Big get. Exactly the Wideout I was hoping we would target. Fits McDaniels system perfectly. Big Yards after catch guy. Can play all over the field. Out produced Gallup by every metric last season in Dallas.
Waddle, Wilson + a drafted WR could be a nasty group. Might have to be another W and then let somebody get creative with naming something with 3 W's.
Good signing. Low money for a high upside dude who fits the scheme nicely, probably mostly in a Z role using speed to pressure the D and open up room for guys like Waddle and Bowden to hit underneath and use speed to snatch YAC and breakaways. I'm just surprised we haven't seen anything on the OL yet.
To my point that he had a better season than Gallup; Cedric Wilson Jr - 61 Targets -46 catches and 74% catch rate -602 rec YDs and 6 TD -13.4 Y/P/C and 9.9 Y/P/T -5.8 yards after catch(per reception) Michael Gallup - 62 targets -35 catches and 57% catch rate -445 rec yards and 2 TDs -12.7 Y/P/C and 7.2 Y/P/T -3.5 Yards after catch(per reception) Wilson did A LOT more with the same amount of targets. Plus Wilson is currently healthy, more versatile and 5M per year cheaper. That catch rate is elite by NFL standards period (not just Dallas). He was open plenty. Also threw a 50 yard touchdown pass last year and was Dallas’ gadget play guy. Like I said versatility in spades. And while he hasn’t gotten volume at the NFL level…his college numbers were video game like!!!
