Great news for everyone…but Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Flores will be LB Coach and senior defensive assistant for Coach Tomlin.

    reported, well by everyone.

That's a fairly low-ranking position for a head coach off a few winning seasons and a dominant defense, but good for him. I almost hate to say this, but at least the one black head coach in the league gave him a chance.

But not without the consent of Art Rooney. Tomlin probably used a lot of personal capital to get him to hire him, though. I'll bet the other 31 teams are upset with the Steelers right now.

Position coach with the fake designation of a high rank in the defense was just what I thought he would get.

Flores is working with the Linebackers. This doesn't effect Minkah at all.

Have to admit I'm surprised anyone hired him. Hopefully he doesn't repay the Steelers with a racial discrimination lawsuit.

Steelers organization probably knows something we don't. I was dead sure Flores was radioactive at this point.

I can see him taking over as HC again in a few years at Pittsburg

Nice to know that Lovie Smith doesn’t count as black.

Linebacker coach was what he was with New England when we hired him and when he called the plays that held the Rams to 3 points in the SB a few years back. He'll have the Steelers playing at a high level.

I thought the same thing. Minkah probably lile wtf. Let's see if they can work it out or if he asked to be traded away from flo again lol. Ehhh Holland is a beast anyway...not our problem.

Nice smile there Flo - I would categorize it as "how about my two front white teeth" - those were the ones the Dolphins kicked me in - LOL

I guess Minkah is going to have to ask for another trade. Maybe we can trade Austin Jackson for him and have the best safety tandem in NFL history.

Flores still has a lot of years ahead of him. He can take a step back for now, and work his way up to head coaching interviews again. Hell it wouldnt shock me if he gets some interviews next year.

And there may be some things he can learn from Tomlin by standing in the background, about how to communicate with the media and communicate with front office leaders.

Honestly these jobs are so hard to come by, especially if youre a black coach. They probably go through a lot of anxiety and it may show during interviews and even on the sidelines. They also feel theyre under the microscope, they feel any turn can lead them into termination.

Tomlin is someone who just went into the Steelers, with full confidence in his ability to lead. Eric, Leftwich, Bowles, Flores, Wilks, Frazier and others need to let their guard down, just coach the way they can and i bet half or even all of them can find success.

I’m pleased for Coach Flores that he has found a new position so quickly.

I just hope he doesn’t come back to haunt us.

Good for the Steelers. I think he’ll be good in that roll. So it makes sense for them.

I supported the Dolphins firing Flores, because I didn’t think he was a great Head coach.

But I still don’t think he should be black balled from the league for standing up for what he believes was wrong doing. It certainly seems like there is some traction to the Giants stuff anyways…
