Stephen Ross selling, no matter the circumstances, would be a momentous day for this franchise. And hopefully the end of the seaworld logo
There’s a lot of disagreement on this board on many topics, but there is at least one (almost) universal truth: no one likes Ross or Grier, and this scandal might sweep both out the door. Hell of an embarrassing way for it to happen (for the true believers, players and employees), but maybe we get our wish…
What did Ross do that was racist? People throw that word around too much. He hired a black GM and a black coach. Yup, he's a racist. He fired the coach because the coach sucked, not because he is black. That won't matter though. All of the woke social justice warriors will make it All about race. All this will do is stop owners from hiring black coaches and GM's because they will never be able to fire them.
The fact you can say a coach who had the 8th best record in the nfl the last 2 seasons “sucks” is interesting, not to mention the team PR going above and beyond to salt the earth on Flores isnt about wokeness. Its plain for everyones eye to see and clear.
Not to mention the leading candidate for the dolphins atm father is black making him half black. Also, the sixers openly tanked for 6 or 7 years i forget how long and they even marketed the fact they were tanking as the process. The dolphins stuff has zero to do with race and more to do with us being a dumpster for so long.
People can get fired for reasons other than performance whether you agree with that or not. The simple fact he was going against the owner is enough for the owner to fire him if he wants to.
Actually, if the owner asked him to commit a crime and fired him for not committing a crime… guess who just committed a crime?
So you're saying Ross is a racist? Btw, good coaches dont go on 7 game losing streaks, so why is it interesting that I said he sucks? That's my opinion. Fyi, it's not because he's black
yeah, well good luck proving that in court unless he has a recording from ross directly saying that. Having witnesses that are no longer on the dolphins with the obvious motive being an axe to grind against ross will go nowhere in court. Its also very vague how its being stated from his defense team currently. If ross said you get 200k for a win and 100k for a loss you can say hes paying you to tank. It's also a crime not to report the crime and is hung up in every single locker room inside the nfl. Clearly saying if you are offered bribe money for affecting games you have to immediately step forward and bring it to the league offices attention.
Oh really? Tell me what jury is going to find witnesses being truthful for reporting a crime after they were no longer with the team and it no longer benefited them. Clearly no motive for them to lie and slander ross. Im not claiming ross didnt do this or that ross isnt a clown shoes owner im saying unless they have a recording or written memo on contract from ross good luck in court.
And a little look into her found this: Waters pleaded guilty in May, 2010, to one count of filing a fraudulent tax return, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison. Part of a bribery conviction of he co-conspirator for his role in conspiring to bribe Southfield City Councilman William Lattimore in connection with the Southfield City Council’s approval of the relocation of a pawn shop. In entering her guilty plea, Waters admitted to accepting a $6,000 Rolex watch which Riddle acquired from businessman Thomas LaBret. The watch was compensation for her work on Riddle’s behalf to secure support from Lattimore to move LaBret’s shop to Southfield. Waters admitted that although she understood that the watch was a form of compensation, she failed to report it as such in filing her 2008 taxes. United States Attorney Barbara L. McQuade said, “People who engage in public corruption will be held accountable. It is reprehensible when people cheat the taxpayers of cities that are already struggling financially.” You can't make this chit up. Maybe she should focus on why she let that happen and hasn't done anything for her community instead of blaming everyone else. THIS IS THE PROBLEM. Who you vote for matters. Who actually gets things done MATTERS. Not the color of your skin or the R or D behind their name. Maybe it's time for these communities that are underserved and poor to take a look at themselves for the choices they make in who represents them and why they haven't DEMANDED ACCOUNTABILITY. Instead they re-elected her.
Because he didn't make the playoff in 3 years which is pretty much the standard for not getting fired.
Sixth: Apparently, random lawyer on twitter as source, the FCC broadcast agreement requires sporting events to be true competitive events, otherwise you have to declare as ‘sport entertainment’ e.g. WWE, so if this goes to Federal Court and evidence is presented then Ross could be charged with a federal crime (and the Browns ownership as well, as that shoe is dropping now to, they offered bonus/bribes for losing in 2016/17) Pure speculation, but I think the descrimination charge is that Flo was hired as a patsy to tank the 2019 season but ****ed around and actually put together a win streak - and has been mentioned as COY candidate every year, so they couldn’t fire him. Also, to those saying Flo should have tanked and played Rosen etc… Grier brought in Fitz, knowing Ross’s desire to tank, Fitz clearly signed with us with the expectation to compete for starting qb… so you want to lie to a 15 year? And not expect that to get out? Flo didn’t lie to Fitz, Grier did. Flo extended Fitz’s career by 1 or 2 seasons. But you know lie cheat steal throw away careers to get that draft pick. Flo was right if you are suggesting intentional losing games, then You come to training camp and return punts! oops - sorry about the f-bomb, thanks to mod for edit
You don't have to make that stuff up, it's commonplace in local, state, and federal politics. The shocking part is that they actually came after her for it- that means she really angered someone above her.
I would love to know what Ross is doing right now, and how he's reacting to the world closing in on him. I bet the little dork has already stained his britches two or three times today. I'm just hoping this goes quick and he's out within the month. That could potentially salvage the '22 season at least.
Ross and Grier just totally botched this tank from the beginning hiring Flores. They should have promoted someone within they knew they could control for one year as HC. If they don't hire Fitz as backup because they may have to start him one day in case of injuries the plan would have worked. They would have had the first pick and probably still pick Tua if Burrow didn't have that incredible season and could have had the pick of the litter of coaches..
This would actually be a clean time for Ross to sell. Without admitting anything he can say he's selling for the sake of the team's name, proud of the young roster he has built, and hand over to a new owner at this time to pick up with hiring the new HC. Beal knows Ross so may be happy inheriting Grier whose roster this is and he can take it forward from here...
Coach Flores doesn't strike me as someone that's going to show up for a fight unprepared. If he's been working on this since 2019 there has to be others that already know about this.
That's what happens when you just make **** up. Florio loves to call his opinions and speculation facts. Nothing to see here.
He also called Harbaugh's phone call with the Vikings last week an actual official interview. It's all about clicks. No one understands that.
https://www.audacy.com/wfan/sports/brian-flores-lawyers-discuss-his-suit-on-carton-and-roberts Interview with Flores' lawyers today. First they say Flores was fired because he was black, which the radio host immediately calls that out as BS. The other thing I got from this is when they asked if there were live witnesses to the whole tanking thing. They kind of stumble and don't say there are actual live witnesses but people that were made aware of it afterwards. It's over an hour but very interesting interview.
I think hes more in the “well, ill have 4 billion more in my bank account if **** goes bad”. Billionaires never lose. Donald Sterling with the biggest racist rant in sports since Marge Schott got a record breaking deal for the Clippers from one of the founders of Microsoft..
Well, about 1/3 of the NFL had HC vacancies and none of them hired him, I wasn’t paying too much attention but I didn’t hear his name on too many shortlists either. I’m not saying he “sucks”, but I had some concerns about him going forward and wasn’t heartbroken when he got sacked. Maybe there is something to the “difficult to work with” tag that people tried to stick on him after the Dolphins sacked him. I’m also not saying the PR hitjob on him after leaving the phins was justified, but plenty of coaches have survived and thrived after similar treatment over the years.
If anyone says that Adam Gase wasn’t the guy n goes and says that Brian Flores was the guy they haven’t payed attention. They have similar records after 3 years. Don’t bring the context up Bc we went on losing streaks.
Why do you assume someones white because they don't believe racism was involved in every frigen story that's leaked? Then you call the guy a joke. Man some of you guys if someone doesn't agree with you are so quick to throw out insults and assumptions bravo!
I don't think he's white because he doesn't believe racism is involved in every frigen story that's leaked I think he's white because in all my years if someone says there's no oppression it's usually an older white dude. I call him a joke because I've read enough of his posts on the other board to know that he is. It has nothing to do with him agreeing with me or not it has everything to do with him being a joke. I'm not new to the internet I can disagree cordially with someone. I disagree with your assessment of my post but I don't think you're a joke. I've disagreed with people on this very board and have never called anyone else here a joke. So lets not be quick to make assumptions.
They were both awful coaches. Dude is suing the nfl Bc he can’t get a job Bc of the BS he pulled with us and Tua. By the way I’m not a fan of Tua but if the way he acted was true then he got what he deserves.
I doubt Flores has anything and I VERY much doubt Ross is going to be forced to sell the team. I wish he would just go ahead and sell it to be done with the BS, though. That would solve all our problems, his and the fans.
