Baker and a couple first rounders for Watson? Rodgers no longer the highest paid QB? Insane.

Hearing fully guaranteed 5 yr $230 million deal?

There can't be many good looking women in Cleveland. Maybe he will keep it in his pants.

The price is way too big in my opinion, a guy thats been away from football, will have to face 3 rough road opponents every year, that will get in his ears about being an alleged creep, will face suspension as well, and they do not have a receiver worth a damn.

on the other hand, the price the Falcons did by disrespecting Matt Ryan is just as bad. Matt Ryan has been the face of that city, has been a huge supporter of the black community, and they bent over for Deshaun and did everything they can just to go back to him and say hey we still love each other right?

You know these are one of those moments where im glad the dolphins were not involved. Thank you football gods..

even if Tua turns out to be a bust i think we will be okay.. but to go through the embarrassment the Falcons went through by deshaun watson would have been something i cant stomach and id probably turn in my fan card.

We are in the east. The afc west and north will destroy each other.

There are many offseason champions every year. This will all balance itself out

They do have Amari Cooper and a pretty good TE (Njoku).

Agree on the Falcons - going to be very difficult to salvage the relationship with Ryan.

Ah, so i guess he picked the team willing to bend the most. Falcons and Saints were like, youre not going to bankrupt us, see if the Browns are willing to bankrupt their franchise.

That's unbelievable. I bet they structured the contract that way expecting a possible suspension this season. It also lets them "load up" for one year...which does no good if they don't have a QB.

Eh, the Texans got worse, Cleveland got a little better...that's balanced out. The problem for us is Buffalo loading up for a championship run. That's the only team in our path that truly matters.

Well, now I'm in a position of rooting against my late father's favorite team for the first time in my life. Gonna be a lot of dirty looks in my direction at family gatherings on Sunday afternoons this fall.

The division records for a lot of these teams could be 3-3 or 4-2 at best. Miami getting to 10 wins and a 4-2 division record should serve them well in the playoff hunt.

Now, once there? Tough sledding, but as the Bengals showed, you get hot at the right time and catch a couple breaks and who knows?

I think once things went south with Mayfield, they had no other choice but to do this. Cleveland fans are sick of losing. Probably more than our fan base. Watson has his work cut out for him in that city, but the Browns will be relevant on a yearly basis with him.

I'm not sure what Mayfield is as a QB but playing him when he had a partially torn labrum was never going to make for a successful year. I think they were leaning towards moving on from him before last season started and making him play on that injury gave them the perfect excuse to not pay him and give them an out with the fanbase to move on.

He had decent numbers before last year.

the Browns just gave up a fortune, they wont have a first round pick till 2025, they gave up other picks as well.

Theyve lost some pieces in this offseason too. And they probably wont have Deshaun till Week 7.

They can only hope that this giant gamble pays off, but right now the Bengals, Steelers and Ravens are built better.

i find it ironic that they leaked out that they want an adult at quarterback and came up with Deshaun.

Leonard Fournette and Jarvis were planning on signing with Atlanta if they had signed Watson. Still would have no defense and no OL, but there would have been a lot of excitement leading up to a 6-11 season.

If the Saints or Falcons offered the same deal the Browns did, he wouldnt have chosen the Browns.. take that to the bank.. hes from atlanta, grew up a falcons fan and michael vick fan.. this was about the Browns offering a whole lot more money than anyone else did..

also note there are so many franchises besides those three that dont have a franchise qb, that deshaun would be a clear upgrade to, and none of them dared to get into these negotiations

Lets not forget the Browns were informed by deshaun that theyre out.. then baker asked for his trade.. and then the browns desperately caved to a man whos about to serve a 6 game suspension.. and on top of that gave up gigantic draft capital for it..

The Browns made his base salary this season only one million dollars to cater to him in case he gets suspended. So, he won't lose that much money per game while he's suspended.

    What a sleazy organization.

    What a sleazy person.

They deserve eachother. I hope they tank hard.

It would be hilarious if after all of this the NFL delayed his suspension for another year and then gave him the actual suspension next season.

Even with this trade theyre still the 4th best team in the division… and they wont be able to draft in the first round until 2025, unless they start trading away talent like Garrett for first round picks .. wouldnt shock me to see them continue doing clown moves..

Now we know how they got him to reconsider them after being told they were out of the running. As much as I want a great qb, I’m glad Miami didn’t go that route to get one.

Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield is sitting there in limbo. He knows once Watson is eligible to play, he’s no longer the starter. He’s asked for a trade and the Browns have said no.

So be it. If I was Mayfield, the first snap of the first game of the 2022 season, I would intentionally throw an interception to a wide open defender, one that has a clear shot to the Endzone.

My mindset would be, “if you’re going to screw me, I’m going to screw you”

That was before they traded for Watson. They signed Briskett to back up Watson so Baker is gone.

Yes, they traded for and gave Deshaun Watson $230 million and signed Jacoby Brissett.

What do you think they're going to put him on the practice squad?

No one is trading a high round pick for Baker when they can get him for free.

i think seattle and new orleans can be a fit for him but not guaranteed to start. He would have to compete vs Lock or vs Winston
