Done deal.. this is the cost of paying an aging quarterback 150 million in 3 years

Adams didn't want to play for the tag and GB probably doesn't want to commit long term money post Rogers.

They have a void to fill now though. I'd see what they would offer for Parker. Or even Big Mike. The Raiders pick at 22, so they might be able to get a decent rookie, but they can't rely on a vet plus some junk, which is all they have atm.

Edit: It's apparently NOT two first rounders according to ESPN, but two picks in this draft including their first, #22. The other pick isn't known. Also, apparently Adams was offered a contract by GB similar to what the Raiders are going to offer but Adams said no, and that he wanted out. Rogers was aware of this as well.

He gets to reunite with Carr, they were teammates at Fresno and destroyed records together.

the Oakland Raiders replaced Henry Ruggs with the top receiver in the NFL

Yeah, there are going to be some insane games played within that division this year. Just an amazing collection of talent on every team and the Raiders are STILL probably the LEAST team in the AFCWest.

No idea what the Packers are doing though, it almost seems like they locked Rodgers in for a couple years and then are going to cripple the team around him just out of spite.

Sounds like Adams wanted to go play with Carr, not much the Packers could do. They need some WR help bad now though.

Franchise tag? Leaving all that money on the table and losing a year of play time that you'll NEVER get back? Plus months of Aaron Rodgers working to smooth things over with his #1 WR?

It just feels like the Packer front office just didn't want to be bothered. They can draft a WR AND a QB in this draft though with the extra picks. That would be hilarious.

Packers should pick up Julio, Landry and Beckham for less than Adams. At least Landry should be able to play all year but i want to see what he can do with the Ravens.

Maybe it was just a bad fit, but Julio just seemed done last year. Beckham is probably a higher ceiling at this point. Allen Robinson would have been interesting but just signed in LA.

I'd assume maybe a free agent pickup and then draft someone at 22 as well. May still be able to get a Jameson Williams or Chris Olave there. Also possible they try and flip some assets for a vet. Would make a lot of sense to inquire about those Seattle guys.

They did tag him, and Adams said he would not play on the tag. They made him an offer and he refused. He apparently purchased a house in Vegas near Carr in the offseason and they were college teammates and are very close. Sounds like he just wanted to go play with his buddy. Green Bay wasn't letting him leave for nothing, and they ultimately got something for him.

The Athletic's Matt Schneidman reports the Packers were "willing to pay Davante Adams as much or more than the Raiders," and that his decision "came down to him wanting out and to play with Derek Carr, his college quarterback."

Alrighty then. It is a little hard to believe that Adams would choose the Raiders over the Packers if the money was truly equal, but Adams indeed had unbelievable chemistry with Carr before Rodgers. Perhaps he was simply over the drama in Green Bay. It's also possible this is a coordinated leak from the Packers, who certainly never gave off the vibe they were ready to give Adams what he wanted. Whatever it was, he is gone.

No one is signing Beckham till hes cleared by doctors to play.. whats sad about his situation is that had he finish the super bowl and came out healthy.. hes probably looking at 5 years 100 million contract offers right now.. instead hes coming back midseason to a contender for the minimum

When I logged on and saw 'Devante Adams Traded....' in the Dolphins section, I did a little sex wee.

Now I just feel dirty, used and ashamed.
