It's the truth. McDaniel is not black, deal with it. He has never really had to deal with racism in his life, because he looks white. Sorry to break it to you that way...

Flores got his feelings hurt and screwed himself. I cannot feel sorry for him. If he keeps his mouth shut he likely gets the Texans job and the QB he wanted too. Now he wants to go after Houston for not hiring him, really pathetic.

I think it’s more likely that Flores went to an attorney with an agenda, and the attorney is using Flores as an excuse to go for a ride on his hobby horse.
If I was an attorney and had Flores as a client
    1) I’d strongly advise him to pump the brakes and wait until the HC hiring/firing cycle had completed before filing a claim. Flores’ best interests are served by getting the best outcome for him i.e. another HC gig. Employers are much less likely to hire someone with an active suit against their former employer than someone who’s never sued their employer.
    2) I’d a lot more groundwork on the getting data to show the progression of coaches through the ranks to show any discrimination.
    3) Separate the tanking and tampering allegations into a different complaint to the NFL. That puts the Dolphins into the position of saying “we fired him because he refused to cheat” if they want to bring it up. Which is much stronger for Flores than what he’s doing of publicly saying they didn’t fire him because of racism, they fired him because he have too much integrity.
    4) Think long and hard before including the Denver Broncos in the suit. His claim is basically calling an NFL HoF QB a drunkard and a racist. I don’t care if it’s true or not - HoF QBs don’t get there by taking insults lying down. Plus since Flores got the Miami job he can’t show any real harm in getting the Miami job instead of the Denver job. Basically it's picking a fight with a 800lb grizzly bear over an acorn. It’s one the grizzly bear is winning based on the public statements so far.

As a former lawyer I’m having a lot if difficulty seeing how Flores’ lawyers are looking after Flores’ best interests based on how they’ve handled the case to date. Their duty is to Brian Flores, not to any broader interests.

Doubling down on disgusting posts and terrible takes eh? Not only is he not black enough for you, but you also feel empowered to claim that he “never had to deal with racism in his life”.

I’m trying to imagine what made you feel think sitting on the internet and arbitrating a strangers blackness and personal history is a reasonable thing to do.

I hate reminders like this of how we live in an a world with others who have ugly beliefs.

Spare me man. I'm actually multi-racial, and I have the same skin tone as Mcdaniel, but I would never call myself black, or profess to know what it feels like to be black in America.

For the record, whereas we know Coach is "multi-racial", we don't know what races comprise his ethnicity. Folks are assuming one is Black, but nobody knows and he's under no obligation to prove it. So referring to him as being "Black" is jumping the gun.

Pretty sure he never said it. And I saw the photo after reading your post, but it was posted by a friend, not him. Regardless, he's not obligated to verify his ethnicity or label himself.

I'm going to step out of this convo, BTW. My dude is who he is and not what he is. What he happens to be is human and folks trying to tie him into Flo's lawsuit aren't doing it for any good reason other than to kick up dirt. This has the potential to become political, like the COVID protocol thread did.

I don’t recall asking if you were multi-racial or not. The fact that you are is irrelevant. Being multi-racial and having ugly views aren’t mutually exclusive, nor does it give you the authority to define McDaniels lived experiences.

Agreed that those people are jerks, however, I have seen an article that stated his grandmother is black. I don't know his exact racial identity. Don't really care that much.

But don't worry, society will label him for him. Know that from experience.

for what it’s worth some podcast or news clip claimed McDaniel’s dad was black and he himself grew up as a black child. I understod that to mean his family was largely influenced by his fathers side.

Ultimately I could not care less. I want this dude to win games. But that’s why I was disappointed when Flores was let go.

I wouldn't be surprised. But I wouldn't expect to come work for my company again either if I sued them. It's unfortunate, cause I think he had what it took to be a good coach. He had some learning to do, but we hired him as a rookie. We'll do the same with McDaniel.

I don't understand why anyone cares. We're not supposed to focus on ethnicity (there's only ONE race, the human race), yet we're constantly forced to focus on ethnicity.

All I care about is can he coach. He doesn't strike me as a real manly man. I could be wrong.

We must check the woke box. It's mandatory nowadays. It doesn't matter if your a good coach or not, just that the underserved community has equity in all things and that a fair and inclusive environment where safe spaces are provided for those that might feel triggered by a microaggression are provided. THIS IS WHAT'S IMPORTANT. Nothing else. Not common sense. Not ones ability.

Cue those that are triggered in....3.....2....1

To even MENTION removing Ross publicly is more assertive than Goodell has ever been on snyder. Elf in the kettle here

Come on. He HAS to say that. His league is under fire. Goodell and the owners look out for eachother. He's not going anywhere.

He didn't mention Ross specifically that I saw. The question was can the other owners vote another owner out.

I don't think you are wrong, the owners would definitely prefer to back their own, cause it could probably be any of them in any hot seat at any moment, but only to an extent, you start hurting the bottom line and the owners will abandon you.

He never mentioned it about Snyder nor Richardson… who they ultimately removed.
Odd for a public statement that forceful
On the heels of mentioning he found the allegations against ross deeply disturbing. There is clear correlation there.

Wasnt in relation to that. Was in reaction to tanking, which WILL actually get the league to act. Why? It imperils gambling money. Big revenue stream, they wont jeopardize that to protect Ross. If they find any fire to that “loss games for pay” allegation, hes gone

    Irony alert -

Brian Flores sued the NFL because the NFL lacks black head coaches, but a law firm representing him has no black lawyers.

He's implying and Al Sharpton are saying there should be a quota in place for the hiring of blacks. But he doesn't aspire to the same ideology when he does the hiring. He just picks what HE THINKS is the best. Kinda like what an NFL owner does.

If you weren't sure what irony means:
A situation that is strange or funny because things happen in a way that seems to be the opposite of what you expected.

I know what irony is. But there's a lot of people working double-time to poke holes in everything Flores is doing.

I'm not saying he's right, I just think we shouldn't be so fast to insist he's wrong.
