The big rumor in Michigan is that Matt Rhule is UMs #1 target to replace Harbaugh, who most expect is now essentially gone.
Do you think the remaining teams looking for a new coach (adding Carolina to the mix) are going to feel pressured to hire Flores to “make up” for his experiences/claims?
Never mind - thought further on that and realized he probably won’t be interviewing with the lawsuit in process.
I thought so, but didn’t see confirmation anywhere. Then I guess my original question is back on the table. What do you think is going on in Houston and New Orleans (and maybe Carolina)?
That's so hard to guess- I'd think they wouldn't dare cancel the interview at this point. I think Flores was a favorite in Houston before all this, so who knows?!? On merit alone, he should have a job somewhere.
I was thinking he’d end up in Houston before all this came out anyway, (assuming he could convince Watson to stay and the team to keep him).
Not necessarily Flores, but they may feel some pressure to hire a minority candidate like Leftwich or Aaron Glenn. At the very least, they will need to double check that everything is legit and above board, which they should be doing anyway. There are way too many qualified black candidates to use the "checking a box" excuse.
On him not being able to be trusted or follow directions he shouldn't be hired. Why would you hire someone who tells everyone private conversations about the organization? And if he was hired, wouldn't that just blow his whole argument out of the water?
He was not hired up front with the promise of going 0-17. Grier tried to ensure that was realistic, but Flores messed that up by doing the job he was hired to do. The bribes came later once Miami started winning. The directions he didn't follow are the directions that's going to get Ross thrown out of this league. Oh, and they're also criminal...and against everything pro sports stand for. To stand up to that, heck yes...that's exactly what teams should be looking for in leading their players.
No that he NOW comes out with it. Where was his integrity when it happened? Where is the police report about this 2 years ago. Oh that's right it only NOW serves his agenda. Funny how that works.
Where was his integrity? He said no...he won 5 games with the worst team in NFL history. That's where his integrity is.
Makes you wonder if the Vikings interview was a ruse like many suggested, that the plan was to come here all along but that option died when the **** hit the fan with Flores. Only option for Harbaugh was to retreat to Michigan. If so, this confirms we are so ****ing cursed. Is there a Shaman in the house??
And then???? He didn't do chit until he got fired. Self serving at best and so don't hold him up as some pillar of virtue.
I don’t know if I would go so far as to say “po flo” as much as I would say the league is circling the wagons. I mean, think about it… No minority coaches are hired Flores drops his lawsuit McDaniels is hired by Miami Houston drops Mcknown and hires Lovie Smith out of left field Now Joe Judge is picked up in New England immediately after getting fired. Coincidence?
