will know that one. Ross being Detective Seedling and Grier being the *** kissing character that David Spade played. It won't surprise me in the least if VFJ ends up being the hire.

I would probably need to step away from Dolphin football and devote more time to other hobbies and such. The record on Vance Joseph is pretty ugly when you look at his time with Denver as head coach (11-21 record).

Sure, you can say that he learned valuable lessons from that time, and could maybe get some vet coaches to fill out his staff, but that's the most optimistic spin -and I just don't have the energy to do that anymore. Not while Ross is owner and Grier is GM.

Joseph feels like a major step back from Flo. I understand that our “brain trust” didn’t like meany words but firing someone with back to back winning seasons for a guy who was 11-21 would be extremely disappointing

I do not know if I agree. I actually believe that Miami would have had a similar record last year and probably would have made the playoffs this year if Vance Joseph was the coach instead of Flores. Especially if Vance wouldn't have gotten rid of most of the veteran leadership on the team.

You are confusing Vance Joseph and Todd Bowles I think.

Joseph's defense was the Cards who got carved up in the WC round.

    Both suck imo.

You can blitz without leaving the NFL's #1 receiver one on one with a safety. It was a horrendous call.

Mike McDaniel... just hire Mike McDaniel.

No team in the NFL has ****ed up the development of their prospective franchise QB like Miami. David Carr was treated better. Utter failure in every way.

    - Starting a QB before he's physically recovered (muscular atrophy, not medically)? Check.
    - Fail to build an offensive line (in every way, there's like 10 different sub points), after trading away the best one for future picks? Check.
    - Bringing in multiple offensive coordinators for 2 straight years, likely going to be 3 in 3? Check.
    - Copy/pasting Alabama's college playbook for NFL use? Check...
    - Multiple play callers during the season? Check...
    - Spending most of our cap money on defense, ignoring the offense, and cutting/trading everyone a year later? Check.
    - The list is endless. I don't even want Tua and even I can admit, Miami has ****ed him.

At least McDaniel gives us hope. He has a real system, for which he is the architect. Arguably the most important play designer in the league over the last 15 years, with an estimated 70% of the NFL using/stealing his ****... His offense, it's the best in the NFL, everyone ****ing wants it. Easy to see why considering San Fran is the only team in the NFL in the championship round without a franchise QB. They're really the only team consistently competitive with a serviceable QB (and no, Jimmy's backups haven't been serviceable). If you don't have a franchise QB, you have to become like San Fran. I don't care what risks McDaniel represents, he's our best hope.

But nah, Vance ****ing Joesph... I hate Ross.

I'm already at breaking point, one more dumb decision I don't think I'll be watching the NFL til Grier is gone or Ross sells the team or preferably drops dead. I've sat through some of the worst seasons, watched every game, including the abysmal 1-15. I just can't take it anymore. We should be competing with Fluffalo for the AFCE every year if this franchise wasn't so horribly mismanaged. Now it will be amazing if we even keep pace with NE.

I learned long time ago not to let the Dolphins affect my life in any important way while still remaining a loyal fan of the team. It makes no sense to let something you have no influence over affect your life like that unless it's absolutely necessary, and this isn't. So while I'm also totally against Joseph I'm still going to watch the games and root for the team regardless of who they choose.

I do agree though that it's frustrating knowing you have really bad management at the top that probably won't change for the better. Just got to get lucky for once. I guess that's also a strategy lol.

The dolphins are turning into the cowboys.. with an owner that needs a yes man.. why doesnt ross just say he can coach a team himself..

  32. Lol as everyone with a room temp IQ knows, none of this matters as long as the clown that owns the team remains alive. Anyone who thought Ross would get this selection right - after getting the last 3 wrong, not sure what to tell you. If he hires VJ, it is for the same reason that Grier still has a job. Flores was one flawed SOB, but he is light years ahead of VJ in terms of future NFL trajectory. It will be the final nail in the Dolphin's coffin. Vance Joseph and Tua...lol...welcome to under 15K attendances and another 3-4 years of football irrelevancy. Even Ross cannot be this stupid....but yes he can.

Amen. It was not possible to feel how I feel about the Fins. Growing up as a fan, I know no other loyalties in Pro Football. But like you say, I may not be able to leave the Fins, but I can put them in my rear view for awhile if they force it upon me by their constant, sometimes seemingly endless blunders.

I certainly hope for some positive news this off-season, because I feel like my loyalty (our loyalty as a fan base) has been taken for granted for too long. It is a difficult, and disheartening feeling. I don't care about 'losing' (so much) as I care about 'not trying.' That's what this franchise has seemingly devolved into thanks to horrendous management.

I'm over it at this point- was mad as a hornet two weeks ago, but I still think we fired Flores because Ross and Harbaugh have been talking. It's the only move that makes sense- Gase was tough to work with as well, and Ross wanted to keep him with Grier. So I really think this is all a ploy for Harbaugh...and I think that was the case three years ago when Flores was hired. It was always a temporary position until Harbaugh got tired of Michigan.

If it's not Harbaugh or someone we've been watching for awhile now, then I don't have a whole heck of a lot of faith in the next three seasons. Either way though, I'll watch the games, write my little weekly summary for the folks who don't get to watch, then I'll go on with my life.

The best WR in the league was not covered by a CB, he was covered by a safety. I don't know of anyone that thinks it was the right call other then Joseph.

I thought the calls by the Chiefs to let the Bills move down field were stupid too. They were getting great pressure on QB with 5 and then went to only 4 in crunch time.

Vance Joseph may or may not have thought it was the right call, but it was Todd Bowles that actually made the call. Bruce Arians claimed later that several more players were supposed to blitz (and didn’t), thereby not allowing Stafford the opportunity to throw deep.

Didn't Beavis(Ross) recently state that he has no interest in taking Harbaugh away from his Alma-matter? You suggesting it's smoke and mirrors? Well I certainly hope you are right. But it seems to me Grier is the one who makes all the decisions(And he's a proven moron.) Ross is just a figure-head at this point.

Ross said that at the "firing" press conference because it was one of the first questions asked and he won't betray Michigan by saying it out loud. It's no secret that he's always wanted Harbaugh in Miami though.

Then there's the GPS tracking that showed our exec team in San Fran last weekend where Harbaugh lives. That could have been completely fabricated, but some think it's already a done deal. Me- I have no idea. But the firing would make a heck of a lot more sense if they already had their next coach lined up....that's how you're supposed to fire executives.
