I hope Daboll chooses the Giants. I have no interest in Daboll coming here. He is way overrated as a result of hitting the jackpot with a phenom like Allen.

Does John Harbaugh poaching his brother’s DC to replace Martindale in Baltimore make it more or less likely Jim will be leaving Michigan?

Daball scares me. He was our Offensive coordinator under Tony Sparano in 2011. That year were were ranked 20th in offense. We had Matt Moore slinging the rock and Reggie Bush rushing.

I don't recall anything unique or inspiring during his tenure as OC. We had a 6-10 Record that year as well. Kicked a lot of field goals as well :)

Buffalo has gathered a lot of talent and was lucky to land a real QB. Tua will be a one year stop gap for whomever. If he doesn't show progress quickly he's gone No new coach is going to wait 2/3 more years for him to develop Year 3 is his lifeline.

But Im not sure DaBall is that coach. Id like a proven coach.

If we had a lot of FG than I guess we drove down the field but couldn’t capitalize I remember our red zone offense being terrible.

He got the assignment to make Reggie Bush a runningback from Sparano and turned the guy into a 1,000 yard rusher. I thought was really cool at the time.

Also, what we he going to do that was inspiring with Matt Moore and Chad Henne at quarterback?

Also that was 11 years ago. I would hope he would have grown since then.

With what we're hearing I wouldn't be surprised if we take Joseph in the end, would be a perfect fit with this franchise...

One Tweet or article springs up with something vague and then a flood of other articles rush in repeating it, and all of a sudden it looks like 'everyone' is saying it when they're not. It's one guy, often sharing something that he heard from someone who is connected to someone, and the rest are just echoing him.

Actually, I think that's a good analogy for a lot of sports media right now, an echo chamber. No-one knows anything but everyone repeats everything.

Nope, we'd drive down the field like bottled lightning, get inside the 30 and run the ball on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down. It was our MO all year long- be aggressive until we were in field goal range, then kick the field goal as Sparano celebrated on the sidelines.

We were 6-10 that year, but we also lost several games on last-minute drives as we nursed a 3-point lead. It was a fairly potent offense but we had no interest in reaching the endzone once we took the lead. It was one of the most frustrating years ever since we played that way by design. As soon as we were up by 1, we ran the ball the rest of the game.

As Sean Payton is leaving the Saints, is not a possibility?

Proven HC, though he does have the "Bountygate" episode in his past that will probably not endear him to some.

Everything I've seen indicates he's looking at doing something outside the NFL. The impression so far is that he won't be coaching anyone next year, maybe ever, unless he leaves and then gets the itch to come back.... or maybe a massive offer of money.

    I really hope so .

I've loved watching the D taking opposing offences to pieces over the last 2-3 seasons, and I want them to continue to play in the same vein for the foreseeable future.

I get the sentiment. Superstar QB elevates mediocre coach, like Rodgers and Joe Philbin. Still, Daboll has consistently put together solid rushing attacks. 6/8 years as OC, he was inside the top 11. in 2011, it's hard to argue he didn't get the very best out of Matt Moore, Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush, going 6-6 with that trio. Not to mention, if Tua is our guy (agree or disagree), he knows him as well as anyone and it creates a kind of continuity for a QB who has nothing but instability on offense.

I'm still rooting for Mike McDaniel. I think he could be best for this franchise long term. But I see the appeal of Daboll right now. If he's the guy, I'm not going to be upset.

Considering that I was bracing for Vance Joseph earlier in the week, I am a bit relieved by the names on this list. Kellen Moore is the only one that I really do not want. I legitimately think that Adam Gase or Joe Philbin would have that Dallas offense rolling. There is just a lot of talent there.

I sometimes think that the easiest story is the most accurate story. I think Jason Garrett was likely a middle to low tier coach, and when he left things got better. I think the story kinda lines up because he didn't last too long in NY.

I'd prefer a guy where it seems like he is getting a lot out of a little. I keep thinking that this is Mike McDaniel in a nutshell. I think Kittle, Deebo, and Trent Williams are excellent players. But if you look at a lot of the meat and potatoes, I think there are a lot of ordinary guys. I think Garrappolo is below average. Aiyuk is okay. They seem to get a lot out of their FB. Think about guys like Matt Breida that balled out and then came to Miami and did nothing. I think they find and identify RBS that work within their system really well.

When looking at SF's level of talent, I see something similar to to Miami. I worry that a guy like Kellen Moore might be in for a rude awakening when he doesn't have CeeDee Lamb, Cooper, Elliott, Pollard, and Shultz to turn to.

Reggie bush was a premier talent at running back so he gave him an assignment to do exactly what? Play his position. He didn’t turn him into a star he was one coming out of college

wouldn’t be upset but we’re going green again. I just want the wheel to stop and have some proven coaches at this point. I don’t want the learn in the fly 3/4 years and dump again looking for magic

This could have been written about the Watson trade speculation. All we ever heard was "Miami is still interested...", "Trade is imminent...", "Stephen Ross pushing for a trade...". No names were ever attached to the reports, but every time one was tweeted, a new round of discussion took place on the panel shows and more blog articles sprung up. Mando was good for it after he took his new job. Nothing of journalistic substance to report, but he made sure to put his name on the national stage when disclaimers all stated "as reported by Armando Salguero".

Of course, none of it proved to be accurate, but in the news cycle, it was almost discussed as being factual. Tell me when something happens or at least, when somebody puts a name to it. The same thing is happening in the NBA with the reports about Ben Simmons. It's not news if it hasn't happened.

I think it will be Harbaugh. I think he wants to go to the NFL. Ross “won’t be the one to take him away from Michigan”, but if Harbaugh is going to leave, I think Ross would outside hard.

I think Harbaugh was going to leave for Bears or Oakland, and Ross intercepted him. They both love Michigan and right now are waiting to NSD to be finished next week, and he’ll then go to Miami.

That’s my hope anyway, because I REALLY don’t want Daboll.

The Raiders have been awfully quiet. They set the benchmark with Gruden's deal, 10 million per year for 10 years guaranteed. If Harbaugh gets offered that kind of money it will take more than the love for Michigan to bring him to Miami. Then again, maybe the Raiders stay with the interim coach for small money.

Too many missteps, trust/faith in them has gone.
Even in this cycle, ditching Flores amidst all sorts of rumours and drama, then saying the HC will choose the QB, then apparently wanting to stick with Tua, then word that they're going to keep the defensive staff... all before they've hired a head coach?

Just no way to run a franchise.
